Je dis oui au non-non-non.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm Rob Kopp:

The English version of Michel Polareff's version of La poupee qui fait non is called No, no, no, no, no. I don't think an official version was ever released. Just an advance promo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm DC:

Hey DJ and Boomers, glad to be listening along here! Great sounding No's happening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Adrian in London:

Hmm, I think there's some kind of theme to this set but I just can't put my finger on it…
Avatar 3:15pm djsheilab:

Rob Kopp—You have 15 versions of "La Poupee Qui Fait Non?" Lotsa female ones? I love Dana Gillespie's version.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm steveo:

That reminded me a little of the sweetest part of the Wayside School books, when Todd tells Mrs. Jewls that he loves her.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm steveo:

I mean Dameon. (Duh.)
Avatar 3:16pm D. Lightfoot:

She'd not as bad as the others

Avatar 3:43pm D. Lightfoot:

pre-breakfast regret?
Avatar 3:43pm JakeGould:

@djsheilab: The thing with Aaron Sorkin—and Matthew Weiner—is the create all this deep drama that is only acceptable if it’s in a serial show that compels you to watch next week, and then discuss intensely inbetween.

But take all of those high concept drama points and shove them in a 2 hour film? It’s horrible.

My condolences. I hope America can learn to make great films again.

Even though the selling point of Molly's character in both the book and the film is that she never sold anyone out, I still didn't find her someone I'd want to cheer for. Which might possibly say something awful about my own character and personality.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm Adrian in London:

@Sheila She's from Brighton, I read. I'll keep an eye out for her.

Avatar 3:53pm northguineahills:

(That was 2001)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm BronwynB:

@Sheila: Yes, I always feel kinda bad because I love Fleetwood Mac for being so driven by women's songwriting, but then almost all my favorite songs by them are Lindsey's. But he has a girl's name so perhaps he is an honorary girl :)

Jocelyn—I agree. She was not a likable character, and neither was anyone in the film really.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Rob Kopp:

@Sheila: So Sara was the missing one from the row mentioned in Record Collector? Dark shadows and empty hallways, A girl in love forgives, I never dreamed and Mister loveman. Or do you, just like me, have a new top 5 every now and then, depending on the mood you're in :-)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Adrian in London:

@TDK60 In British English it's cardamum ;-)
Avatar 4:13pm JakeGould:

@EarlyMorningInSeoul: Cool stuff. Important to me is the “threat” or “victim” PoV. We all understand the irrational threat side of things. As a child of immigrants, I know straight out the “victim” side of can be as patronizing and insulting as the “threat” PoV. JUST TREAT PEOPLE AS PEOPLE!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Rob Kopp:

I saw another fifth one that I overlooked: Be my baby. But's it's okay, Sheila. I'm always having new top 5's and I'm almost sure everyone has. Only my #1 is always the same since 1965: Like a rolling stone.

I tried instant Cardamom coffee in my neighborhood. It’s not bad, but I cannot imagine having a taste for that where I crave it all the time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Booz:

Psyched for the new Habibi, gonna be good.
Avatar 4:15pm EarlyMorningInSeoul:

@JakeGould: totally agree. It's definitely interesting for me living/working in another country to understand how difficult immigration can be, especially if you can't even speak the language!
Avatar 4:18pm JakeGould:

@EarlyMorningInSeoul: My neighborhood is heavily middle eastern and as one of the few “white guys” who interacts with folks in hijabs and their kids, it’s astonishes me still how easy it is to just be nice to people—like hold doors open, help carry crap up stairs and such—and that is enough for people to feel welcome.

Just treating others as normal people is a big thing few people do.
Avatar 4:19pm TDK60:

Hello Adrian, Yes, I know the cardamum spelling too. // On another touchy subject: let the immigrants in. Human migration is a right.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Rob Kopp:
