Hi Scott and listeners!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Michael 98145:

can't wait to be ecstatic. or is that ex-static?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Matt from Springfield:

Atmospheric start today!
Hi Scott and all you Scotians out there!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Matt from Springfield:

@Michael: From "ex" static: you used to be standing still, now you're moving about with joy. Ex-static.

And hi!
Avatar 3:05pm Sem Chumbo:

NOVA Scotians, if you will, Mr. Matt of the Springfield.
Hiya, Scott, and Williamses.

Album title now "I Love Disc Rot on Brand New Discs!: Part 2, NOW!"

The Nova, yet somehow still Eternal Scotian - hiya Mr. Sem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Wendy del Formaggio:

This rocks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm Scott Williams:

Welcome friends! Let's stamp out disc rot together
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Uncle Michael:

Hey man...is that FREEDOM rot?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Matt from Springfield:

Zing! Hi UM!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:13pm Uncle Michael:

Hey, Matt.
  3:14pm JakeGould:

Rot disc! *grabs old Jimmy Webb CD from 1988 that was pressed but rotted*
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Michael 98145:

damned hackers.
  3:18pm Dean:

Anybody lining up any Holdsworth tributes?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Matt from Springfield:

Strong enough bass, one could make a good Dub track out of this Dub Dickerson.
  3:19pm will:

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Avatar 3:19pm Cecile:

Got any Phil Manzanera and 801 floating around?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Michele:

Oh man I love this track!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm Scott Williams:

me too Michele! @Cecile, I pulled some Roxy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Scott and agents of freeform. On Michele's behalf, please don't play any tracks that she plans on playing tomorrow morning.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm Wendy del Formaggio:

It is springtime again! My car is getting its snow tires taken off at this very moment. That's a very important occasion.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm Greg from ZONE 5:

  3:27pm melinda:

I should get my snow tires changed too, I always forget and do it late.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Melinda, depending where you live, if you wait just a few months, you won't have to bother.
Avatar 3:29pm Chris from DC:

Cool, a Factory band I haven't heard before.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Scott Williams:

Avatar 3:30pm Cecile:

Scott, great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Michael 98145:

( i can just see this dance number in my head )
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Matt from Springfield:

Groovy and Synthy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm Michael 98145:

@Matt, just think how many tv themes we have in our memory
  3:35pm JakeGould:

“Pissed Jeans” would be fun roommates.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Wendy del Formaggio:

I think I saw Pissed Jeans at that WFMU music fest thingie in Williamsburg in... uh... 2010? The one where Faust and Lydia Lunch played (but not together). Pissed Jeans's drummer barfed on the stage. It was quaint.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Matt from Springfield:

@Michael: And the older ones, in particular, are often polished, hidden gems. Well composed but not regularly played ("Taxi" from '77 for example).
  3:37pm JakeGould:

Jesus, now I am paying attention to the lyrics. So sad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Wendy del Formaggio:

Greg: thaaaaanks for the memorieeees
Avatar 3:39pm fred:

@Ken: Is Michele doing a fill-in? I love it when she does (not a fan of Shut Up Weirdo, just not in my listening hours)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm -Ken:

@Fred, Michele is doing the morning show tomorrow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm Michael 98145:

... people who love people ...
Avatar 3:45pm fred:

@Uber-Ken: Thanks, I'll try to check it out (work tends to get in the way these days)
Avatar 3:51pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

...and suddenly filled with yay.
  3:54pm JakeGould:

@fred: Work sucks.
Avatar 3:57pm fred:

@RTD: I finally got to see Gnod two days ago. Good set
@JakeGould; Indeed, but that's how I can afford to support the station
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm -Ken:

I've been watching videos of Graham Nash saying how much he hates David Crosby. For some reason because I watch a lot of natual disaster videos, YouTube thinks I would like these too, and they are correct. Cros IS a natural disaster.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm -Ken:

Good God. They released this as a SINGLE?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Scott Williams:

@Ken, Cros is my object lesson in loving the art while despising the artist! Tho I still felt like shit dropping $1 for this (pretty damn good) record (not a single)
Avatar 4:05pm fred:

@Ken: Is this going to be used in SSD?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm Matt from Springfield:

HA! Natural disaster Crosby...

When I bought his first solo LP "If I Could Only Remember My Name" years ago, the store clerk opened the two-part cover to show photos of all the musicians who worked on the album, including Jack Cassidy, Jorma Kaukonen, Jerry Garcia, Neil Young, Joni Mitchell...He said "along with David, imagine how much drugs were consumed in making this album!"
Avatar 4:09pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

@fred 3:57 -- nice... haven't had the chance to see th'Gnod, but that LP should be arriving any time. Bandcamp is becoming almost as expensive as discogs these days..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm -Ken:

I guess this was the B side to the Immigration Man single..
Avatar 4:15pm Sem Chumbo:

Ah, Buddy Miles. Always loved his , ah, muscular drumming:-D
  4:16pm melinda:

@Ken: that sounds like fun YouTube viewing, I'll have to look for that
Avatar 4:16pm fred:

@RTD: There's a mandatory all-hands meeting in my near future. The Gnod T-shirt looked like appropriate wear to avoid being invited next time
Avatar 4:17pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

PERFECT. I was thinking of using it myself for the same purpose.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Matt from Springfield:

"Jugband Blues" ending to "Wrap It Up"! Brilliant!
Avatar 4:21pm Sem Chumbo:

Would the be the shirt in question? f4.bcbits.com...
Avatar 4:22pm fred:

@RTD: The "eat flaming death" T has served me well for media opportunities at work so far. But now they don't give advance warning anymore...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm Matt from Springfield:

Yep, nice guy, does not write good lyrics.
Avatar 4:24pm Billy Jam:

the BEHEMOTH RECORD FAIR is coming soon
Avatar 4:26pm fred:

@Sem: Close, but the one I got had that red block on a black background. Offensive enough to get be banned from future corporate events, hopefully
Avatar 4:26pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I endorse the bee-HEE-muth treatment, be it wooly or clean-shaven.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:27pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

'Just a thot before I go
a lesson to be learned

Yay Buddy Miles.

  4:29pm JakeGould:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Greg from ZONE 5:

To wrap things up in a neat little package: I once sold Stephen Merritt a ticket to the Record Fair.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Stanley:

Woo. We've got tix for this 50 Song Memoir show.
Thanks for the preview, Scott
Avatar 4:32pm fred:

@Sem: Any plans of mine are laughable since I work at Ircam which will be history once Le Pen is elected
  4:33pm zopa:

Thanks for the Faust.
Avatar 4:33pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

now, as always, Bureau B can do no wrong.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:35pm Matt from Springfield:

@RRN63: "Teach Your Children Well" is likewise a fine job, very heartfelt. Always an exception to a rule of course, but in general I still stand by my assessment.
Avatar 4:35pm geezerette:

Faust! Always a bargain.

How-dee, Scott & folks.
Avatar 4:36pm Sem Chumbo:

@fred: that seems like an unlikely development, don;t you think?

Hey, Stanley!

Avatar 4:39pm fred:

@Sem: No, this seems all too likely. Right-wingers will vote for her
  4:40pm zopa:

very good th'Segue...
Avatar 4:41pm fred:

Esplendor Geomitrico were so disappointing at Sonic Protest last year
Avatar 4:42pm Sem Chumbo:

Oh, my. We had a right wing government here for a decade, and it was not a pretty sight for arts, culture and *alternative* endeavors.
Avatar 4:43pm geezerette:

God,Fred, please no! Ugh.
Avatar 4:44pm geezerette:

Might have to take up drinking for its medicinal properties.
Avatar 4:45pm fred:

@Sem: the official story is that there would be some kind of union against her, but I don't see that happening again. I just see too much casual hate on buses and at stores
Avatar 4:48pm Sem Chumbo:

Hmmm. I read THE LOCAL from Paris, but it is by and for ex-pats, and I think they may be sort of culturally deaf to what's going on there re: LePen and the hard right.
There's no panic in the reporting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm Matt from Springfield:

Law & Soul. Trippy stuff!
Avatar 4:50pm geezerette:

Scott,loving this set.
Avatar 4:50pm northguineahills:

Bernd Leukert. Superb and new to me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm Scott Williams:

thanks geezerette!
Avatar 4:51pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Likewise NGH. Digging big time.
Avatar 4:52pm fred:

Like an elderly woman yelling, really yelling, at a six year old at most girl to get to the back of the bus, because that's where her race belongs. Which doesn't even make sense here, that's a US thing, but that's where we are
Avatar 4:53pm northguineahills:

Wait this has (Playlist updates), n'ermind, yes, Twin Peaks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm Matt from Springfield:

@Sem/fred: I understand the fear, we didn't believe T***p would win the general either, culturally deaf to what some of our citizens were capable of agreeing to. You could hope the Glorious Non-Greatness of the present United States will dissuade a majority from granting Le Pen a second round victory (like it deflated hard-right enthusiasm in the Netherlands) and current polls are inclined to show that - but it's no given. Those against must actively speak up and defend civilization.
Avatar 4:55pm geezerette:

Fred, that's heartbreaking and scary as hell. It seems un-French to me but I'm an outsider & don't speak the language.
Avatar 4:55pm fred:

How am I going to see the new Twin Peaks episodes?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Scott Williams:

@fred, showtime free trial?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Michael 98145:

@fred, -casual hate- ... we know the feeling. all best wishes for the French people.
Avatar 4:57pm northguineahills:

John Oliver did a good piece last night on Le Pen. Fred, I'd recommend it to you, pretty sure someone in France has posted it. (You already know everything there is to be known about her, but it's a good nonetheless).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm Matt from Springfield:

sound/see/feel, that is...Synthesthesia...
Avatar 5:03pm northguineahills:

I like the idea, no matter how old I get, there is still amazing vintage music being unearthed I've never had an inkling existed before.
Avatar 5:03pm fred:

@NGH: I follow John Oliver, so I saw that (his attempt at French was competent, but accordion is only for English tourists) He was optimistic though. Le Pen has support from Jews because they both hate Arabs, from Arabs because they both hate Jews, from Blacks because they both hate Arabs, from Whites because we just hate everyone. Hate is her stuff, and it sells. It's like what really unites people
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm Michael 98145:

( that's usually why we're here ... :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm Michael 98145:

for some of us, hatred is free -- but only after you're born
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm Matt from Springfield:

Found a pristine Skeeter Davis LP over the weekend for a mere buck & thought fondly of this show... something in Case's voice made me think of this.
Avatar 5:40pm fred:

I actually have way more problems than before surgery. Which was why surgery was so urgent: I had no symptoms, so the first one I'd get would be an artery blowing up

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm Michael 98145:

great memory
Avatar 5:45pm fred:

@RTD: How come a Skeeter Davis LP would be so cheap where you live? Do they have skewed values of worth there? If so, take advantage
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Michael 98145:

-- how timely
Avatar 5:46pm northguineahills:

Get better Fred, and be careful w/ the blood clotting/not-clotting. Very happy you're doing well!

My father has blood clotting problems, so he takes blood thinners. Thankfully for me, I have Von Willebrand's (false hemophilia), so my blood clotting abilities are counteracted by my lack of ability to produced enough proteins to clot my blood) When I bleed, I bleed (it scares my wife). However, that doesn't bode well for my family history of vascular embolisms (My father's first aneurysm was when he was 47), so, I have that to look forward to in six years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Matt from Springfield:

Great intro and song!
"Breathless" actually has basic vocals, heavily vocoded.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Michael 98145:

wow, FMU friends ... please take care of yourselves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Matt from Springfield:

I'd love to make a 70s cop show theme to this song.
