Avatar 3:51pm FernandoBelmondo:

I really enjoyed reading White Bicycles, especially chapter about Newport Festival and Dylan and chapter about Nick Drake. Highly recomended book, for sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm Polyus:

Plus Joe Boyd almost sorta discovered ABBA.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm Scott Williams:

^ ^ That's right! and then kinda sorta maybe turned over all the ABBA publishing rights to move to Hollywood, or maybe?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm DCE:

transportive stuff

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm tomasz.:

separate but also fun fact involving both ABBA and Soviet music restrictions: at the time of the release of "ABBA: The Album", Western rock and pop was actively discouraged across Eastern Europe, but nevertheless the album sold a million copies in Poland and exhausted the country's entire allocation of foreign currency.

Avatar 4:31pm a little knowledge is s dangerous thing:

Just to keep things confusing... "v" in that context sounds more like we'd say "f" - so

I just saw my first Troma movie last month. Toxic Avenger. Movies have always escaped me.

The Carnival of Souls bridge has been replaced twice since the film was shot, but the location is about 15 miles from my house.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm Scott Williams:

Thanks Jev! Hi Uncle Michael! Does anything remain of the pavilion?
Avatar 4:41pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Whoa, Uncle M., that film is among my favorite things, out of all the things!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41pm Uncle Michael:

I don't think the pavilion was a Kansas location. I'm not sure. Much of the film was shot in Utah.
  4:42pm dickscumrok:

I wasn't expecting this Organ music to be as good as it is. And it is really good.

It's 74 here. It almost sucks to have a job when it's this nice outside.

its mid 40s Wendy, which isnt exactly cold, but is unseasonably cold for nj/ny and is aggravating for all of us pavlovian conditioned to want to peel off our tattered winter coats by mid march.
