Stuart Rose:

The Cactus Blossoms are like James Hunter. They both write and play songs out-of-time. They're not slavish revivalists, though, but some serious reincarnated souls.

Good morning Melissa Jean!

Well said Stuart. I count Gillian Welch in all that too. It's a rare thing.

Hawaii, though far away, is still America. Todd Rundgren is in the continental US but when he's at home in Hawaii, he's still in America

Yule Log WPIX, Channel 11. I remember being told by someone that the log was intended for poor folks who didn't have a fireplace in their homes and the Log would work in its stead.

I saw Squeeze on Thursday; lovely show. They did a q&a (or was it s/m?). And I love love love cats (dogs too; people, well...)

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am

I've watched this video about a million times, and I'm not done yet. It's Todd on "Daryl Hall's House" -- shot at Todd's house in Hawaii, no less -- doubling on "Saw The Light". Todd's singing is imperfect, but the performance is more than perfect.

I Saw the Light shows Todd R was a huge fan of Carole K.
And when I saw the Cactus Blossoms with Nick last year in Albany I told them they should cover 'Christmas Eve Can Kill You.' -- they didn't know it! I felt like my purpose on earth was fulfilled.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am

@Dano: I never noticed the connection between TR an CK on that song, but you're dead right.

MICHAEL! Two things;
1 - did you interview Margo Guryan?
2 - I thought that great Cactus Blossoms song was saying 'Vinyl Collector'!! - it works with that title too - try it!!
Actually, THREE things MASSIVELY HAPPY XMAS!! To you and yr fam!!
