Master Tat is heavy as hell, btw. Making me think of OM.

Ahhhh, nice, refreshing mind control. I need to hear some spending control, though.

I believe I have some Floridian Krishna hardcore records laying around somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm
micah:

yes theres lots of krishnacore out there. will feature that on a future program
Avatar 6:18pm
northguineahills:

The Krishnas pretty much fed me lunch through out my undergrad.

Barrie_:

Here in Sweden there's a lot of Krishna folks, I think in the 90s there was lots of Krishnacore but not so much these days. There's a Krishna mission in the same apartment building as I live.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm
micah:

yes the 90s was the golden age of krishnacore. i think because the east village has become so gentrified in the 00's the movement kind of petered out

I ate thanks to Krishna folks a few times when I was too broke for food! They make delicious foodstuffs!

dale:

i am enjoying this show. but that's what you're trying to make me do with your thought control
Avatar 6:31pm
Julie:

Is my mind controlled yet?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm
Sullivan Ballou:

alrite mate? are you playing this out of your phone into a mic co it sounds awful.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:36pm
dale:

it was probably just recorded onto a cassette deck or something. the lo fi adds to it in my opinion. you kids today are spoiled.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm
micah:

This Star Trek song has just made my day!!!

I didn't know there were lyrics to Star Trek. This is amazing.

gene roddenberry wrote them apparently - http://mentalfloss.com/article/28895/star-trek-theme-song-has-lyrics

now that's catchy

dk:

kinda belatedly for the govinda set, but i've kinda wondered for a while what mainstream hindus make of the krishnas. or, for that matter, the secularization of yoga. seems like it's got to kind of weird out folks who've been raised religious.

JakeGould:

That “Star Trek” song… If I was in an auditorium and someone played that… I would enjoy the weirdness and know to back out the door right away.

JakeGould:

Krishna’s indeed make good food. The rest of it… Not so much of a good thing…

This show has been a pleasant discovery for me. I'll be tuning in again and digging into archives. Cults are fascinating.
Avatar 6:57pm
dk:

seems like any good indian restaurant tops most krishna kitchens, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm
Sullivan Ballou:

what was the name of this last cult? I wanna look em up. ta.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59pm
Barrie_:

My experience of the Krishna kitchens here is that it's super boring stuff. Hope they're not all like that. They preach "The Spoon Revolution" where everything should be mushy and bland, so not to remind you of the stabby stabby death that forks and knives bring about. Thanks for the show micah!
