Hi, Adriene. I've been digging on this show for a month or so. I'm loving the things you put together...it's truly an hour of bliss. And then Hearty White...great Thursday lineup to grade papers to! Thank you.

The company I work for was previously located right next to the Passaic River in Fairfield, NJ and we were flooded out several times. The last instance was back in 2007. There was two feet of standing water inside our offices and workshop. The river did not recede for over a week. We moved to a different location after that.

Mr. Pumpy:

@ kuba - You know...it actually has to do with a type of water pump...come to think of it. Even though some more 'interesting' things may come to mind, It became my trail name while hiking the Appalachian tTrail in '03. I pumped about 4 gallons of water through a hand pump filtration system for 8 or so hikers before we went up to sleep on the top of Blood Mountain in Georgia. Someone later said, "They don't call him Mr. Pumpy for nothing!" And that's usually how most trail names are obtained. Some of my great trail friends, almost 17 years later, have only called me Pumpy. Most drop the Mr., but some keep it formal. ;)

@ Krys O. - Probably by Two Bridges Road...eh? I know that area gets hammered. This whole area of Jersey is absurdly overdeveloped with little mitigation in sight.

@ kuba - I'm glad. My name's Pumpy...Mr. Pumpy if ya nasty....

@Mr. Pumpy: Not far from Two Bridges Road. It was in the Pio Costa development that was built on a swamp.

Have reflected before on this Program's board about Pacific Island Nations that *will* be simply - submerged.

Parts of Bloomfield near the Third River flood after heavy rains. Then there's the fact that Newark is a teacup like New Orleans.
