It took about two notes before I realized what program was on. Glad to hear that the old Victrola runs in cold weather.
Avatar 8:14pm MAC:

Cold, Hot, Rain or Shine; The Victor plays on.

This Laughing Record is genius! Great set
Avatar 8:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- have read as Gospel that the 1st Jazz Record was
The Original Dixieland Jass Band in 1917 - but there's 'Ephraham's Jazbo Band' down as 1917; maybe that's more the title than the genre.....
Avatar 8:32pm MAC:

Correct Rabbit. It's recognized as the first time JAZZ was used in a title but not very jazzy.
Avatar 8:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...or it followed it that year; even so, if it's really Jazz, that's notable...
Avatar 8:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Thx! - Interesting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm Parq:

Sort of popular music *about* jazz. Not unlike Carole King's "Jazzman".
Avatar 8:48pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...kinda Ragtimey or even Minstrely/ Showtune-ish - not Improvisation - but still...& now Eubie Blake. Anticipating the 2017 Centennial...
- Thx!...

Late props to Popeye!
