I remember seeing Seagull Screaming in a basement here in Mpls in 1996 - did you live here then?
Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 7:12pm Gary:

Dang, Polyus, I was there then, yes, but I didn't know yet about SSKHKH
Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 7:13pm Gary:

I should point out, btw, that this is NOT the Japanese noise show I've been planning for a while ... that'll be sometime in the future

Melt Banana i/o Japanese noise will do just fine.

Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 7:55pm Gary:

And you, too, Tim!
Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 7:55pm northguineahills:

I've seen Melt Banana probably 9 times in the last 20 years, once Henry Rollins was in Gainesville at the same time to give a lecture and do spoken word performances. He walked into the tiny punk club where Melt Banana were playing and collaborated impromptu on a few songs w/ them. It was awesome! Nearly broke my hand rocking out.
Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 7:57pm Gary:

Aw, man -- you guys get to see all the great bands!
  Wed. 5/4/16 7:58pm Dean:

@Dean: Al's bar was great.
There was no Al, it was just called that. Marc Kreisel,an L.A. artist, bought and ran it.

Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 8:52pm Gary:

Geezerette, someday I might do a three-hour show of nothing but Aiha Higurashi's various bands & solo albums ... she's one of my all-time-faves
  Wed. 5/4/16 8:52pm Dean:

I know Al's well, @geezerette. Loved it. Used to do homework there on return from UCLA to the east end of LA County. One of my buddies, X-8 of Flip Side, used to live in the hotel upstairs.
  Wed. 5/4/16 8:54pm Dean:

Will watch YT video when I have a moment. Really miss the place.
Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 8:55pm geezerette:

Oh yeah, The American Hotel. It had been an SRO Hotel before that.
It's a really terrible video.
  Wed. 5/4/16 8:56pm Dean:

With the airplane hanging on the facade!

I spent my wedding night at Al's Bar. Drunk Horse played.
Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 8:58pm geezerette:

I used to think SRO meant standing room only. haha!

Sounds like a great wedding!
Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 8:58pm Gary:

^I always thought that, too!
Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 8:59pm Gary:

It seemed odd that someone would want to spend the night in a hotel where you couldn't sit or lie down
Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 9:00pm geezerette:

So funny!
Thing is, those rooms were small enough for that to be true!

Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 9:10pm Gary:

Yeah, Ezra hates anything that sucks attention away from him. It's gotten so I have to take my computer out to a cafe or something when I work during the day, which is every day.
Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 9:11pm hyde:

if the cat doesn't like this show, you should probably dress up in catcher's gear for the noise show

Can someone let me know when the stream kicks in after the show is over? There's something wrong with my computer and I'm not sure I can make it stop streaming out w/out turning it off ... we'll see what happens ...
Avatar Wed. 5/4/16 10:00pm hyde:

thanks for the trip to the far east!
  Wed. 5/4/16 10:00pm David:

A future noise episode is intriguing.. I would consider tossing in a few quirky Jpop songs for contrast. The new °C-ute single is very good.. Played after Hijō Kaidan would be cool >__<
