Did you stash your Halloween candy in Garbage Time? Why not?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06am Bronwyn Bishop:

Hi Matt and everyone
Avatar 9:07am fred:

Hi Matt and landfill people. By this time next week, I might be in a garbage bag myself (heart surgery). I'll be unable to listen until December at best anyway, so thanks for the ride, garbage man
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11am pantz:

Candy, candy everywhere and not a gumdrop to eat. Good morning garbage people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13am Bronwyn Bishop:

I don't have any Halloween candy. I better have some kids so I can steal theirs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am Matt ww:

Good MOOOOORNING my little trashlings
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am Matt ww:

Orange Oreos and tiny butterfingers for breakfast this morning
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21am pantz:

It's part of a nutritious breakfast, Matt! Honestly, it's probably no worse than most breakfast cereals.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21am Matt ww:

that's good because I LOVE cereal
Avatar Garbaggio Tastemaker Marathon 2020 Swag For Life Member 9:24am Ken From Hyde Park:

At least you're not eating any Twix bars. No good could come from that.
Avatar 9:25am Chris from DC:

Th'Things! Nice.
Avatar 9:27am fred:

So what would be a good Halloween pizza?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am Matt ww:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am Michele:

You can't be the bad boy and the scamp! As long as I can be Creep of the Week I'm good though.
Avatar 9:42am Chris from DC:

Great set.
Avatar 9:43am Cheri Pi:

I've already had Nerds, Sweet Tarts (skull & bones edition) and Smarties for breakfast.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46am Matt ww:

Just popped a Werther's Original to hold me over till noon/someone brings me more candy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49am pantz:

Wish I were your dentist, Matt. I could use a new car.
Avatar 9:49am fred:

@Cheri Pi: No doubt you can have nerds, Yalie tarts and smartypants for breakfast. I'm sure you could even smite a few more jocks without breaking a sweat

Avatar 9:56am βrian:

Today's breakfast was a quickie potato/tomato frittata with fresh goat cheese and hearty toast. Am I un-American?

Hot mic!
Avatar 9:59am βrian:

Bon courage, Fred. I hope you have a good place to recover.
Avatar 9:59am Cheri Pi:

LOL Fred
  9:59am franny:

My favorite Halloween candy story is when I knocked on a Jehovah's Witness's door and he opened the door to tell me that he did not believe in Halloween and had no candy. It was candy for my pagan and wild ass non-Jehovah's witness soul.
Avatar 10:00am βrian:

@franny: You should've said, "Oh, no. It is I who brings candy to YOU."
  10:04am franny:

and Bridget St. John is my favorite autumn artist. Perfect. Perfect. @Brian - Yeah, I mean that was implied by my lack of "tricking" - but we were from different worlds....I was thinking starburst...he was thinking Jehovah....it all kind of ended righ there that night.
Avatar 10:04am Chris from DC:

Cool, really looking forward to hearing this new Daniel Bachman record.
  10:05am Brendan:

Good morning . Need some Smarties to counteract those Dum Dums.
Avatar 10:05am βrian:

Is there a Jehovah's Witness Protection Program?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am Bronwyn Bishop:

There seem to be several bands by that name, Brian.
  10:06am franny:

@Brian I think the equivalent of that would have been....reptilians.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08am Parq:

βrian, they go around knocking on doors and saying, "Good morning, we would like to not tell you the good news about Mr. Johansen's location."
Avatar 10:10am βrian:

This D Bachman makes my lobes feel fine.
  10:12am Brendan:

@Brian don't get me started. Those sons of bitches ruined my life.i staggered drunk into one of their covens . I woke up with pamphlets and things . It was horrible.
Avatar 10:16am Sem Chumbo:

How great is this? Thanks, Matt, good morning, and hello, g-men and women.
Avatar 10:17am fred:

@Brendan: Having been raised by a Sunday school teacher mother and a communist father, I've had many occasions to avenge your plight by using the bible to mess with their minds. My best work was having one screaming "disabled people should be put to death" on a marketplace while her partner was hastily folding shop then dragging her off. A friend had a nice one when he opened the door with a RPG rule book in his hand for a game called "In Nomine Satanis". That interaction was short
  10:17am Brendan:

Excellent mutton song
Avatar 10:19am βrian:

RPG? *Boom*
Avatar 10:24am fred:

@ βrian: This was years ago, back when RPG only meant something bored alienated teenagers were into, maybe to grab some attention after sensationalist stories

Avatar 10:37am fred:

@βrian: My employer is begging for donations, not matching them. I suspect this is the case for many of us. I'm starting to think I really fucked up with my career choices

@RTD: A coworker's first name is "Sacre Druide" Not sure whether that means "Holy Druid" or "Druid Crowner". Either way, it's a bad-ass name. And he's a security manager for a major museum in Paris

As for career-choices, currently enjoying Tito Puente in headphones while photoshopping the schnizzit out of Donald Trump (work-related). For once, things could be much worse.

Wow, this is good rock & roll music.
Avatar 11:26am fred:

Greetings, Cecile. There was talk of the opening of Paisley Park as a museum. That makes me feel like a relic.
I won't have access to internet including email for 3 to 6 weeks. Sucks, but that's my fault for not having a tablet or mobile. That money went to the station though
Avatar 11:29am Cecile:

fred, you won't feel like doing that much for 3-6 weeks. they'll be waiting.
Avatar 11:30am Cecile:

Avatar 11:32am fred:

Peeps, I'll be spending around a month living without WFMU. I fully expect it to be the worst part of heart surgery recovery. Please pledge and make sure YOU don't have to go through this, FOREVER.
Avatar 11:35am Brian in UK:

Hello fred, wish there was some way I could get you some access over there. I felt useless after our comments talk on Sunday.
Avatar 11:36am fred:

@Cecile: the cardiologist told me he's sending me to a program that's closer to boot camp than vacation. Athlete program. 3 weeks is the plan. 6 is like backup if I can't handle it (which is not unlikely, I'm no athlete)
Avatar 11:37am coelacanth:

directing atmospheric well-being vibes full-on toward you fred over the next month or 2.
Avatar 11:39am Sem Chumbo:

Plenty of reading material, at least? @fred?
Avatar 11:39am fred:

@Brian in UK: As I told to Cecile earlier, I'm sure you gave as much as you could afford to the station. Now, take care of yourself, so there is a community for me to come back to. Same goes for you @coelacanth
Avatar 11:39am Whosondephone:

Good Heavens Evans!
Avatar 11:41am Cecile:

physical therapy, even if it's not "boot camp" is no vacation, particularly after something like that. Just take your time and listen to what your body tells you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:43am Michael 98145:

( best wishes to you, fred ... )
Avatar 11:45am Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am Stevel:

Cheers, Fred!
Avatar 11:46am fred:

@Sem: Of course! I hope I'll get The Underground Railroad before going under, I don't think I could guilt the bookshop's owner into bringing it to me. Bur I have Oates "the accursed", Middlemarch, and a Bertrand Russel collection as backup. That should be enough. If in doubt I'll add Finnegan's Wake, it's worth a few thousand pages
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am common:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47am Matt ww:

Good luck Fred! and whenever you CAN get to the internet, send me an email to let me know how you're doing: garbagetime@wfmu.org
Avatar 11:49am Sem Chumbo:

...Finnegan's Wake...hahaha, fred.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:51am common:

just read your comments, fred. best of luck!
Avatar 11:51am Chris from DC:

Yeah, hang in there.
Avatar 11:52am fred:

@Matt: WFMU is in my will, so Ken will know if something goes wrong. Hold the hit men though, I'm worth a couple of days of running the station at most. No news is good news
Avatar 11:54am fred:

@Sem: It took me 15 years to finally make it through. It will probably take just as many to get an idea of what's going on there. I don't care about the plot, so it's not an issue
Avatar 11:57am Sem Chumbo:

I have heard similar remarks about reading that monster elsewhere.
Ah, some advice from my grand-mère (from Calais)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am Matt ww:

I can't tell you the plot, but some parts are just exhilarating. Pure joy from words I barely understood. But joy was there
