Angele and Goce Dimovski
Hear this show now:
Pop-up player!
In the second hour: Live performance by Angele Dimovski and Goce Dimovski (click on the
names for bios) of the Orchestra of Traditional Folk Instruments of
Radio-Television Skopje, Macedonia. The Dimovskis are masters of several traditional instruments including kaval (flute) and gaida (bagpipes) and they also are responsible for
WFMU’s first ever zurla onslaught! The zurla is one of the world's most bombastic instruments. If you don't believe us tune in!
The Dimovskis are joined by NY-based Balkan-ophilic agitators Matt Moran, Adam Good and Jerry Kisslinger. Engineered by Chris Stubbs.
Plus new releases and mixed bag in the first hour.
If you want to learn where you can check out (and maybe even dance or jam with) musicians like the Dimovskis in person and find out more about all sorts of Eastern European traditional music and dance activities in the United States visit http://www.eefc.org/
