We're in the middle of Todd-o-phonic week. He's due up again Saturday morning. Some Vitamin Funk will get us through the night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24pm Uncle Michael:

Lulu's got a nice Man Who Sold The World too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25pm pacific standard simon:

Whoop! Todd! Who let the dogs out?!
Avatar 9:29pm Timmy Toenail:

Glad to discover back on the sound box so soon Todd-o-phonic. Better share that punch if it gets you drunk

Todd. Todd-o-phonic let those dogs out!

On the other hand, Peter Noone had a very suspect version of "Oh! You Pretty Things"...

I'm whipped. I'm gonna lay back and let Todd yell me to sleep.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35pm pacific standard simon:

Wait! What about your pie?
  9:36pm LovecraftDude888:

I just had to do a fast food shop the whirlwind 15 min. one because otherwise..nothing worse than waking on Turkey Day preparing to head out and no food, and trapped in your nabe due to some silly run going on! No guten!
  9:37pm LovecraftDude888:

Ian Hunter! yessss! And the temp. is dropping fast since this afternoon...wow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37pm pacific standard simon:

Frozen burritos are your friend.
  9:38pm LovecraftDude888:

God, anything. I have to have my Twinings irish breaky tea and oatmeal or I get ornery!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39pm pacific standard simon:

Remember when Ian Hunter as a solo artist sounded like a good idea?
  9:40pm SeanG:

this song right here got me outta bed every day during a shitty time in Chicago
  9:41pm LovecraftDude888:

I have some memory of All The Good ones are Taken the video coming on MTV and going "good tune, ok tune, but this is not going to put Ian over Duran Duran...sadly". Which speaks more about the sad state of pop music as usual than anything.
  9:41pm LovecraftDude888:

but that's not to say I don't like Duran Duran....I did and do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43pm Uncle Michael:

The pies look lovely. zzzzz
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44pm Parq:

Mr. Todd! What a thankful thing to find you here. Maybe we need to call it Todd-O-Giving.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44pm pacific standard simon:

Whew. That's been on my mind all day. Sort of.

  9:52pm LovecraftDude888:

That sounds like a good book for a change: OOP though already. I was supposed to see Eric and Amy Rigby a few months back but I had pers. issues and didn't get there, alas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54pm pacific standard simon:

They're a fun show, Dude, and they give good autograph.
  9:54pm LovecraftDude888:

Bleecker St. is ok, some high prices on some stuff, but cute cats!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm pacific standard simon:

How about a tribute to Joan Jett getting kicked off the South Dakota float?
  9:57pm johnk77:

stream,dj,music good here
Avatar 9:58pm Toasty Tang:

  10:00pm LovecraftDude888:

Bleecker St. wanted like $70 for the J. and M. Chain box set, in window, I thought it was a tad high and said so on Yelp. I like Generation Records better but haven't been there in a while now. That's not cheap either but a better overall selection and the tshirt and vinyl overflow downstairs is rad!
Avatar 10:02pm Wagonsmoke:

Classic Tracy Morgan humor last night warning that if the Underdog float got too close to the Snoopy float he might try to sniff is but during the parade.
  10:04pm LovecraftDude888:

that's nothing, I had a stroppy orange tabby pet store cat try to attack me today! He wasn't keen on me petting him. That kind of day.
  10:04pm SeanG:

best song ever
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06pm pacific standard simon:

The ghost of Teddy Roosevelt's gonna ride the Bullwinkle float like Slim Pickens on a H-Bomb!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08pm pacific standard simon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:10pm pacific standard simon:

Oh my heart!
Avatar 10:10pm Whooda:

Apparently Joan Jett hitched a ride on a different float but which one? "I've decided to switch from South Dakota to another float because people's political agendas were getting in the way of what should be a purely entertainment driven event," Jett said in a statement Saturday."
  10:12pm LovecraftDude888:

I know I just read that too. Doesn't say which State float. If only Wendy O. Williams was still around to be on ANY float with her leather bra and chainsaw! now THAT would be a Turkey Day!
Avatar 10:15pm Hellofromskidrow:

They don't want to frighten the kiddies with Wendy O. Williams
  10:16pm LovecraftDude888:

haha that would have been something else. Alas it would be a hologram nowadays.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm pacific standard simon:

I don't know where Joan's going, but she'd be a natural for the Hawaii float, if there is one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:16pm fleep:

I'm floating already.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm pacific standard simon:

Nitrous oxide, baby!

If I had my way, Todd-o-Phonic Todd would occupy a space in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as the Bestest "sub" in radio history! I mean it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:23pm pacific standard simon:

I love Elvis the C's version of this.

@lovecraftdude - I do too!

  10:29pm LovecraftDude888:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:29pm pacific standard simon:

No, guess not.
  10:30pm LovecraftDude888:

Elliott was an unbelievably nice guy, meant to say.
  10:30pm Eddy in Australia:

@Holly: Have you heard the Beasts of Bourbon's version of "Psycho"? Pretty good, too.
  10:32pm LovecraftDude888:

I'm upside down my head is spinning round cause i gotta sell the house in Levittown oh no Alan Sherman! i used to always play Lenny Bruce every Thanksgiving....not recently though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:33pm pacific standard simon:

This song is dedicated to me.
Avatar 10:34pm Holly in NC:

@Eddy - I have it, and it is good! I really like the BoB in general. Axeman's Jazz, Black Milk, classics. And 'Just Right' the song is fun :-)
  10:37pm Eddy in Australia:

@Holly: I knew it! You always seem pretty cluey about Australian bands. The Beasts are still going strong, by the way. Saw them a few months ago.
  10:39pm LovecraftDude888:

And the new wave of Aussie goodness past couple of years makes me happy.

Nebraska-Lincoln if you are ever on I-80 its worth a look.
  10:50pm mon:

there's even music scene there in Lincoln...
  10:53pm LovecraftDude888:

man I scoped it on Yelp....makes me wanna bawl that Lincoln Nebraska has six or seven indie record shops and Port Washington LI has zero. Oh boy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54pm pacific standard simon:

I actually do have those liner notes in front of me. Elliot goes on and on about how the record will seem in 100 years, what people in 100 years will make of this. Everyone who is alive when the record was made will be dead, including him. Heh, well, it's ~40 years later, and Lou and Sterling are dead, anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm pacific standard simon:

He also says that rock'n'roll is one of the few honest things left in this world. Is that true? I still don't know.
Avatar 10:58pm Holly in NC:

Old 97s' "Wreck Your life" is a nigh perfect record.
Avatar 10:58pm Peteski:

@pss Thanks and thanks todd for the playlist (and elliot murphy)

Avatar 11:15pm dance hall discount:

Captain Groovy's idea of rebellion was dropping two sweetarts at one time for the extra sugar rush.
  11:21pm LovecraftDude888:

I always liked those Spree candies turning your tongue various colors!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22pm pacific standard simon:

Well, sort of. There was this one candy that started out like a Sweetart, but as it dissolved in your saliva, it turned into gum. It was compulsive; you just kept shoving them into your mouth.
  11:24pm LovecraftDude888:

I used to also love those Lik em Aid stick things with the sugar stick and powdered sugar packets...oh my god. It's amazing I still have teeth!
Avatar 11:26pm Hellameye:

I vaguely remember lick em, Spree and the melting gum. The worst was 'cum gum' that was a puffy square of gum with a liquid center that had a strange flavor all its own.
Avatar 11:27pm Holly in NC:

@PSS - Razzles! Yes!

@LovecraftDude -dear lord, I loved Lik em Aids also. Mainly the sticks, how weird is that?
Avatar 11:29pm mama fried:

Razzles! Yes, that's the melting gum, those were habit forming.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29pm pacific standard simon:

Yep, that's it Holly.

Nowadays, my idea of sweets is a 12-year-old tawny port with a biscuit.
  11:29pm LovecraftDude888:

Fun Dip is the proper name for that dreadful stuff! Yeah I recall that gum, too....trying to recall the name. OH yeah, Freshen Up Gum. Oh no!! I bought that a few times. Worse even was the GATOR GUM gatorade gum! Oh putrid city. Really horrendous.
Avatar 11:31pm enzymes:

Gator Aid gum, that sounds worse than awful!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32pm fleep:

This is why gum control is an important issue.
  11:32pm LovecraftDude888:

It was really horrendous, sweet and sour to the point of burning out your mouth. urghh. But it did pretty well for a time.
Avatar 11:33pm Laptops in Lockup:

That is a sticky subject fleep. That depends which side of the table your from.
  11:33pm LovecraftDude888:

this guy seems to want his GatorGum back! But he likes Butterfingers so he has no taste....

Avatar 11:34pm Holly in NC:

I beg to differ. GatorGum rocked. Perfect for long distance track events when you needed to moisten your mouth & couldn't drink anything. I LOVED GatorGum, and in fact used to write Gatoraide begging for its return pretty frequently.
Avatar 11:36pm Holly in NC:

I also loved Aspergum, which I doubt is made anymore.
  11:36pm LovecraftDude888:

ha! The Gator Brigade! I recall when it first hit the market in the 70s and was a big deal. And Xylitol was considered some evil cancer causing substance....
  11:37pm LovecraftDude888:

wow never used Aspergum but that is weird!
Avatar 11:38pm Hellameye:

I was frightened away just by the name "Aspergum".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38pm pacific standard simon:

I frequently abused Aspergum due to mouth sore attacks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm pacific standard simon:

Brought on by Razzle abuse, no doubt.
Avatar 11:41pm Holly in NC:

Lemon Razzles & Orange Aspergum, a match made in heaven
  11:42pm LovecraftDude888:

I do recall being into Razzles they were great. I can't go near any of that stuff anymore. Pixie Sticks were always big. I had a period of being addicted to Sugar Babies.
Avatar 11:44pm Hair Handler:

Lemon Razzles, Orange Aspergum and cough syrup. Sounds like Sangria wine for the aspiring young alcoholic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45pm pacific standard simon:

Lester Bangs has been dead for over 30 years -- take warning, kids!
Avatar 11:48pm Holly in NC:

@HairHandler, in my house we had no cough syrup, but my tee-totalling parents kept a small bottle of schnapps on hand solely for use as a cough suppressant. So... yeah (hic)

Did anyone else have to take Fletchers Castoria?
  11:49pm Tom Peterson:

Great show tonight as always Todd.
