saw Beefheart with the Trout Mask era Magic Band in Marin County at a place called Pepper Land... circa 1970, they opened for Hot Tuna their first acoustic incarnation... needless to say the Captain's band blew them away...

I read years ago that Ernie Kovacs and Edie Adams owned one of the first telephone answering machines in the early 60's and that Ernie would frequently change his messages and had a ball with it! I wonder if the tapes survived?

saw ELO sans Jeff at the Cole Muffler Court in Syracuse at the New York State Fair... free show and they delivered the hits and sounded just fine... Saw the Jeff ELO last year at Radio City... great show, with todays' technology and Jeff's voice it worked... Jeff and the band delivered the goods...
