Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43am medson:

Hydrox is the brand name for a creme-filled chocolate sandwich cookie manufactured by Leaf Brands. It originally debuted in 1908, and was manufactured by Sunshine Biscuits for over ninety years.[1] The similar Oreo cookie, introduced later in 1912, was inspired by the Hydrox.

  6:46am Bluesman:

From Wik:

Hydrox is the brand name for a creme-filled chocolate sandwich cookie manufactured by Leaf Brands. It originally debuted in 1908, and was manufactured by Sunshine Biscuits for over ninety years.[1] The similar Oreo cookie, introduced later in 1912, was inspired by the Hydrox. However, the Oreo eventually exceeded it in popularity which resulted in the Hydrox coming to be perceived as an imitator, even though it was the original.[2] Hydrox was largely discontinued in 1999 after Sunshine was acquired by Keebler, which would later be acquired by Kellogg's. In September 2015, the product was re-introduced by Leaf Brands. Compared to Oreos, Hydrox cookies have a less-sweet filling and a crunchier cookie that gets less soggy in milk.[3]

This article is about the cookie brand. For the breathing gas, see Hydrox (breathing gas).

Avatar 6:47am Tokey (bnowb):

I ate the hydrox with nutter butters.. Thank you good night
  6:49am Bluesman:

Hydrox derived its name from the atoms that make up the water molecule (hydrogen and oxygen). In 1908, the creators of the cookie were looking for a name that would convey "purity and goodness."[2]"

My Mom is down in Florida visiting my aunt and uncle--bunch of family staying down there together; she is already starting the whole process of getting more medicine from CVS as she only brought a week's worth with her (bad move; I always would grab the whole bottle of stuff if I need it). And, my aunt and uncle just got a new house down there. OTOH if she is stuck down there she will be with close family.
  7:24am Cooh John:

YES Threemoons. They had the $5 beer/shot special with Pabts till the distributor honked off the owner. Kept the special with a local brewery. SC! Nice to see you stepping out of the clown car in whiteface. A friend of mine from that bar just moved to Puerto Rico.

Yeah, Threemoons. Still waiting on Sears. 2 weeks ago Sears blanketed the neighborhood with door hangers bragging they were #1 in appliance service.
Avatar Wake Supporter Marathon 2020 Swag For Life Member 7:29am Threemoons:

Cooh John--Sears? That 'splains it. My Mom has all Sears stuff, and a service contract that my late Stepdad bought a zillion years ago, and because it's under warranty they take their own sweet time fixing ANYTHING. One trip to have a sleepy guy see what's wrong, another one for him to bring the wrong part, and a third or fourth visit to finally fix anything.
Avatar 7:30am Jersey Cowboy:

Morning Clay!
Avatar Wake Supporter Marathon 2020 Swag For Life Member 7:31am Threemoons:

My stuff is newish GE but still out of warranty. I am torn between waiting for the repairs like this time around, versus calling Some Guy the next time where they can pop off to the huge Home Depot for contractors out here in Astoria and get the fix done in one or two trips in two DAYS, not at least 2 weeks. My biggest fear is that since the thermostat and/or defrost timer is borked, the compressor will burn out and then I will be up the shit. Good luck out there!
  7:31am Cooh John:

I should have known, SC. I had clown white makeup for my 2nd Kiss concert. Perhaps the first to do so.

I got a soft spot for T-Rex too.. I love his voice and delivery. and lyrics and ... lol
Avatar Wake Supporter Marathon 2020 Swag For Life Member 7:32am Threemoons:

Mind you, the only reason why I didn't call Some Guy in the first place is that Queens and NYC in general is crawling with small repair shops--some of these guys are brilliant but some of them do things bass ackwards and you wind up doing 5 repairs over a month for $600 instead of just letting GE do it once for the same amount of money but only one bout of aggravation. GOOD LUCK CJ in Wayne!
