WFMU plays consistently better curated jazz than the stupid "world class jazz station" in Toronto. Ug. I learn about SO MUCH here.
  3:22pm Fashion Tashjian:

Hello all and Fabio, I believe this is my first time checking in since the schedule changed this year. Your 2010 premium was amazing. I'm always listening but seldom checking in at these hours as I'm usually cooking food for us, but this time it's soup si I have moments of downtime. Stay strong & doomed to fail. Love from Armenia.)))

@Fabio-how are you able to get SO MUCH different music on your show each week? Are these all YOUR records, or WFMU's or what?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm steveo:

the secret to wfmu is that when they run out of good jazz they can just switch to a different genre

  4:19pm Welsh Rarebit:

I listen to WFMU about 3000 miles away from jersey city because nothing in the UK can touch it. Some European stations are pretty freeform, but still not as good and aren't English speaking. WFMU is like that weird friend I had in high school who used to make me listen to his older brothers record collection and blow my poor brains out.

  4:27pm Out-of-work copy editor:

There was New Yorker article this year that had a reference to "Welsh rabbit."
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:28pm The Oscar:

Man, that made me miss the pre-viral days when you had to arrange trades of physical media with strangers to get stuff like that (or from WFMU's "Irritainment" specials)
  4:28pm Welsh Rarebit:

I hope bob managed to trade his $10 for a million bucks. He would have some mad business acumen.
  4:31pm melinda:

Avatar 4:31pm geezerette:

Sorry I'm late Fabio; and I have to leave early...geez.
  4:34pm Welsh Rarebit:

Hi, Melinda. And OOW copy editor, I'm Welsh and I still don't really know what Welsh rabbit/rarebit is tbh. It's like b├ęchamel on toast or something? The national dish is probably cawl (sp?) which is basically chucking any meat and veg into a stew. We're not very interesting.

Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:52pm chresti:

yes-must have!
Avatar 4:54pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

The poorly named Exorcist III (originally to be titled Legion) was rather good, and the fan edit (ifdb.fanedit.org...) that turns it back into the Legion film William Peter Blatty wanted to make is rather rather good.
Avatar 4:56pm geezerette:

LL, I love Ginsberg. Courageous guy. Kind of a 20th c. Whitman.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:09pm common:

So good n creepy
  5:10pm Welsh Rarebit:

I think Shelley Duvall was really attentive around the shining and Popeye. That shit where "Dr Phil" tried to help her (in front of the media, recording it for all to see) made me feel sad. Didn't feel like a genuine intervention, more like trashy P.T. Barnum television.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Michael 98145:

Rosemary's was Satan's rebound choice ... the first gal threw herself out the window.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm Michael 98145:

... we are living thru a lot of trashy P.T. Barnum television these days.
  5:19pm wfmu listener phillip:

mia farrow thats one heck of a rebound choice. satan must have been drunk at a local bar to pick her up
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:20pm dale:

satan knew if she was good enough for sinatra she was good enough to spawn the demon's child.
Avatar 5:22pm geezerette:

Hey Michael, we feel the same way.
It's like that orange guy is Barnum and the rest of the planet is Jumbo.
