Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm Ken From Hyde Park:

The ice cream I just ate seemed a bit...off. I realize now that it's peanut butter swirl and not salted caramel swirl. How did that happen?
  7:22pm F. Harry Stowe:

Really digging this new Useless Eaters lp.
  7:24pm Ahmad:

I always confuse Useless Eaters and Useless Children.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm Faye:

I always confuse them with Audacity

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm Faye:

073356 is too long!
  7:44pm WebHamster Henry:

I was driving down to Newark so I was actually listening to WMFU and WFMU over the air for a change. Good to hear radio on the radio! Hello, children!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm Fox (Rā-chul):

Oh, you are right! Hmmmmm...... If ZIP stands for Zone In Progress, maybe those are Zone Finished numbers? :) Or maybe the extra number is for the vertical access since the sky is up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm Faye:

hahaha i approve of all those speculations Fox!! Im sure one or the other is right. Hi Henry!! I love hearing the radio on the radio too
  7:49pm BK:

ugh you're killing me. JPS Experience? The nostalgia is cutting like a serrated knife.

Astral Plane coordinates are space and time, to find a point on the Astral Plane a 'when' is needed as well as a 'where.'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm melinda:

This is lovely.
Avatar 8:24pm Marc Francis:

It really is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:25pm Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

Getting some Thursday morning Circa 2012 Faye vibes from this set.

Yes, the different time slots over the years. And the dark cold days of winter when Faye was off the air.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:34pm Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

I have never heard of Piano Magic before. After looking at the Wikipedia page on them, it lists Low (one of my favourite bands) as an associated act but not why. en.wikipedia.org...

Hey Faye! And hi everyone else… I like to say hello like that since I feel it says so much about who I am and what it feels like to inhabit my specific skin.

  9:02pm cheri:

hello again faye, fine show , even though he did his last show earlier do you agree that Gaylord is still the king of sunday evenings?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I picture FMU Sunday Eve as a very special street or neighborhhood / district - in which each Program is a very particular cafe/club...
Avatar 9:04pm listener mark:

Hello JakeGould! This is the only way I know to say 'Hello." I could say 'Hi' but that's not the same as 'Hello.'
Avatar 9:04pm JakeGould:

ZIP = Zone Improvement Plan

I gotta go and improve my zone. I’ve been negged by the US Postal Service!
Avatar 9:07pm listener mark:

I picture WFMU as a hollow volcano inhabited by minions in color co-ordinated tennis shoes, jumpsuits, and plastic hardhats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:08pm Faye:

100% correct
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...well - more generally...
Avatar 9:10pm herb.nyc:

hi all. i was *that* close to going to Rough Trade tonight, free show by Courtney Barnett (due to rain out at Gov's Ball). but i didn't wanna be smushed in and have my body contorted with the crowd (sounds like rough trade). tonight's music is a nice substitute.
Avatar 9:13pm listener mark:

Where is this body smushing and body contortioning place? I'm asking for a friend.
Avatar 9:13pm herb.nyc:

r.trade is in w'burg, n9th st (i think, west of bedford) starts at 9pm
  9:14pm cheri:

just one final thought about Gaylord, I sure hope he'll return!
Avatar 9:14pm herb.nyc:

i just noticed FENSTER was first band tonight, and i saw their name in present village voice. never heard of them, but they sound like a nice jewish band.
Avatar 9:15pm listener mark:

Yes DJ Trouble and Gaylord Fields. The rest of the djs will have to up their game.
Avatar 9:16pm herb.nyc:

listener mark's remark made me think of Andy Breckman's remark when Tom Scharpling left wfmu: "does that mean that we all move up a notch?".
Avatar 9:17pm listener mark:

somebody is moving up a time slot

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm Faye:

oh for heavens sakes its just summer vacation then everyones coming back
Avatar 9:27pm herb.nyc:

while surfing nytimes.com, i see this Chuck Klosterman article in their magazine. excerpt, fyi: NASA sent the unmanned craft Voyager I into deep space in 1977. It’s still out there, forever fleeing Earth’s pull. ...The hope was that this vessel would eventually be discovered by intelligent extraterrestrials, so NASA included a compilation album made of gold, along with a rudimentary sketch of how to play it with a stylus. A team led by Carl Sagan curated the album’s contents. The record, if played by the aliens [or their robot goalies, eh @JakeG?], is supposed to reflect the diversity and brilliance of earthling life. This, obviously, presupposes a lot of insane hopes: that the craft will somehow be found, that the craft will somehow be intact, that the aliens who find it will be vaguely human, that these vaguely human aliens will absorb stimuli both visually and sonically and that these aliens will not still be listening to eight‑tracks.
Avatar 9:27pm JakeGould:

Yeah, but some folks need drama… For their mama… *snaps in a circle* *sits back* *enjoys the silence*
  9:29pm cheri:

very sorry faye, I freaked out a little.

Avatar 9:31pm listener mark:

Oh! I wish I knew this earlier. I wonder if it's too late to cancel the carvings on the face of the Palisades.
Avatar 9:32pm JakeGould:

@Spatulator: I just tried to watch the first “Star Trek” movie again this week. It’s worse than anyone’s memory.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35pm Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

@JakeGould: It's pretty bad. I watched most of the Trek movies again recently because a friend has been hosting movie nights of his place, watching all the movies again before the new one comes out. STI and STV aren't as bad as I remember when mocking them in the company of friends.
Avatar 9:37pm JakeGould:

STI? Isn’t that the first movie that you just said stunk?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

@JakeGould: Yes. It is still a stinker but it's more palatable with the host serves nachoes and everyone makes fun of the film while watching.
Avatar 9:41pm JakeGould:

@Spatulator: Woooorrrrmmmm Hoooolllllllleeeeeeee
Avatar 9:42pm JakeGould:

And “Star Trek V” had the big head of God in it right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43pm Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

@JakeGould: Yeah. "What. Does. God. Need. With. a starship?"
  9:50pm cheri:

thank you for putting us at ease on the schedule, faye!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51pm Spatulator (formerly elwyn5150):

Yay for the Lucksmiths. I went to a songwriting course run by Tali Smith many years ago.
Avatar 9:54pm listener mark:

Thank you Faye. A wonderful late afternoon of songs for a Sunday rainy dusky eventide.
Avatar 9:55pm JakeGould:

Thanks Faye! Also, “World of Ghetto” would be a very interesting show to hear.
  9:58pm IFisher:

Thanks for transporting us off the terrestial surface tonight, Faye!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Bah...fell asleep for a bit. I have missed the Astral Plane?
