i mentioned to someone 2 days ago that the main things that ruin the majority of Springsteen's music are 1) the saxophone 2) the piano.
he's a great songwriter, just the high-hype arrangements suck; and Clarence was a mediocre player at best.
this person agreed exactly, which i was surprised at.
Springsteen's album "nebraska" is very good, in my opinion.

Laughing and choking, It's the same thing - I think that's a Joni Mitchell lyric.

I have played in a subordinate role with Farner and a few others of his era. He is a genuine nice guy and very proud of his native American heritage.

Laughing and Choking would make a great song title.

Laughing and Choking was the name of my first band in high school

Laughing and Choking was my favorite Clash album.

Carm i haven't forgotten your Mark Farner story.
and it's good to have affirmation that he's a good guy, because he always seemed like he would be.

I need to know more about Mark Farners guitar, the one made of cast aluminum.

OMG, you remembered that? It was true and embarrassing to me, a humble lesson in “don’t be a douchebag” 101.

g'night chresti
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36pm
coelacanth∅:

it wasn't especially incriminating, Franco; just an example of that we all make some blunders now and then.
i'd bet Mr.Farner put his foot in his mouth at some point in his life as well.
  11:39pm
Carmichael:

I don’t know that, but he was as graceful and sympathetic as a person could be.

How many times have I been a thoughtless ass-wipe trying to get laugh? More that I can remember. Thankfully most of them aren't in an archive.

i don't know that either, but most of us do, at least now and then.

That's the great think about typing this shit out, some times I just go - No, not nice, and scratch the whole thing, unlike me just walking around talking.

Marty, you’re the man. Others may say that they are the man, but you are truly the man.
