Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm Gary:

The Boot is what we give to all listeners who DON'T GET OUR CUTE COUNTRY NICKNAME REFERENCES!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm listener james from westwood:

It was literally 10 min long, so easy to miss if not tuned in that day. I'm sure it's somehow searchable in her archives.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm Gary:

Just kidding, Chresti ... come on in, the leather's fine
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm listener james from westwood:

"Disparaging the boot is a bootable offense!"

Jeff! Mina wants to be your man
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm Gary:

She's put out at least one album per year since 1958 ... and has had at least one number 1 album every decade since the 60s
  7:42pm Jeff g.:

I'm not in Mina's league. That is an impressive run!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm chresti:

Seems that she would be on "The Monte Carlo Show"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm Gary:

Haha, could be

Avatar 8:30pm northguineahills:

Parick Cowley does an insane "I Feel Love" mix. seek it!
Avatar 8:32pm northguineahills:

(first heard small change play that mix live)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm Gary:

15 mins, if I recall!
Avatar 8:34pm hyde:

that was so good, as always
Avatar 8:36pm northguineahills:

errr, Patrick (t key is sticking)
Avatar 8:49pm still b/p:

Sad I tuned in late. The place is hot. Because I left ONE window open in the bathroom for the day and the heat made itself at home throughout. Hot's a naughty squatter.
"I Feel Love" very high on the list of tunes that kept neural system in neutral back in the day but now really rings the brain-bell.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm Gary:

b/p! Yeah, it has aged incredibly incredibly well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52pm listener james from westwood:

Always loved how "Scarface"-y this Daft Punk one felt.
Avatar 8:53pm northguineahills:

I have the opposite problem, my meds make me freezing, I have my thermostat at 81 (as stipulated by the lease, to avoid mold), and I have two layers on and am still cold, going to put on a third. (usually I'm in short sleeves when it's 57F/14C, so this feels weird to me [been like this for two weeks])
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:53pm Gary:

I definitely ouched the oppty to play something from that OST
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm Gary:

Dang -- at 81 I'm sweating
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm Gary:

Love Omar Hakim's drums on this
Avatar 8:56pm tim abdellah:

68 degrees and sunny here in Berkeley. Buonasera, y'all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm Gary:

Tim! Now, see, *that*'s my style of weather
Avatar 8:58pm still b/p:

Wow, ngh...hot drinks or something can't help sustain warmer comfort and counter the effect?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:00pm Parq:

And here, I was looking forward to the mike break so I could find out from you how to pronounce it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:01pm chresti:

Tim, I'm jealous!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:02pm Parq:

Yeah, and I was just thinking that too -- I dug "Feel Love" even in the height (or depths, as you may see it) of my disco-hating.
Avatar 9:03pm hyde:

i did not know about the Moroder/Creedence thing. hm.
Avatar 9:03pm coelacanth∅:

greetings Gary & Bodegatrons
Avatar 9:04pm hyde:

hiya coel!
Avatar 9:04pm tim abdellah:

@chresti - yeah, pretty chill. it gets hotter in September/October usually.

@Gary - I LOOOOOOVE "I Feel Love". Sorry I missed it, and the Mina set too. Work is nuts...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05pm Gary:

Parq! Coel! It is a mistake to come to me for pronounciation advice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05pm chresti:

Hi coel!
Avatar 9:06pm northguineahills:

I used to sweat at 76. Body temperature is normal, it's just an affect on my dermal circulatory system. Can't wait to wear shorts again (I wear long sleeves in my car, and my car A/C just died, and it was 95F/35C outside, and I felt fine. Bizarre.
Avatar 9:08pm coelacanth∅:

hey there hyde & chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm chresti:

@tim- will be up there again Dec-Jan
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14pm chresti:

I am best with upper 50s to low 70s range
Avatar 9:17pm coelacanth∅:

oh i see - 68 & sunny. i'd like that, but i prefer 80. shorts & t-shirt. not too hot for bicycling; not too cool for swimming. can sit and drink hot tea in the shade, or iced coffee in the sun. women wear less clothing! beer tastes better! more people out with their dogs...
Avatar 9:19pm tim abdellah:

@chresti - hopefully we get some rain this winter, but not when you're here! Where do you live?

Hi Coe - Google told me 68, but it felt more like 75. I was sweating and drinking hot coffee.
Avatar 9:19pm hyde:

if we're talking about the weather, the heat index where as 104 degrees today during my mile walk home. i did not enjoy it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20pm Gary:

That's harsh! Same w/my half hour wait for the bus on the sidewalk in northern Jersey
Avatar 9:21pm hyde:

"where as" is supposed to be "here was", which is a grammatical nightmare
Avatar 9:23pm northguineahills:

When healthy. I'm comfy 57F-98F, I rarely sweat, unless exercising or performing physical labor. But I usually prefer the cold. So,... this is fine....
Avatar 9:23pm coelacanth∅:

yikes that's hot! i can do that though, at least sometimes - 'depends what i'm doing, what i'm wearing, what i've eaten...stay hydrated
Avatar 9:25pm coelacanth∅:

hey tim... yeah people sometimes say i'm crazy for drinking hot beverages in heat but i don't find it makes much difference either way, and i love tea but not iced so much. i don't drink iced coffee until it hits at least 90f.
Avatar 9:27pm hyde:

i don't like iced coffee except the Vietnamese kind with condensed milk
Avatar 9:28pm northguineahills:

I drink hot yerba mate and tea year-round, always have.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm Gary:

Great, now I need a Vietnamese coffee and a Thai tea
Avatar 9:29pm coelacanth∅:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33pm Gary:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36pm Gary:

Wait, Coel -- you've never had Vietnamese iced coffee? OMG, you're in for a treat
Avatar 9:36pm hyde:

yeah, it's great
Avatar 9:37pm coelacanth∅:

dayum! i want it RIGHT NOW!
(but i guess i'll wait until friday)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm Gary:

Why Friday? (That just seems so random, unless I missed a connecting comment above?)
  9:40pm Dean:

Friday is International Vietnamese Iced Coffee Day.
Avatar 9:41pm Franco Twinkie:

Jeez, Coel. There's a Vietnamese restaurant across the street you should have said something, I was just out.
Avatar 9:42pm coelacanth∅:

haha sorry! -i'm working in ct and don't intend to leave the premises all day tomorrow. there is a vietnamese restaurant in town for maybe a year now (where i live -not where i am) but i've never gone in because it looks like a diner and i was told it's mostly meat; but it's stupid that i haven't checked it out for myself.

Avatar 9:45pm Franco Twinkie:

Yes, please do yourself a favor and go in! They probably have something you can eat. If not...coffee!
Avatar 9:46pm northguineahills:

Group should have played w/ The Groop (on the Midnight Cowboy sndtrk and where Stereolab nicked that moniker) Also, banco del muto soccorso, new to me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46pm Gary:

And I say that as a sad man with a 3.5-hour daily commute who wakes up at 5 am during the week, weeping
  9:47pm Dean:

Now listening. Yes! A buddy of mine worked several prog shows in Southern California and Baja, including reunions of Le Orme.
Avatar 9:47pm tim abdellah:

This music is epic!
Avatar 9:48pm northguineahills:

Found Vietnamese here, it's not NYC Chinatown, but it's acceptable (if also expeneive)
  9:48pm Dean:

Are we in for RDM, perhaps?
Avatar 9:48pm Franco Twinkie:

Well even the Mexican bakery I was just in Uber Eats. So how far is Connectcut? Is that near Arizona?
Avatar 9:49pm coelacanth∅:

connecticut's *kinda* near arizona...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49pm Gary:

These Italian prog albums were all plucked from the shelves of RBG (or is it RGB) Bookstore in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn ... the owner, Russian, has a thing for world prog
Avatar 9:50pm northguineahills:

@Gary: I thought fresh out of college, having a 90 minute driving commute each way was rough (and I djed some weeknights). Youch, Gary! Well, you know what I sacrificed for my current job....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm Gary:

Dean, sadly, I am ignorant of RDM ... school me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51pm Gary:

Well, it's 3.5 counting both ways, so 1.5 hours in and usually 2 coming home
