Setting my hair but I'm here!
  6:11pm Coleusound:

yo Janky, you like synths or what?
  6:12pm Just Bill:

Just yesterday I watched a documentary about wfmu on Sundance channel and I was so intrigued. I had never heard of wfmu even though I used to live in Brooklyn back in '95. Amazing radio! Late to the party but I'm glad I made it! Greetings from Athens, Greece.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm Carmichael:

Heya Bill, welcome to the best radio station in the world!
  6:16pm coleusound:

welcome just bill. there is. this cult pretty much sells itself
  6:16pm Sarah Montreal:

Oooo I like it already
  6:17pm miles:

U don't need to be corduroy
  6:17pm Just Bill:

Much love Carmichael!
  6:17pm Sarah Montreal:

Where did I find joy before WFMU? It had to be there right?
Avatar 6:19pm northguineahills:

@Bill: Awesome, Bill! I love that doc too!

This Blonde Redhead destroys me every time.
  6:19pm fredrik:

I am moving into nyc this very moment. Car full of everything I own, 10 minutes from my new address
  6:20pm Just Bill:

I swear...if all radio stations were like this, people would watch much much less at those brain numbing TV boxes....
Avatar 6:22pm northguineahills:

Cool frederik, take my place, I moved out exactly a year ago after 17 years. I kept the city warm.
  6:23pm Sarah Montreal:

The roku in my AIRBNB in Montreal has been used solely for WFMU streaming and Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube. #VacationAlone
Avatar 6:23pm northguineahills:

what Bill said.....
Avatar 6:25pm david_:

why would you HATE a season, good one
Avatar 6:26pm northguineahills:

I miss NYC winters (in FL now) It was my favorite season (until it's below freezing in late March/April)
  6:26pm Jocelyn:

NGH, Do you miss it?
  6:27pm Jocelyn:

Love Montreal, went to university there
  6:29pm Just Bill:

I spent a good 6 first months in NYC without a single friend. I asked the waitress at the diner wherever I could get a beeper (remember those?) and she was like "what are you gonna do with it Bill? Who's gonna beep you? You don't know anyone! "
Avatar 6:29pm northguineahills:

@Jocelyn: Like the heat of a thousand suns (whoops, wrong metaphor). Hell. yeah! (still wrong). I'll just go w/ "yes".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Sarah Goshen:

@Jocelyn all these McGill students were getting a tour of the city the other day.

Last night it was frosh drink night or something. Lol Brought me back to undergrad memories. so cute. Is that where you went? Or UQAM? Concordia?
  6:31pm Jocelyn:

Yes, McGill
Avatar 6:31pm northguineahills:

I was lucky, I moved up w/ my long term gf (we broke up 18 mos later), and about 20 of my undergrad friends moved up w/in the same year.
  6:32pm coleusound:

I would hate driving if wfmu did not exist
Avatar 6:32pm northguineahills:

I miss visiting Montreal (used to promote for the Mutek fest for free tix)
Avatar 6:33pm northguineahills:

oh, and boss Young Fathers track!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:33pm steveo:

moved to nyc in 1995 with no job, burned through my savings then started using credit cards to pay the rent. can't recommend this method, but it mostly worked out. the first night I was afraid to go outside (2nd ave & 4th st)

hi ray, i'm lovin' the show tonight
  6:34pm Jocelyn:

It's amusing though. When I went there, it was difficult to get in. Then when I moved to NYC people would ask if McGill was "one of those tv colleges".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:35pm Sarah Goshen:

Oh no. It seems legit.
  6:35pm Jocelyn:

Or even now they ask if it's an Internet college like U of Phoenix
Avatar 6:36pm northguineahills:

@Jocelyn: I know McGill, Most of my Montreal friends I stayed w/ went there, usually I was walking distance from the campus.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm DJ Large Margin:

sw33t pick of the week, JSG
Avatar 6:38pm GloTato:

This takes me WAAAY back to when I was a young'un and made the move from Laramie to Baltimore. Breakup a couple months in checks out :-)
Great show JR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm Passaic River Blues:

Loving Rollercoasterwater.
  6:39pm chris in london:

thanks for the great music!
check out this movie- believe it or not its about a DJ who gets involved in a rivalry between 2 opposing ice cream sellers!

  6:40pm Jocelyn:

NGH, it killed my ego lol Here I was feeling like I survived a prestigious university only to find out not many outside Canada knew of it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm Sarah Goshen:

Jocelyn that is so weird. I have always thought it had a high reputation.
  6:40pm coleusound:

new question Janky. do you like samplers?
  6:40pm Jocelyn:

Never ended up using my education for anything though so it's okay. I loved those years in Montreal though. It's such a beautiful, dreamy place.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm Sarah Goshen:

I think us Americans are just generally oblivious to most things Canadian. A shame really.
Avatar 6:41pm northguineahills:

@Jocelyn: I new about it's reputation before I even moved to NYC (and got a Montreal connection), but I'm a big nerd, so, I might be an outlier.
  6:44pm Jocelyn:

NGH, you're a rarity
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:45pm chris:

hi, everyone. digging lightbird! gonna miss this show, Janky Ray.
  6:47pm Jocelyn:

Sarah, we should improve relations! There are too many misconceptions on both sides. I still meet people who ask if I lived in an igloo in Vancouver.
Avatar 6:49pm northguineahills:

I used to go to Leonard Cohen's fave cafe for brunch. Can't remember the name of it for the life of me. I think it was on Sherbrooke....
Avatar 6:50pm northguineahills:

@Sarak: us American are oblivious (unless we woofmoo)
Avatar 6:50pm northguineahills:

errr... Sarah
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm steveo:

i woofmoo and i'm oblivious, so the venn diagram is tricky
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm steveo:

(and, the plot thickens, i do know about mcgill)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm steveo:

lightbird was great
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm steveo:

steveo stop commenting so much
Avatar 6:53pm northguineahills:

err... Americans... I need booze and sleep!

what steveo said about Lightbird!
Avatar 6:54pm northguineahills:

I can probably leave work in 40 mins or so, thanks Janky (would leave early, if like steveo I wasn't commenting so much)
  6:54pm Jocelyn:

NGH, Did the infection go away?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55pm Ken From Hyde Park:

My parents & I were visiting Montréal in November one year and wet snow began falling. We were driving up some hilly neighborhood in an old section of town and my car began sliding downhill. If that wasn't bad enough, a big garbage truck was sliding down towards us. Luckily, I was able to regain control and get out of its path.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm Sarah Goshen:

sarag

gotta get some work done! commment listttt a danngerous thinggggg peace out
  6:57pm ratso:

You got me moving with thee thee
Avatar 6:57pm northguineahills:

@Jocelyn: It appeared to, but it seems to be back, but, I'm waiting until Saturday to refill my antibiotics so I can drink tonight.
  6:57pm ratso:

Did I spell that right?
Avatar 6:58pm Just Bill:

  6:58pm Jocelyn:
