In fairly short order, the Drummer Stream will be adding a new show that will air from the future! It will be emanating from Melbourne, Australia, where the time is 14 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm chresti:

Mingus is uncharted territory for me, other than what I've heard on the radio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm chresti:

Wow, so it's 17 hours in the future for Pacific Standard Time
Avatar 8:47pm Kurt Gottschalk:

doug oh no doug!
Avatar 8:49pm Kurt Gottschalk:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm annie:

Avatar 8:51pm Kurt Gottschalk:

oh, i been around the block once or twice, annie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm chresti:

I'll just say I've heard more mingus than SD in my life.
I feel like I'm in a wine bar, or health food market, whenever I hear rikki
Avatar 8:53pm Kurt Gottschalk:

(and sorry it was so loud... oh, i do miss having a limiter sometimes)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm annie:

hehe... i don't even gripe about the Dead.. well, not too much. steely dan never really rung my bell..loved the beethoven selections, though.it's been a lovely night, musically speaking.
Avatar 8:57pm Kurt Gottschalk:

not to worry, you won't be hearing the dead from this dj. man, even david murray couldn't liven those guys up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:00pm chresti:

I try to refrain from sniping about a song in my comments
Avatar 9:00pm Kurt Gottschalk:

things are so genteel over here on the drummer stream!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:03pm chresti:

well, you might run across some snippy listeners, on GTDR
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04pm annie:

fwiw, even when a tune or song comes on that hurts my ears, it'll pass...i'm pretty glad you'll be on tuesday nights for a while..
Avatar 9:06pm TDK60:

I have never ever been snippy or snarky, not here nor anywhere ever never. heheh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07pm chresti:

haha TDK60.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09pm chresti:

You've never been ushered out, though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13pm chresti:

Oho boy, I've seen snippy snarks swiftly escorted out of the room before!
Avatar 9:18pm Kurt Gottschalk:

thx annie
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm chresti:

I made the mistake of sniping about electronic handclaps before...never again!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm chresti:

What annie said
Avatar 9:19pm TDK60:

I hate electronic handclaps. There, I've said it...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm Webhamster Henry:

Hi Kurt - substitute Neighbor!
This Cage / La Barbara is nice on a cold rainy evening.
Avatar 9:27pm Kurt Gottschalk:

hey webham! i'm hoping the rain will have stopped in another half hour or so... but yes, this is a lovely piece.
Avatar 9:28pm TDK60:

Satie meets Cage; huh..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29pm Uncle Michael:

I made it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29pm annie:

Avatar 9:29pm Kurt Gottschalk:

there's actually another satie/cage meeting of sorts. cage wanted to use satie's 'socrates' for a cunningham dance but the estate refused, so he wrote a piece called 'cheap imitation' that sounds like satie!
Avatar 9:30pm Kurt Gottschalk:

(or something like that...)
Avatar 9:31pm Kurt Gottschalk:

joan la barbara got more clicks than paul mccartney!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40pm annie:

Avatar 9:41pm TDK60:

Avatar 9:43pm Kurt Gottschalk:

Avatar 9:53pm Kurt Gottschalk:

tdk, ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm coelacanth∅:

i'm always prepared for Margaret Leng Tan playing something prepared for something prepared
Avatar 9:55pm Kurt Gottschalk:

she's fantastic, isn't she?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58pm coelacanth∅:

she is. though i must say my favorite (that i know of) work of hers is on just a regular (probably very excellent) piano...but that's the composer's fault. (Satoh Somei)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00pm coelacanth∅:

Thanks Kurt! and welcome back
