Superlatively, Adverbial-Lee Lee.

hi, Irwin and folks. still battling sloth and pride, but this opening set is helping.

I'm in with the Revolution.. Good stuff.......

I played tether ball as a kid.

Avatar 3:21pm SSS:

Well....me, anyway
Avatar 3:21pm Irwin:

sss: How so?
Avatar 3:21pm SSS:

Just such an increasing mess, no?
Avatar 3:22pm Irwin:

Kinda sums up the '60s USA pretty well.
Avatar 3:22pm Irwin:

The '60s were a mess. Read history.
Avatar 3:24pm SSS:

The 60's seems to have been just the begining of it. Imagine if all our heroes of THAT time were not assassinated...and the Kennedy's were the dynasty we had...Martin was the first black president, and so on...
Avatar 3:25pm SSS:

I lived them as a young teen.
Avatar 3:27pm SSS:

SSS: Check out the 1930s and '40s. What fun on a global scale!
  3:29pm Mike tp:

I like this Temples band.theyd be a good fit for say Monty hall or the wellmont in Montclair no.whats up with that disappointing venue?
Avatar 3:29pm SSS:

Perhaps Robert Kennedy, as Attorney general, would have stopped Fred Trump from birthing the horror of our current Trump
Avatar 3:31pm SSS:

In a tax scheming sense....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm zopa:

@Irwin Which Wilbury is/was Groucho?
  3:32pm Listener Robert:

If you want to see a TV series about the Kennedys -- Ted and Joe Sr., mostly, but a little of Rose and John too -- watch the first 2-3 seasons of "Smallville" carefully -- and laugh!
Avatar 3:33pm βrian:

Loving this whole Interlude in Orange.
  3:34pm Mike tp:

scintillating pod!!!!! who's on bass? who's on drums?I like it being a big fusion guy from days does gone!!!!
Avatar 3:35pm Irwin:

OK, I hadn't thought this thru, but: Groucho (Dylan), Chico (Jeff Lynne), George (Harpo), Orbison (Zeppo).
  3:35pm Jim S.:

I would like to travel in a time machine with a videotape of Donald Trump shaving Vince McMahon's head at a WWF wrestling match and show it to President Washington.
Avatar 3:36pm glenn:

hmmmm. what's the difference between gluttony and greed, exactly?
Avatar 3:36pm SSS:

Hey, all cool...I just do not look at things as if all politicians as equivalent. These present horrors exist in the vacuum of the assignations of the 60's
Avatar 3:36pm Irwin:

Glenn: They are not synonymous.
Avatar 3:39pm AnAnonymousParty:

Diggin' the Pod Dance. Is this representative of the rest of the album?
Avatar 3:39pm SSS:

@Glenn...the context of the moment
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm zopa:

@Glenn: the object of attachment?
Avatar 3:40pm Wild Neil||Peace All:

@Irwin-what is a good 60's history book? Right now reading Rise and Fall of Third Reich by a newspaper reporter from Chicago. Want to read about the evils of communist Russia et al next (my wife lived through Matial Law in Poland). THEN I want to read a book about how WWI started (apparently nobody agreed how it did! Gavrillo Princip, nobody cares about him and Ferdinand said my expert historian wife!).
Avatar 3:40pm Irwin:

AAP: Don't know the rest of the album. Just discovered this track last week.
Avatar 3:40pm SSS:

And I guess gluttony is sporadic, whereas greed goes on..and on..and on
  3:41pm Colleen:

This is sooo goood
Avatar 3:41pm SSS:

Prince will go on...and on....and on
Avatar 3:42pm AnAnonymousParty:

How many Shondells can you name without looking?

TJ was not a Shondell. He was their Hootie.
Avatar 4:01pm glenn:

not one, unless tommy james is considered a shondell. is this like the 3 musketeers, where d'artagnan doesn't count?
  4:01pm Nekimken:

Has anybody here ever seen Sun Ra’s movie “Space Is the Place?” Great film
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Fuzzy:

Calling somebody a Hootie -- ouch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Parq:

Rolling Stone did a great cover-article feature on 3DN, ca. 1972. Intensive googling would probably dredge it up. I remember enjoying it tremendously, even though I was in the age-17 phase set out above.
Avatar 4:02pm Irwin:

Ken is WFMU's Hootie. The DJs are mere blowfish.
Avatar 4:02pm glenn:

oh man, i never want to be somebody's hootie, and i never want to get a hootie call.

I guess Diana Ross wasn't a Supreme then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm rrg:

"Diana Ross & The Supremes" was revisionism, though. Post-hoc celebrity acknowledgment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Parq:

Fuzzy raises a point -- what about when a group starts out as The and becomes So-and-so And The? Was Rod Stewart a Face?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Fuzzy:

Next they'll be telling me that Katrina wasn't a Wave!

Aside- I mentioned an ALVVAYS interview in new issue of the Big Takeover, last week. I now have the mag; here's 1 bit from singer Molly: "we (met) Noel (Gallagher) at some award thing on the UK, and he came over and made fun of our band name and walked away, and that's exactly what I wanted from a Noel Gallagher exchange!".
  4:13pm berbo:

  4:45pm Mike tp:

Avatar 4:48pm Irwin:

Only track like that on that Sound Factory album, only track written by that writer, Antonio Sampaio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm rrg:

Robyn Hitchcock did a wonderful cover of "Visions of Johanna".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm rsj:

this would be a sweet tricky cover
Avatar 4:54pm newberry:

That Visions of Johanna is the original album version? Haven't heard it in a long time, but I thought it sounded like a different take...
Avatar 4:56pm mb:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm Carmichael:

The Hermits apparently belonged to Herman.

I want to thank rrg for serving as proofreader for today's accu-p-list.
Avatar 5:04pm glenn:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm rrg:

It's the least I can do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Mike East:

We just did backline for Herman's Hermits. Also did sound/backline for Dylan's son last week. Steve Miller is in our studio today. That's all the connections to the playlist for today that I can tell.
  5:16pm Skagbaron:

Thanks! Roy Harper is always welcome.
Are you an old cricketer?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm Carmichael:

Heya Mike East, long time no hear from. Hope the little guy is doing well. Or is he 18 by now?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm Brian in UK:

Hello Irwin and time travellers.
I keep hearing early Al Stewart.
Avatar 5:21pm glenn:

what brian said.
Avatar 5:21pm Irwin:

Skag: I love the exceedingly long foreplay of this Harper tune before it suddenly becomes something else.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm Mike East:

@Carmichael - Yeah, I've been way less commenty since my boyo was born....three kids means more focus on making money to pay bills, less time for whatever this is. Still listenin', though.
Avatar 5:25pm Fredericks:

Fuzzy raises a point -- what about when a group starts out as The and becomes So-and-so And The? Was Rod Stewart a Face?

Rod Stewart, not only was a Face, for a short time, he was a Small Face.
Avatar 5:27pm Fredericks:

Hey Irwin, I read an article which may lead you to modify your "H" hotel theory.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Lizardner Dave Somethingorother:

Hope the vacuuming's going OK.
  5:29pm Skagbaron:

Lovely stuff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm Carmichael:

Continuing the postulation, who was Zeppo Wilbury?
  5:30pm Skagbaron:

A tribute to the prisoner, I think
Avatar 5:30pm Irwin:

LizDave: finished before the band came in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm rrg:

When I was a youngster, "Peaceful World" by The Rascals (a 25-minute track) was what we played when we had to do the vacuuming.

This song's really straining the vinyl ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Brian in UK:

@Skagbaron. Be seeing you.
