Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from September 14, 2018 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Finally, fresh marbles! Perfect return tracks here. I've been hiding out in the 2004 archives all summer (and recommend August 8 as an extra good set).

I've experienced all the stages of Brycelessness this summer: dry ears, the shakes, marble buildup, etc. Nice to have you back, old chum!

John Allen had the gall to suggest you'd be 20 minutes late today, Bryce. Where on Earth did he get such an outre idea? Throw marbles at him.

I was reading about the diplomats in Cuba and China who have been getting sick after hearing strange sounds. One person described the sounds as something like marbles rolling around a metal funnel. I was wondering if someone had piped in Bryce's show to the embassies?

Dan_In_Baltimore:

I was so sad when you took the summer off - yeah B is back!

Good point Steveo. Reminds me of another story from the recent news about how authorities in Berlin are going to start playing atonal music in subway stations to discourage loitering. That could have the opposite effect on me.

@Chris and Ranjit: Chris is so right on this one. I actually won the Ciani/Smith "Sunergy" album as a prize during the 2017 WFMU marathon and have listened to it no less than 30 times in the year since. It's gorgeous.

Joe Jones sounds a lot like King Crimson noodling. By the way just ordered Led Zeppelin's Physical Graffitti for my 14 year old. He also got a free King Crimson Court of the Crimson King recently as I got a duplicate from a coworker's father who also likes The Sopranos like I do. My 14 year old is going through his Led Zeppelin phase.

i'm not ashamed of any of my phases; and most of them turned out to be "not-phases". i still like yes and steppenwolf -occasionally elp, etc etc. i am selective though, as i was then. most bands started sucking at some point.

...okay, boston was a phase. and i'm not not ashamed of it. BUT IT WAS JUST A 1-ALBUM-LONG PHASE!

Enjoyed John Saint Pelvyn, Bryce. Love the comments, I too rarely listen to this show but I'll make it my life choice phase to try. Rediscovered Phys Graffitti 10 years ago, it's pretty good. And Hey, Chicago's 1st album ain't bad but I'm glad to have FMU and let the commercial stations play the top 40.

@sphere @Carmichael - as i recall, Damone insists that he play Zep IV (i thought it was side 2), but then we cut to them listening to Physical Graffiti in the car on their date. Maybe that's why the date didn't go as planned...
