So, we're getting the Republic of Sudan, South Sudan, and whaat was once know as French Sudan..., or before the colonization, any area south of the Sahara and north of the equator. BTW, French Sudan had a badass flag,,,,:en.wikipedia.org...

CoelaC! Yeah, Buddy Ebsen 4EVAH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm chresti:

I'm drinking a cereal-drink from a stoneware cup, feels ceremonial
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm chresti:

It went nicely with the Ingessana Tribe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13pm melinda:

@chresti sounds nice. Do you mean the drink is grain-based?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm coelacanth∅:

...or do you run your breakfast cereals through a juicer?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm melinda:

I'm eating persimmons again, this time they had the flatter variety and the pointed so I bought one of each. Both good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm Gary:

OMG, I almost bought one tonight based on previous Comments Field talk
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm coelacanth∅:

melinda, nice.
i looked at persimmons after that conversation too but they didn't look so good and were very hard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm chresti:

it's oatmeal, I steep it in hot water, (ground up quick cook steel cut oats, and various other herbs and seeds)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm ParUbi:

The closest thing I've had to that was green tea with toasted barely
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm ParUbi:

What does it taste like?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:41pm chresti:

sometimes like a gruel, other times like cake
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:42pm coelacanth∅:

(-if you juiced a cake...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm chresti:

Haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm coelacanth∅:

i've had oat milk from a carton and it wasn't very sweet, and it wasn't substantial enough to use in coffee.
...and i eat oatmeal frequently so i don't need more oat in my life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm chresti:

I like the green tea with toasted brown rice, maybe I'll throw that in the gruel
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm coelacanth∅:

mmm genmaicha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm melinda:

I started getting oat milk cappucinos sometimes at the coffee place near my work but I looked up the oat milk they use and it isn't available in stores here. It's quite substantial and I suspect it is the Barista's Blend made by Oatly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49pm coelacanth∅:

chresti re:@8.42 i knew a guy who's father was losing it. he came home one day to find his father had decided to try out his son's juicer. he juiced carrots and onion and other vegetables and maybe fruit.
he juiced pickles. he juiced dried seaweed. he juiced sun-dried tomatoes. he juiced chick peas and brazil nuts.
he juiced cheese. he juiced tofu.
...i'm sure if there were cake around he would've juiced it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm chresti:

Haha coel
I steep/soak it in hot water, since the microwave stopped working
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51pm Gary:

There's only $71,808 left to go in WFMU's Year End 2019 HELLRAISER fundraising Raising of the Funds Spectacular-O-Rama!

Would anyone want to pledge $80,000 in support of Bodega Pop Live to bring us over the top before our end-of-month deadline?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm Gary:

It's not really a lot of money when you think about what we spend on the military
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm coelacanth∅:

melinda i'll look for that. i don't drink coffee that often and i don't lighten (and fatten up) my tea but i like coffee with 1/2&1/2 (or heavy cream even better) and i've never found one i like. i'd like to have no dairy in my diet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm ParUbi:

Can I pay over 80,000 years?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm Gary:

I DON'T SEE WHY NOT
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar 9:02pm TDK60:

Hello Gary and Popsters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04pm melinda:

@coel I like cream or 1/2 n 1/2 too, but I mostly avoid cow dairy. I haven't tried any oat milks off the shelf because I fear they will be lame.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04pm Gary:

TDK60!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06pm chresti:

There are recipes for making oatmilk out there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...home again & typing on fone...
Regularly get my espresso mocha with oatmilk @ the local
- figger give the cows a break on one thing - plus oats good for tummy skin brain...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09pm coelacanth∅:

my experience is that they're all to thin. not even like milk. maybe like skim milk? i had coconut coffee creamer that i liked but it gave me a headache.
i've heard cashew milk is pretty good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09pm melinda:

I've made my own coconut milk before but it was never as rich and tasty as the best packaged variety I found. Thinner milk substitutes are ok for putting on cereal but I just need a small amount of something more fatty for using as coffee creamer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm melinda:

@coel I've never understood putting skim or even low fat milk in coffee. Blech.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm coelacanth∅:

i never drink coffee at home so i'm really interested in finding a café that has one i like.
and yes the thinner ones are great for cereal...which i rarely eat! but i do like almond milk for that. it's also good for spirulina shakes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm coelacanth∅:

yeah (@9.11) just drink it black then!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I don't eat animals - but no problem with half&half
...as Vegans will tell you tho - just because cow isn't being killed doesn't mean good things are happening...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16pm coelacanth∅:

the dairy industry is crueler than the meat industry, and to make matters worse the cows don't get to die.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Grimm. But most are lacto *&* carnivorous...@ least I'm only one...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21pm chresti:

I get an oat mocha at blue bottle, before work, not too sweet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Always wanted a great big frame drum...sound of drifting on the Nile I reckon...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:22pm coelacanth∅:

i'm neither. i eat fish and occasional dairy; eggs at least once/week. not proud. not too ashamed! i try.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm coelacanth∅:

chresti i want that. NOW!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Oh yeah - Thee Hamza album...
Plenty of eggs...lets not even go graphic on that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm chresti:
