Familiar & forgotten gems from 50-plus years of music on the darker side, shoegaze, synthpop, goth, psychedelia, darkwave, with unapologetic detours into 70s pop. In a dark night of the soul, it's always 3 o'clock in the morning.

Okay folks, so most of the show tonight is Martin's music, plus a lot of talking. I think it's pretty interesting, and the music is great, but I understand if it's not totally your thing this time of night :)

You know, if a person gets one show, it's always going to be a good show. There is more thought into what gets played.
Avatar 4:43am
Julie:

Indeed. I was just amazed how he really picked stuff that fit my show, like he left the hiphop at home

Hey Dax, Julie asked you a question; don't make me come down there...
Avatar 4:50am
Julie:

I just wondered since he asked where I was, most listeners know where WFMU is :)
Avatar 4:52am
CDToaster:

Oh, your listeners understand perfectly well why you asked, Julie; we're just waiting for Dax's answer.
Avatar 4:53am
Julie:

Maybe he knows where Danielle Dax is
Avatar 4:57am
CDToaster:

We're just waiting to hear whether we should welcome a new listener or not. What about it, Dax? Julie's listeners don't like it when she's ignored.
  4:58am
Meghan.:

Would he have hip hop? Hey, maybe it could've been cool dark wave hip hop....
Avatar 4:59am
Julie:

Yeah he did a fair amount of hiphop early on. I don't know if any of it was "dark" though. By the way, this subject will come up shortly twitpic.com...
  5:00am
Meghan.:

CD Toaster, it's ok..... Dax hasn't crossed a line. We get new listeners everyday. Lets not scare anyone away on an implication!

When I heard Rockit, I thought "This is soooo MTV!" But unlike MTV, it's better than I remember. And you came on mic and also bemoaned MTVness of it!
Great interviewee, very articulate, humble, and fantastic stories! I would have sat through much more than two hours worth.

Rational Youth + Men w/out Hates was a thick slice of 80's cheese!
