Hello, all you beautiful radio people!
  3:30pm McGreivey:

It's Only Make Believe: I Louvre this song. Don't think I've ever heard Conway Twitty's.
  3:30pm McGreivey:

ummmm LOVE
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm Scott Williams:

I love these late 50s/early 50s tracks that just rise incrementally up the scale to ratchet up the intensity
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Scott Williams:

Heyyy, welcome Fox!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Hello Scott n' Alles. Yup, enjoyed that rampin' uo. This K & C is amazing.
  3:34pm wendy del formaggio:

Hey Scott! This song makes me think of "Houses" by Elyse Weinberg, but I've been thinking of that song a lot lately because it's so good.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Meant "up" not uo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm BronwynB:

my favorite song that does that is gene pitney's "im gonna be strong". i recently heard frankie laine's version and he didn't even bother with the final high notes, which was kinda funny.
Avatar 3:39pm geezerette:

That WAS great and I don't even like Paul Anka.
Should never have watched,"Lonely Boy".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm BronwynB:

OH SHIT i just googled it and found out frankie laine's version came first. sorry, frankie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm BronwynB:

i really gotta start googling BEFORE i comment
  3:40pm BnowB:

Avatar 3:44pm Chris from DC:

You should do that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm Scott Williams:

  3:45pm wendy del formaggio:

The answer to, "Hawkwind?" is pretty much always, "Yes."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Scott Williams:

Hi Wendy~!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Polyus:

Lemmy's story about getting pressed into bass duties is a good one and involves this song. "Make some noise in 'E'"
Avatar 3:48pm geezerette:

NGH, do we dig it?! :D
  3:50pm wendy del formaggio:

Hi Scott! Nice to tune in today. Sad I missed Steely Dan, but I have that LP so I'll live. Did you know it's 90 degrees in Vermont right now? All the snow is melting!
Avatar 3:55pm geezerette:

this is sooooo GOOD!
  3:56pm bloopy:

Hey Scott and friends
Avatar 3:57pm βrian:

It's been in the 90s in Wisconsin, too. Ugh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Scott Williams:

bout 90 in JC too, yall... I miss those cool autumnal weeks in late August
  3:58pm wendy del formaggio:

Brian in Wisconsin: in our respective states, the cheese will melt into the streets, causing destruction and nacho shortages!
Avatar 3:59pm geezerette:

90 degrees in L.A. too. Hideous.
  3:59pm McGreivey:

I've trying to take a NAP here, but you're playing music that's keeping my BRAIN awake. ARGH
Avatar 4:01pm βrian:

Maybe it will give us a late-season tomato boost. We're 50 quarts short of our goal. We may have to do a tomato marathon.
  4:01pm melinda:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Scott Williams:

Danke DC Chris! Wendy, with you there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Scott Williams:

Northern NJ bands totally get that autumn vibe
  4:22pm wendy del formaggio:

Scott, which other north Jersey autumnal LPs or songs do you recommend? I love music that makes me think of seasons.
Avatar 4:25pm Roberto:

  4:25pm Ike:

Awesome skip.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm MD:

  4:27pm tp:

that was incredible
Avatar 4:29pm northguineahills:

Broken rhythms, good usage of techno difficulties, beats not friendly to the dancefloor.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:17pm BennettCap:

I love Lee Hazlewood. Thanks Scott!
Avatar 5:18pm TDK60:

Laughing by Crosby is one of my all time faves, somehow devastatingly blue. That's Garcia on the steel guitar at the end.
  5:23pm Listener142985:

Snoopy loved his Sopwith Camel, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm dale:

had to log in to clicky star popul vuh and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm Scott Williams:

@dale, thanks for the reminder, haven't listened to 3rd ear band in years - gonna dust that off
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm dale:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35pm Scott Williams:

  5:37pm medson:

Howdy Bjarne
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:38pm Stanley:

Avatar 5:38pm TDK60:

Heldon has been a fun discovery for me. // And, to be repetitive, If I Could Only Remember My Name is a return-to album for me. Not perfect but almost. Ethereal, stoned, loose almost-improv, angry, delicate; good for a late afternoon in your own room, with the sun setting.
Avatar 5:41pm geezerette:

TDK60, agree about Crosby record, & only just discovered it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Bjarne:

Reading up on Heldon just now. Was it maybe the song, Stand By, from the album with the same name. which also contains the song Une Drôle de Journée.
Une Drôle de Journée only lasts about 4 min.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Uncle Michael:

A longtime acquaintance of mine engineered IICORMN. If I did interviews I'd love to get him on my show.

Scott, you're really cooking today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Scott Williams:

Good catch, Bjarne! Back cover and record label have inconsistent track listing. It is indeed Stand By
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Scott Williams:

Thanks Uncle Michael - yeah, get that guy on your show with stories!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Uncle Michael:

He worked on a lot of beloved albums.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Bjarne:
