Nate K.:

Hey, Fred. Hey, Duke. Hi everybody.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05am
Nate K.:

Hey Fred, I finally got to see Mdou Moctar live. It was pretty special.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06am
Sem Chumbo:

Hiya, Nate, duke, fred. Commence to light it up!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09am

That's great, Nate! Did he mix it up with more acoustic songs?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12am
Nate K.:

Hey, Sem!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12am
Nate K.:

Fred, it was a small show in a record store, so it was all acoustic, but still pretty amazing. He's the first person I've ever asked to sign a record.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15am

I'm not surprised, I saw him go acoustic for parts of his shows, solo or with a drummer, and he was amazing. He didn't do that the last time I saw him and I was disappointed (I'm spoiled)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17am
Nate K.:

He still got a pretty good groove going even without a drummer. His style his so rhythmic anyway.

Good morning. I haven't been up this early on a Sunday in so long.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29am
Nate K.:

Hey, Dave. Welcome, glad to have ya.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43am

I had to clicky-star that Aldus Roger. I love music from Louisiana
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50am

Hey Nate, this is WFMU, you can be partial to as many as you want. And I love these wide ranging first sets
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55am
Nate K.:

@Fred, yeah, in another life, I play all Louisiana music...Maybe I'll do a special at some point.
Avatar 6:55am

Mayhem in the A.M...just the way I like it! Aldus Roger sounds even better when you play him...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59am
Nate K.:

Thanks, Todd!

Flames leaping higher and higher; you're burning it up, Nate!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19am

That's the goal, Sem!
Avatar 8:37am

Transitioning from The Heartbreakers to The Left Banke with one song in between? I don't think even Murray The K could pull that off with such aplomb.

- yeah !
Mike Sin:

Yeah, so I've been listening, but Endless Summer actually made me get the hell up off of the bed and make coffee. What's the surf in' like in Erie, PA?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43am
Dave in Vermont:

Excited to see Brian Wilson perform Pet Sounds this summer.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46am
Nate K.:

Hey, Mike. It's a state of mind, baby!

Sir Slouch:

Wow, Reigning Sound crossed my mind while you played the Beach Boys.
Avatar 8:48am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Have a friend - just a few years younger than me. She's all into Nicks-era Mac - which hits me as 70s-era cocaine 'Rubber Soul' - & she doesn't relate to Beach Boys - thinks 'Pet Sounds' is like goofy carnival music er somethin' (of course I think it's uniquely rich & inventive & totally affecting)...funny that. I wonder if it's because I was alive in the earlier 60s & Beach Boys resonate some very foundational level - & she weren't...

can we have some tom jones?
Avatar 8:50am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

The Above got the sound down! - referencing several things, & sounding sterling doing it...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51am

Thanks Nate, another stellar show
Avatar 8:55am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Dave in Vt: I saw him do it years ago w/ the Wondermints. It's like - what's the next act - The Who coming on & doing 'SellOut' Live here? The Beatles w/ Pepper - ?!??...
Ice in Bklyn:

Hi Nate, we met at the counter intuits show. Really good last third of the show (I got up at 8 am today)
