Mary Wing, we love you even without the diiiinnnnnnnng.
Avatar 9:25am DL in LA:

Mary, I have come here from the future to say thanks for your show. On my planet, we highly value your taste, but especially your adventurousness! Unfortunately, I must leave now, as these time-dimension links can become suddenly unstable. It’s so annoying. You’d think if we can time travel … but don’t get me started!! Ta ta for
Avatar 9:26am Mary Wing:

Let me run upstairs and get it.
Avatar 9:28am Mary Wing:

See you in the archives, DL!
  9:36am NN:

oh, this is the raggae guy Jeff's normal live time? I don't really love raggae but his show is great! its probably 90% of the music of that type I've heard over past 6 years :)
  9:37am NN:

...and I was wondering what was up with the Wing Raggae style today haha....
Avatar 9:38am Mary Wing:

Yes, Jeff Sarge brings the reggae every Sunday at this time! All I know about reggae, I learned from him!

<jumping & waving> Hi Phillippe!
Avatar 10:04am Sketch:

I was upstairs putting my baby down for a nap and when I came back I heard you say Love Doctor and for a moment I thought you might have played the True Persuaders cut Love Doctor, DEEP CUT. Big up Ptah Kruud original Jamaican reggae singer and founder of True Persuaders, currently residing in Jersey City in Journal Square!! Got to hear some True Persuaders
Avatar 10:05am Sketch:

Avatar 10:06am Mary Wing:

Not that Love Doctor, heh, sorry. Evidently there are lots of them!
  10:10am Cabbage:

Good morning friends!!!
  10:11am Cabbage:

This song goes out to Tuor and Voronwe, who have just found the magic passage to The City of Stone.
Avatar 10:12am Mary Wing:

Good morning, Cabbage! Vegetables represent!
Avatar 10:18am Roberto:

Suddenly, reggae seems a lot more tolerable.
  10:18am Cabbage:

'Morning Mary!
  10:21am Phillippe Bastille:

Sunday morning is the only time all week I get to yell “More dub!!” instead of “More cowbell!!” Feels surprisingly good.
Avatar 10:22am Mary Wing:

Hiya Roberto, there's still time to make it intolerable... ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26am Ken From Hyde Park:

Ding it, Jah!
Avatar 10:26am Sketch:

Any local reggae heads definitely check out True Persuaders and Ptah Kruud www.youtube.com...
Avatar 10:27am Sketch:

Ptah is a living legend. His uncle Noel Seal was percussionist with The Caribs, original Jamaican band and pioneers of ska
Avatar 10:28am Sketch:

Hes an Indian Jamaican currently living in Journal Square, you wouldn't know he was from JA until he started chatting Patois. Regular at Channel One, good friends with Harry J, Robbie Lyn, Sly and Robbie. Hes a great dude, been in the Jersey City area since the mid 80s
Avatar 10:28am Roberto:

Mary, you have a knack for making just about anything more tolerable :)
Avatar 10:28am Mary Wing:

Praise be the bell, Ken!
Avatar 10:32am Sketch:

His melodica playing especially with Harry J All Stars is often miscredited as Augustus Pablo. After Augustus Pablo became popular a lot of music that had melodica on it was released as Augustus Pablo, including a lot of the stuff Ptah Kruud played. And hes just hanging out in Jersey City. Great stuff!
Avatar 10:52am Roberto:

My 20-year-old daughter was barred from entering a dispensary in Santa Barbara last month despite her NY State medical card. Friendly tip: in the state of California. an out-of-state medical card does not preclude one's being under 21.
Avatar 10:56am Mary Wing:

The Man is always trying to keep us down!
Avatar 10:58am Roberto:

IKR? She had to sit in the losers' corner while the rest of us went about our bidnis.
  11:05am Marley Dogg:

Great show today!
Avatar 11:07am Mary Wing:

Thanks for tuning in, Marley Dogg!
  11:28am Phillippe Bastille:

You’ll have to get Jeff to fill in for you once and see what he comes up with. This show has been awesome!
Avatar 11:29am Mary Wing:

Heh! I think he would play reggae, no matter who he filled in for!
  11:34am Aaron in Minneapolis:

If only you did three of a kind for fill ins. I would be interested in hearing takes on bob marley
Avatar 11:35am Mary Wing:

Hi Aaron! 3oak is my my regular show only, but some covers are coming now!
  11:37am Aaron in Minneapolis:

Oooohhh. And then after your shift are you heading downstairs to party with the ibj!
Avatar 11:38am Mary Wing:

No, I have to be somewhere else this afternoon.
  11:38am Aaron in Minneapolis:

Anywhere else lol
  11:39am Aaron in Minneapolis:

I get it they can be a wild bunch
Avatar 11:40am Mary Wing:

Avatar 11:50am Mary Wing:

You have a real jukebox, Cooh John??
  11:51am Yes:

This is wonderful. Have you done a reggae school room fill in before?
Avatar 11:52am Mary Wing:

Thanks yes! I don't think so, but I've typed up the Schoolroom playlists--any time you see a Reggae Schoolroom archive with "this archive has a playlist" it was done by me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:54am Cooh John:

Yes, Mary. It is a Seeburg 3W1. You can buy and electronic device which also connects to an iPod and voila! I have a coin changer next to it so you can use nickels, dimes, and quarters. 25% of the music came from WFMU.
  11:55am Jimbo:

Nice cover of one of my favorite songs.
Avatar 11:55am Mary Wing:

Aw, that sounds cool! Is it all colored lights and stuff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:56am Cooh John:

No. Just one of those wall boxes that were at the booth or counter.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am Cooh John:

I do have LEDs and lasers to accent the room, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am Summer and Michael and Sylvia:

Great fill-in, Mary! Happy New Year!
Avatar 11:59am Mary Wing:

Happy new year, Michael! Hope 2020 is a great one for you, and everyone in the WFMU sphere!
