Listener comments!

  6:10pm
Mike East:

Can we propose counter legislation - "Proposition 'Grow a Pair'"
  6:15pm
NarratorJack:

Your immediate now of your overweight youth was complete, even if it wasn't ecstatic.
  6:17pm
Mike East:

I got bullied for the clothes I wore, which my mother usually bought for me
  6:22pm
Ike:

Sounds like the MPAA is bullying that movie...?
  6:22pm
Another Dave in Philly:

Mike, be glad she didn't make them for you. It could have been worse, sure was for me.
  6:23pm
G:

no-show ---> no-hear ---> no respect
  6:23pm
G:

fishing show? tackle him.
  6:25pm
NarratorJack:

Resume the monologue!
  6:25pm
Caryn:

A couple of people over the years tried to bully me, but gave up after I stared them down or kicked their ass a bit. But I think the bullies I dealt with were from the more moderate side.

The stuff going on with "Bully" is ridiculous. An R rating for a couple of f's? Really? The MPAA have their heads up their asses.
  6:26pm
Ike:

Wait, how do you spell the guest's name?
  6:26pm
Mike East:

I'm not complainin'. It all worked out fine. Eventually I got a job so I could buy my own clothes - and it turned out the people making fun of me are not people whose opinions I give a crap about.
  6:29pm
sue:

have to find it somewhat ironic that Chris is talking about being bullied. My one encounter with him many years ago had me on the bullied end and he was the bulliier!
  6:30pm
NarratorJack:

Ever consider contacting the governor's office and requesting15-30 minutes on the phone with him on the basis that you're calling on behalf of the nation's premier freeform station that happens to be in New Jersey?
  6:30pm
sue:

oops meant to write "he was the BULLY1"
  6:35pm
Eric:

The only real solution is to provide enough adult supervision so that opportunities for bullying are minimized.
  6:37pm
Another Dave in Philly:

Chris, excellent show. I would posit the following:
We live in a country where bullies are rewarded. In spades. One major such public figure was rewarded with a new heart just this week. He apparently was lacking one previous to the operation.
The kids who spat on and did much worse to me in HS are all favorite alumni of said HS, and their spawn are no doubt doing the same to their peers. Agree with your guest they are basically unhappy people, but they are only unhappy when they can't make another person feel bad.
You know about Hugh's Hierarchy? It puts our current society in perspective...
  6:37pm
Mike East:

adopt the mantra, "Fuck the Naysayers"
  6:38pm
Mike East:

I was trying to be funny on the first comment.
  6:39pm
NarratorJack:

Good sir, no word is missing. Your immediate NOW.
  6:45pm
the glowing one:

bully caller
  6:45pm
Caryn:

Memories brought up by the earlier caller:
When me big brother was little, he told my mother (when he was sent to his room without supper for being bad) that he was going to call Child Services that he was being starved...
Then again, I think my parents had it coming. My dad and his brother once punked their mom by shouting in a crowded grocery store "Please, mommy, don't hit us again!"

Another Dave in Philly:

In case the reference was too obscure, this guy lays out our society in 2012...
A bully is a sociopath, by my definition.
  6:53pm
NarratorJack:

This conversation is now unrated.
  6:57pm
you r:

you are a bullt t!
  6:58pm
Ike:

Ah ha, I found the spelling of her name! It's Susie Felber. Cool. Great show, Chris!
  6:58pm
@susiefelber:

Great show -- thanks for having me on, Chris! twitter.com/susiefelber
