@Kurt
What was your impression of George Lewis' book. I adored it, of course, but I found its scholarly tone unnecessary and distracting. Lewis probably felt required to produce a "serious" tome to satisfy academia. Still couldn't put it down, though.
Avatar 2:10pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

LIfe Line ABC! that makes great sense, jeff!
Avatar 2:12pm
Kurt Gottschalk:

doug, if you know george, that's just kind of the way he is - a born academe. i was disappointed by a couple of small mistakes from the time after he left chicago but they were inconsequential, really (in fact, i don't remember what they were). it's an invaluable book and, since the aacm is fairly a guarded group, nobody else could have written it (i fantasized about it but i never would have been given the kind of access he had).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:20pm
Doug Schulkind:

I am happy to know the book reflects George's own instincts. As it absolutely should be.
