Avatar 12:40pm Mary Wing:

Hi Ken, that doesn't sound good, take care of yourself! I know I'm getting sick when I get a scratchy throat, it's the thing I dread the most.

In my case I felt a little tired last Friday. Nothing bad. Go to work, and then at 2:00pm on the dot it snapped. I felt dizzy and chalked that up to eating a late lunch. Got home, collapsed on the bed and had a 101F. Next day it went up to 103.5F.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45pm Michael 98145:

Avatar 12:47pm Mary Wing:

Ugh, that sounds awful, Jake.

Avatar 1:15pm Mary Wing:

Ah, thanks, fleep! I remember Droll, hope he's doing okay.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm brainiac:

Hi fellow listeners. I had to check to see if the dialog I was hearing behind the music was coming from another open tab. Turns out it was just the voices in my head.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:18pm doctorjazz:

Awwww, missed the Micros, one of my Favs!

Hello Mary and esteemed listeners of good taste
Avatar 1:26pm Mary Wing:

Hi Roberto, brainiac, and Stanley!

This woman's voice reminds me of that "Jesus took me to hell" found recording.
Avatar 1:31pm Mary Wing:

Huh, wonder if I can find that...

SM Ken has played it a number of times.
  1:31pm Ike:

Avatar 1:46pm βrian:

Oh for the love of Roches!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm doctorjazz:

And the Roches, another group I chased to catch as many of theirshows as possible (The Microscope Septet and Abdullah Ibrahim were the other 2 I caught as often as I could in the 80s and 90s)
Avatar 1:48pm Mary Wing:

Heh heh, Roberto, when I googled Jesus dragged me to hell, your comment saying the same thing as above showed up on Michele's playlist.
Avatar 1:50pm βrian:

Are there Roches covers out there?
Avatar 1:50pm Roberto:

Wait, I made the same comment on Michele's show?
  1:51pm rw:

Mary!! Thx for the TA. I don’t think I’ve ever heard it all the way thy. Perfect for am commute!

Avatar 1:54pm Mary Wing:

I found two, Brian, so yeah, I got a Roches 3oak in the works!
Avatar 1:55pm Roberto:

Was that an SM Ken co-hosted special? Anyway, I have no memory of that comment. Thanks, WFMU, for keeping track of my every move.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm chresti:

Hi whatever!
Avatar 1:58pm Mary Wing:

Good morning, chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm Ken From Hyde Park:

You're going to need some 3oak songs of a reggaeal nature for Sunday.
Avatar 1:59pm Mary Wing:

I'm working on it, Ken!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm doctorjazz:

Googling I only found covers of Hammond Song and The Married Men.

Avatar 2:35pm Mary Wing:

Heh, nice, crateslinger!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:39pm crateslinger:

yeah, that's pretty much all I've done with my life.
Avatar 2:40pm βrian:

I've never been to Cincinnati, myself.
Avatar 2:41pm Franco Twinkie:

Well Brian, I've never been to Ohio, so that makes two of us.
Avatar 2:42pm Mary Wing:

I went to Cincinnati twice in the 90s, seemed like a nice place.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:45pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I wonder how, in WFMU style, the schoolroom session was three hours of "One Love" covers would go over?
Avatar 2:45pm Franco Twinkie:

When I think of Ohio, I think of my Etch-A-Sketch which was made by The Ohio Arts Company. And of course Devo.
Avatar 2:48pm βrian:

I grew up in Michigan, so people from Ohio were from "down there."
Avatar 2:49pm Mary Wing:

Even I, the most tolerant of covers, would tire of One Love for three hours, Ken, heh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Phillippe Bastille:

Great cut here, Mary
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Michael 98145:

Thanks again, Mary W

Man Next Door has already sat for a spin on the 3oak lazy susan, heh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm chresti:

The best covers are the "Versions" with a DJ/Toaster, like Dennis Alcapone
Avatar 2:57pm Franco Twinkie:

A friend of mine who grew up in Ohio told me her family would eat at a Chinese restaurant called the Jade Garden and she would order chocolate milk. Now call me crazy, but I don't think that would be my choice of a beverage with Asian food.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Phillippe Bastille:

Thanks Mary!

When I was in Ohio, the biggest band around was SS-20. There was another band called Afghan Whigs too, but I never saw or heard them. They got pretty famous.
