  6:14am Cooh John:

Good morning. Nice to hear your show backed by the gentle rain.
Avatar 6:26am herb.nyc:

hi JD and all. i like the songs, the mood. i will proceed to feed the cat WITHOUT talking to her.
Avatar 6:47am Brian in UK:

Hello Jeffrey, CJ & Herb.
The Dennis Taylor track had me thinking it was the intro to John Stewarts's Some Lonesome Picker.
  7:03am testingwithfire:

good morning all. Has anyone seen the new movie abt Brian Wilson? Supposed to be super.
Avatar 7:06am herb.nyc:

don dixon? he was headliner of my FIRST show at maxwells, 1984,5? he was amazing. ted lyons was opener.
Avatar 7:06am Brian in UK:

BW's birthday today. Who thought he would survive this long, still playing.
Avatar 7:37am Brian in UK:

Ah Martin Stone, later to form Chili Willy & the Red Hot Peppers with Phil Lithman. Great live band.
  8:35am ?:

Mighty Baby had 2 lives of course -- the first as the band that issued one the most stunning psychedelic prog albums of all time ("Mighty Baby") and the second as purveyors of stoned/mystical folk ("A Jug of Love"). The first has some of the gnarliest lead guitar work of the era.
  8:36am mike east:

I spun some Band last Sunday and this week on fmu I've heard them a bunch. Something in the air perhaps
Avatar 8:36am Brian in UK:

Funny, just re-read Greil Marcus' essay on the Band from Mystery Train. Got me listening to them like it was the first time. Three great voices.
Avatar 8:38am Brian in UK:

Rock of Ages was re-issued in 2013 with a new Bob Clearmountain mix. What a live band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46am Mike East:

Rocks of Ages is what I was spinning. 2 LP set that I got for real cheap a few years back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Have been listening & has been grand for a Sat. morn - As Ever - Thx DJ JD.
  8:49am Mark:

Count me as a fan of the Band, too. They tapped into something very ancient and very timeless at the same time. A truly special group. They really didn't make that many albums when you think about it. Probably a few more than they should have, truth be told. But "Big Pink," "The Band" and "Rock of Ages" are all masterpieces. And I'll watch the "Last Waltz" any time it comes on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:51am Mike East:

well stated, Mark. I definitely went through a period where I was watching the last waltz several times a week.
  8:52am Jack:

My friend kept telling me the Band was the best American rock&roll band ever, but we'd go see them and they would suck (even with Dylan at MSG) Then finally I saw them in Westchester and they were amazing. My friend was right.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:58am Ken From Hyde Park:

See you next week. Nice show today.
Avatar 10:41am Van in DC:

My turn!
Avatar 2:48pm Van in DC:

SVE's "most recent record"?

Emblazoned in my brain in fire:

Avatar 3:17pm Van in DC:

Finally finished - great show Jeffrey, many thanks! What a fantastic piece to end the show, with that Belong track! Just gorgeous.
