Listener comments!

  12:06am rich:

good morning fellow listeners,
for your visual entertainment this evening: isopresso.tumblr.com
  12:09am Tamar:

I really like this Lois Vierk. For some reason, though, it makes me feel like I should be going to sleep.
  12:09am Tamar:

But of course I'm staying up.
  12:12am JakeGould:

Those balloon animals! Clearly not made by a creepy guy in clown makeup that just shows up on main street on the weekends!
  12:28am P-90:

Good morning Rich and Carcassians. The visuals are terrific, so far beyond Jeff Koons' facile and soulless balloon pieces.
And somehow I've managed to live long enough that Philip Glass pieces like this feel nostalgic. "Golden oldies."
  12:29am rich:

no he obviously stays away from main street and probably the sun holed up in a very small, constraining room where time means nothing because he is this close to completing a full-size balloon sculpture of a naked mole rat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31am fleep:

And he screams at the sight of a pin.
  12:39am P-90:

He might awaken shaking, in a cold sweat, from "pinmares"
  12:46am JakeGould:

@P-90: Eh, Koons is perfectly fine. I like his take on pop culture. And his balloon dog is just iconic as a common balloon dog. This balloon artists kicks it way up a notch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00am ! I X Key !:

Steve Reich was upset when he composed Two Pages & then Philip Glass stole it from him

No foolin
  1:05am P-90:

Koons reproduced balloon animals and inflatable toys in metal, which is fun and as you say, Jake, invites a re-appraisal of disposable pop culture trinkets. But those pieces are executed by craftsmen to Koons' specs; Isopresso's balloon thingies are original designs and forged (we presume) by his own hand. They're real likable and warm. No disrespect meant to Jeff K's schtick.
  1:11am JakeGould:

@P-90: Well, tons of artists use fabricators. Louise Bourgeois did not build all of those spiders on her own! I just can't see conflict between Koons mimicking pop culture and this balloon artist creating balloon animals. I'm not into conflict between expressions of ideas.

  1:13am rich:

koons probably cannot hear a pin drop (unless it hits his metal balloon sculptures), isopresso hears every pin drop within a five mile radius

Has anyone ever made huge pipe-cleaner sculptures?
  1:17am P-90:

Hi RRN63! Are we now out of retrograde Mercury? I'd swear I really saw the effects this time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19am Ike:

What's all this hullabaloo in here?! OK, come clean -- which one of you reprobates dared Rich to play a set of face-melting hot rock jams?!
  1:20am JakeGould:

The retrograde Mercury went bye bye on June 11th. If that explains my insomnia earlier this week, then hey… I buy that nonsense.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23am ! I X Key !:

I am such a big fan of planets & orbits! Who else is such a big fan of planets & orbits?
Avatar 1:24am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yeah - Mercury's Direct again. The Sun is Conjunct Mars - very aggro. It was very weird when Mercury was Stationary - that's when it doesn't move @ all when it stops going Retro & just starts to 'turn around' & go 'forward' again...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27am ! I X Key !:

Zow Mercury
Avatar 1:27am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yerknow - Mercury goes Retro three times a year for weeks...It's just - Communication - what isn't Communication?
  1:28am P-90:

Tally Ho, Drake!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28am ! I X Key !:

Does Mercury have what counts as an atmosphere that's about two inches deep & is mostly dust upped from things hitting it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30am sinister dexter:

love this song ! thanks Rich !
  1:33am JakeGould:

@P-90: FWIW, finally watched both the “Three Musketeers” and the “Four Musketeers”. Damn. Very good movies.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34am ! I X Key !:

Really? What happens? Mercury spends how much time turning around & goes the other direction for how long & how long does it spend turning back & what happens?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37am ! I X Key !:

I love how we are on a planet going through the void in a solar system & everything
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41am ! I X Key !:

It is difficult for me to release my work or profit monetarily from it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41am ! I X Key !:

What I do doesn't seem to be about communication
Avatar 1:47am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

You can websearch 'Mercury Retrograde' & read all about it. Here's a good video about it: www.youtube.com...
- Lovin' what yer layin' down Rich. Gonna try & sleep thru FMU tonight - wish me luck...
  1:48am P-90:

"3 & 4 Musketeers" was originally one big movie. When the producers realized they had enough stuff to split into two movies, Chris Lee and the other actors sued successfully for more pay, because even though it was the same amount of work, they had contracted to appear in one, not two. The producers wound up getting paid for two releases, the actors felt they should too. Interesting that the way it worked out, the first movie had almost all the lighthearted comedy moments, the second had all the dark and tragic outcomes. So they're an unusual diptych. And the whole process inspired them to plan "Superman 1 & 2" as one big production.
  1:50am JakeGould:

Too bad the whole “Superman 1 & 2” idea was just… Meh… And then only got worse.
  1:58am weegee:

this show is restoring my will to live...loving these tracks, thanks
