I must share. When Bat Chain Puller came out, Don did a promo thing at the radio station down the street from my house. I grabbed my Trout Mask album and high tailed it down there to intercept him as he came out the back door. He was very gracious as he autographed my record. Then his intense blue eyes focused on the thrift store rag of a jacket I was wearing and said: " That jacket is beautiful man.You know, I invented punk rock".(!?)
