hello hello, diane and peoples!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:04pm chris:

Hey, Diane, Hey common! Positive thoughts!
Avatar 12:05pm V Priceless:

Hey Diane! Que pasta?
Avatar 12:05pm PKNY:

Is getting played because Mr. Starr exclaims "Six six six!" with utmost glee on this track?
Avatar 12:06pm Claw!:

Hey y'all! Hope everyone's day is off to a good start. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm common:

tryin' chris! it is thursday!
Avatar 12:11pm Cecile:

Dear Marvel Films:
Cast Dave Wyndorf as Galactus. He already thinks he is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm sphere:

hi all. is it just me or does Monster Magnet sound like a "grunge" band?
Avatar 12:12pm Cecile:

I'd call em a cross tween BOC and a proper garage band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm sphere:

sounded, rather.
Avatar 12:16pm holland oats:

do they make dayglo tear gas?
Avatar 12:16pm V Priceless:

Devourer of Worlds!
  12:17pm Frip:

It's called mustard gas.
Avatar 12:17pm Cecile:

Well, Wyndorf might not devour worlds,. I see him as more rolling them up and smoking them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm sphere:

Wasn't Galactus a cloud of gas in that Fantastic Four movie?
Avatar 12:19pm V Priceless:

another green world...rolled up and smoked! haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm eyenoise:

The Day The World Turned Dayglo into Hot Snakes! What a 1-2 punch!

Mario !
Avatar 12:19pm AMA:

@sphere " In his first appearance in The Fantastic Four, Galactus was depicted as a god-like figure which feeds by draining living planets of their energy. After appearing in the Silver Age of Comic Books, Galactus has appeared in over four decades of Marvel continuity, the one-shot publication Super-Villain Classics: Galactus the Origin #1 (May 1983)[3] and the limited series Galactus the Devourer (September 1999–March 2000). " wikithingy
Avatar 12:20pm Cecile:

we don't like to talk about that sphere
Avatar 12:21pm V Priceless:

first Galactus appearance (in comic book form) was FF #48
Avatar 12:21pm Cecile:

classic galactus has a gnarly Jack Kirby drawn armor suit with this cray headdress. And it is very purple.
Avatar 12:22pm V Priceless:

King Kirby! Don't get me started....
Avatar 12:22pm Cecile:

excuse me, I meant crazy. Or cray-cray if you're under 18
Avatar 12:23pm Cecile:

I love that Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy looks like a Jack Kirby "blockhead" come to life.
Avatar 12:24pm Cecile:

We will mortify your flesh!
Avatar 12:26pm PKNY:

My first concert was Accept on the "Balls to the Wall" tour, opening for KISS. This song makes me want to knock down buildings with furious headbanging.
Avatar 12:26pm V Priceless:

I've kinda bailed on the past few years of Marvel films...my purist 'Silver Age' sentiments always get the better of me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:26pm common:

hell yea, balls to the wall! still remember watching the accept video as a kid.
Avatar 12:27pm Cecile:

the second Cap'n America movie is great.
I like the Thor movies because they are completely idiotic and unapologetic about it. And I think you might like the Avengers. It's really well done.
Avatar 12:28pm Cecile:

If you loved the Rocketeer, you'll love the first Captain America movie. Which I did and do.
  12:29pm upstatedude:

is this a real band? haha seems like a Spinal Tap thing... no offense
Avatar 12:29pm Cecile:

I thought he said "show me the sign of injury"
Avatar 12:29pm Cecile:

upstate, it is 100% real. And pretty great in its shamelessness.

Avatar 12:41pm Diane Kamikaze:

Aren't I, Cecile?

Avatar 12:42pm Chris from DC:

Ooh, Astronomy, good call.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm common:

certainly is, upstatedude!
Avatar 12:45pm Cecile:

yeah, but getting paid for it, and throwing tee shirts out to the audience when Mastodon comes to town and all that good stuff.
Avatar 12:45pm Cecile:

exquisite BOC song.
Avatar 12:47pm Frip:

No more talking about things I don't understand. Thank you.

Don't have the liner notes, but is that an accordian at the end of that Voivod track, or was that Piggy playing that melody?
Avatar 12:53pm V Priceless:

typing about typing Voivod!
Avatar 12:56pm Luna:

It's an accordion.

Yes, Satanic Priests do exist.
I met the head of the of the Church of Satan... I went to shake his hand an he stared at it. It was awesome.
Avatar 1:08pm Cecile:

she should be back around Fabio-ish.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm coe:

So pretty much everybody on my side of the office is out for the remainder of the week except for the extremely hard of hearing older women who sits next to me. So that means listening to the Fun Machine sans headphones today. Woo Hoo.
Avatar 1:14pm V Priceless:

nice gig, coe
Avatar 1:21pm Luna:

Damn, that Transmetal tune was awesome.
Avatar 1:21pm Cecile:

Great, now I know the lyrics to this!
Avatar 1:21pm V Priceless:

ha..a Hot Butter cover!
Avatar 1:21pm Claw!:

This "Popcorn" cover is really sweet!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm coe:

@V PRicless and they are threatening to give me an office in the near future which I would probably turn down except for the fact that it will mean being able to listen to what ever I want. :)
Avatar 1:23pm Frip:

The DJ is playing some mighty good stuff today. Even played Thin Lizzy.
Avatar 1:24pm V Priceless:

@ coe - you might be the first person on Earth to ever string the words "threatening to give me an office" together!!
Avatar 1:25pm Frip:

Angel Witch sounds like The Sweet.
Avatar 1:30pm Cecile:

I'd like to see a band called Grand Negus. (nerd alert)
Avatar 1:32pm V Priceless:

Diane cookin' with oil (sesame or coconut, preferably)!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm sphere:

@Cecile they could do a song called "Laws of Acquisition" :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm coe:

Is this song actually about the Shadow? That is so cool. I'm such a Pulp geek.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm coe:

@Frip "...sounds like The Sweet" is a very high compliment to paid in my world.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:36pm coe:

@V Priceless people don't tend to understand my lack of want to be in an office. Something about seems more caging then freeing.
Avatar 1:42pm Frip:

@coe, love is like oxygen, no what I mean?
Avatar 1:42pm northguineahills:

This Sisters of Mercy song doesn't usually get that much airplay.
Avatar 1:43pm V Priceless:

understood, Coe. But given the choice, I guess the question you may have to ask yourself is, would you rather share a cage, or have your very own? : )
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm coe:

@V Priceless point well taken
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm coe:

@Frip yes yes I do
Avatar 1:45pm V Priceless:

no charge for that! haha
Avatar 1:47pm Cecile:

I'm on an Associates jag, and seriously I think Alan Rankine was as good as any post-punk guitarist working at that time. A great colorist as a player.
Avatar 1:49pm Cecile:

Sulk is just as nuts as I remembered it in'83, but now I can appreciate it.
Avatar 1:49pm Frip:

If you're gonna cover Planet Caravan it better be damn good. Cuz it was done right the first time.
Avatar 1:50pm V Priceless:

I need to score this Brownout record
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm coe:

For anyone who has not gone and listen to this album. Once the Fun Machine is over run do not walk and do such. One of the coolest projects I have ever heard what they do to Sabbath is absolutely amazing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm coe:

Avatar 1:54pm PKNY:

I agree with @VP, I need to pick up the Brownout post-haste.
Avatar 1:58pm V Priceless:

Ape Machine - now there's a band name with lots of....appeal! Great sound...!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm coe:

Basically it's what if Sabbath had come from a barrio in CA at the same time rather then Birmingham.
Avatar 2:00pm Frip:

I see the Brownout thing on Soundcloud, thanks for the heads up Coe.
Avatar 2:01pm Cecile:

hymn to cayenne would be awesome.
  2:01pm Dean:

Got a hankerin' now for El Chicano, Malo...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Rich in Washington:

I wonder if Exene thinks Ferguson is an illuminati false flag operation?
Avatar 2:06pm V Priceless:

Off! with Dale Crover on the kit, 8/22 @ Europa in Bklyn too
Avatar 2:08pm Diane Kamikaze:

Thanks VP, I'm so uneven about Europa...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm coe:

Really is Dale doing the whole tour?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm joe:

@DK seems Watermark is a hotel in NY.
Avatar 2:11pm V Priceless:

you're welcome, DK! I'm not familiar w/the venue - questionable?

@ coe - yes!
Avatar 2:13pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Holy poo-poo. I am late.
Avatar 2:15pm Diane Kamikaze:

VP- It's not my favorite place, and I have seen some GREAT shows there. They usually have a "disco night" immediately after the shows, so get there early. It can be suffocating and sometimes the sound is hideous. Very crap shootish!
Avatar 2:15pm Cecile:

wow a Roger Zelazny tribute from Ogre!
Avatar 2:16pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

heh. thought that title sounded familiar... it's been ages.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm sphere:

wow! SF geek heaven!
Avatar 2:21pm V Priceless:

@ DK - ugh - seems lots more venues are doing the "disco night" mutation after the rock show thing lately, though more in Manhattan than in the outer boroughs. Hit or miss sound makes it a really tough call though! It may be a coin toss - thanx for the insight, D!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm Andrew Waterloo:

@V whatever keeps the rock shows happening. It also means that the rock shows happen at a decent hour.
Avatar 2:34pm Diane Kamikaze:

@AW true, and this place is just very unpredictable whether or not they have a soundperson (yes, really) or turn on the A/C, and I agree, a venue is a venue...
Avatar 2:35pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

holy crap, buzzbomb. Played the hell out of this LP when I was 18, haven't heard it at all since maybe 20 (more than half a life ago). Jeezus, timewarp.
Avatar 2:35pm V Priceless:

@ Andrew Waterloo - you won't hear me complaining about any of those points, that's for sure, except maybe take some of the loot from the "disco nights" and re-invest in upgrading your live sound system, maybe? Not likely, but...what the heck.
Avatar 2:36pm Claw!:

Nice! Haven't listened to Menace in a while...
Avatar 2:39pm Chris from DC:

Yeah, Rev, Buzzbomb was a fun flashback there.
Avatar 2:40pm V Priceless:

@ DK - "whether or not they have a sound person" is down-right insane, frankly, especially if they're booking national acts!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm coe:

@ DK STanhope house announced Sheer Terror for Nov. 14
Avatar 2:42pm MugsyNY:

Sheer Terror!!!! Great show today, Diane.
Avatar 2:44pm Cecile:

Avatar 2:47pm Diane Kamikaze:

I DEFINITELY like saying Rancid HellSpawn!!!
Avatar 2:48pm Diane Kamikaze:

@Coe WWWWHHHHAAAATTT??? Wow, yes please!
Avatar 2:48pm Michael As If:

I've noticed people have showed a renewed interest in DK since these recent displays of militarized police power...
Avatar 2:49pm Michael As If:

What do you is the perfect DK anthem 4 that?
Avatar 2:50pm Cecile:

I dunno, this is the same crew that has been here for the last couple of years...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:54pm coe:

Yeah I know. I'm out of freaking town that week. I'm so bummed.
Avatar 2:54pm V Priceless:

yeah, I was getting the vibe that you just like saying "Rancid Hell Spawn" too, Diane! Fine show today - thank-you!
Avatar 2:54pm Cecile:

this is pretty anthemic, here.
Avatar 2:55pm Michael As If:

@Chris good call , @Rev right, and anything from Millions of Dead Cops
