Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35am

We ran out of candy and had to turn off the outside lights to discourage sweet little kids coming up to our house
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45am
coelacanth∅:

it never crossed my mind to buy candy. aside from the torrential downpour all day/tonight my apartment entrance is in the back of the house.
the other 3 apartments' doors are in the front, in a walled-off hallway with no lights. i doubt any kids ever come to this house at all anyway.

Have to like Piero Umiliani, whose RateYourMusic page lists him as making Library Music, Film Score, Jazz, Lounge, Spaghetti Western, Electronic, Film Soundtrack, Novelty, Afro-Jazz, African Folk Music, and Jazz-Funk.

Halloween is a pretty big deal in my neighborhood so I always get a bunch of candy. Usually around 9:00pm things die down and a group of older kids comes by. I tell them they can have everything left in the bowl and they freak a little in disbelief. This year no older kids so I'm left with a pile of candy I don't need but can't resist!

I wanted some candy left over. Snif.

We didn't give out candy. The last 3 years we had candy, there were no takers and Franco ate the candy.

Apparently many people compare Osamu Kitajima to krautrock. At least this album. Hadn’t heard it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55am
coelacanth∅:

in my entire adult(ish) life, in several different locations, i've probably handed out candy to maybe 3-4 kids/groups of kids.
i stopped buying it years ago. 1/2 the time i'm not home on halloween and the other 1/2 the time nobody knocks on the door anyway -even if the house is all spooked up.

There's a dude down the street who works as a lighting designer for big concerts and events like that. He always does an amazing job on his house. Instead of candy he gives out plastic bugs. Tonight he was seated in a crescent moon in the driveway handing them out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:57am
coelacanth∅:

plastic bugs! that's a good idea for many reasons!

there were people in town earlier who thought they should postpone the parade until friday because of the rain (& crazy wind) but the parade proceeded as planned, in the rain. but i do think there'll be a few kids trick-or-treating tomorrow.
the bars will have halloween shows 'till sunday.
i'm glad i didn't go out tonight.

Halloween parade? Kids in costumes or something more extravagant?
  1:25am
Nick Name:

thx Scraps / coelacanth∅: not sure, no info online re that.

Hello all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25am
coelacanth∅:

kids, adults, groups of people...some little "floats" nothing extravagant. i didn't stick around
but last year there were tons of people in it. i kept thinking okay here comes the last of them then a whole new procession of bizarreness would walk by. happened 3 x. the whole parade must've taken at least 40 minutes to pass.

Looked up Tuluum Shimmering on RYM, they are listed as a musician and label both... maybe he’s also named Jake Webster. Tuluum Shimmering comes from Clwyd, UK, which sure sounds Welsh to me

Hi Nick. Tel Aviv waking up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32am
coelacanth∅:

and...tuluum shimmering has 35 albums on bandcamp. the earliest ones have no mention of tuluum shimmering records; so the artist must have just named the label after themselves/him/herself instead of giving it a new name.
