  9:00am BSI:

He hath returned! Praise hith holy nameth!
  9:03am Dan B From Upstate:

Oh, Ken. Fancy seeing you here.
  9:03am annie:

amazing; the ken show!
  9:04am Sam:

I feel the way that snowman feels
  9:04am Aaron in Minneapolis:

Welcome back Mr. Manager. How was your extended holiday break?
  9:05am still b/p:

Holy Namath? Broadway Joe's back..? Hallelujah!

That snowman and his lap lady are both....atypically constructed.
  9:05am Ken:

Hi all - Sorry I was away so long! Great to be back.
  9:05am Dickdong:

You're supposed to play stuff I don't know.
How else do I extend my musical knowledge?
Welcome home.
  9:11am Wiz in NYC:

SO HAPPY. Big welcome back kiss.
  9:14am Dan B From Upstate:

b/p, you're right... that snowman has two distinct legs and... feet? I kind of want the magazine, if only to learn what peroxide has to do with wrestling.
  9:16am Ken:

We are building a snowman on stage at the UCB Theater in NYC tonight.
  9:19am schizflow:

i feel the way garland feels in that gif
  9:19am bw:

hey ken Peroxide and wrestling.. ahhhhhhh
  9:20am Robin The Fog:

5 tracks, 5 hits!! I'm going to be very poor if I keep listening much longer!
  9:21am Aaron in Minneapolis:

Just say every school is closed, it will be another WFMU exclusive
  9:22am still b/p:

(gif = Hepburn - Philadelphia Story)

Lap lady's skeletal design must be a long wonder. And snowman's a torquey one, if he had one.
  9:24am BSI:

Come back Tony! All is forgiven!
  9:24am Robin The Fog:

Hey Ken, where you get angry your voice sounds a bit like Mr. Johnson from Sesame Street!
  9:27am Sam:

I bet Ken could do a great Kermit imitation too.
Kermit theeeeee frog!
  9:27am Bad Ronald:

Ouch!
  9:27am BSI:

Good-bye, Testicles.... Hello, Vicodin!
  9:34am schizflow:

  9:46am Lizardner Dave:

Ken is back on Wednesdays, it is truly afternoon in the U.K.
  9:47am Lizardner Dave:

This set is pure and absolute radio genius. Thank you Ken.
  9:47am Cecile:

Ken, do you have "Just Because" by Roosevelt Franklin from Sesame Street? It's on the album The Year of Roosevelt Franklin. It's a great song
  9:47am Dan B From Upstate:

Oh hey... my Android WFMU app doesn't work on cell service anymore. Wi-Fi works fine. Who should I get in contact with to notify about this?
  9:48am Detroit Mac:

Just shoveled out the cars and the walks.. not too bad. Welcome back Ken!
  9:48am Gen. Ripper:

"Women..uh, women sense my power, and they seek the life essence."
  9:48am Richard from Venezuela:

Hi ken. Brutal set of songs.
  9:50am Cecile:

  10:03am Wendy del Formaggio:

Ken, there was a CD released of Guns Part 1 & 2. No other songs appear on the CD. I had it and might still have it in my collection.
  10:04am Mark:

http://www.amazon.com/Guns-Negativland/dp/B000000M70
  10:08am Ken:

Thanks Wendy and Mark! I stand corrected. And I've never even heard Part Two. But it is on the cassette. Anyway, I'd love a clean digital copy, if anybody has one..
  10:12am schizflow:

i can upload it, will take a bit
  10:12am Wendy del Formaggio:

Ken, if I still have the CD, I'll donate it to the station this Friday. If I don't still have it, someone else will have to pick up the slack.
  10:17am Vicki:

I see a little Wing approaching
  10:18am Vicki:

Negativland... ha ha :)
  10:18am trapper:

anyone else have the laurel and hardy marathon on in the background? good stuff all this
  10:18am Carmichael:

Jesus, it's Wednesday. Good morning Kenneth and others of his ilk.
  10:21am steplin:

so happy to listen to this show live for a change!
  10:23am Kenzo:

We used to have the Guns CD at my first station. Negativland pretty much disowned that piece (contractual obligation)...though I like it!
  10:23am Goyim in the AM:

That's Franka Potente and Thomas D on this track, Ken.
  10:23am Karen in Sleepy Hollow:

So glad I didn't have to go in today. Thanks for the Run Lola Run
  10:23am schizflow:

franka is "oddly hot"
  10:24am Ken:

Thank you Goyim! Much appreciated.
  10:24am Aaron:

Snowmoring Ken and all
  10:25am Dan B From Upstate:

I know what you mean, Schizflow. I had a crush on her after seeing this movie, but I couldn't... and still can't put my finger on why.
  10:25am doink:

isn't franka potente an actress?
  10:27am Goyim in the AM:

Yes - she was the star of Lola Rennt, and thus the circle closes in on itself.
  10:27am Cecile:

She is, doink. She was great in the Bourne movies.
  10:27am steplin:

she is an actress. she looked great in dyed hair. it was weird seeing her in a serioius role in Storytelling though. that ended my crush on her.
  10:27am Carmichael:

Hey, those turtles aren't really so "giant". And the love-happy girls in San Antonio are up to $200 per hour.
  10:29am Ken:

She aint "oddly" hot, she's just hot. She was also in The Bourne Identity.
  10:30am Cecile:

My husband says it's because you look in her eyes and know she's thinking deep thoughts.
  10:31am Carmichael:

Now, the chicks DO say Matt Damon is "oddly" hot.
  10:32am Turtles:

We's a-gonna git you. Yer goin' down, Australia.
  10:32am Ken:

Those chicks must not have seen "True Grit."
  10:32am Cecile:

No. Benicio Del Toro is oddly hot (ugly-handsome). Matt Damon is pretty. Jemaine Clement is hot, as is Gael Garcia Bernal.
  10:32am steplin:

She is the intellectual milla jovovich
  10:33am schizflow:

i like to think milla jovovich is the intellectual milla jovovich
  10:34am Ken:

Also Hot: Queen Rania, Princess Latitzia, Carla Bruni and Kate Middleton. It is the golden era of hot first and almost first ladies.
  10:34am Dan B From Upstate:

This set is insanely awesome, Ken.
  10:35am doink:

this set is oddly hot....
  10:36am steplin:

this is Ken's intellectual set
  10:36am marq:

back to normal at wfmu.todd o phonic todd is maybe in disneyland right now taking a break.
  10:37am still b/p:

You can actually download the full turtle terror story itself
http://tinyurl.com/4kwhcay
"Blondes and bogs weren't my racket, normally."

And you can spot an apparent Zappa inspiration on another cover there.
  10:37am Lizardner Dave:

Kate Middleton is way too thin. She needs a meat pie and a few lagers.
  10:37am schizflow:

negativland-guns cd rip: http://www.mediafire.com/?sbpcg6d3bp7bw6h
  10:37am Cecile:

Milla is a sharp cookie. Good musician, good businesswoman, a good actress in the right movie.
  10:39am Kenzo:

Funny, I layered samples of Franka Potente and THX 1138 together in an oddly hot WFMU show once.

  10:39am bbell:

I wish I had a dress that could make me spin (p.s.-who is that girl?)
  10:40am bw:

I took a loooooong shower - did I miss anything?
  10:41am Cecile:

Hey, I got DJ Hero, and all of a sudden I want to do my own mashups. Love that game. Of course, I always have to have the Grandmaster Flash avatar.
  10:41am Dan B From Upstate:

Just some odd hotness, Ben.
  10:41am Swami:

Hey, I made it in. Where is everybody?
  10:41am Ken:

That's Brigitte Bardot Barbara!
  10:42am Aaron:

thats pulp mag site is awesome thanks sb/p
  10:42am doink:

marlo thomas... that girl... oddly not...
  10:44am bw:

man I always miss the hottness
  10:45am CJ The Great:

Being professional is overrated.
  10:46am trrrs:

Re: the turtles and the knives. Turtles that snap tend to have very reduced plastrons -- the shells on the underside They're very exposed. Soft and pudgy usually. So, behaviourally, they have snappy answers to all intruding questions. The knife struggle is goofy.
  10:46am Dan B From Upstate:

No, no, no. Matt Damon is all right. It's Ben Affleck you have to worry about.
  10:48am schizflow:

i think k-o chorale is a pun on noonday's loss of their lead singer
  10:48am OM:

WTF Ken? Fast zombies!?

Slow zombies are a commentary on humanity.
  10:48am Goyim in the AM:

You can call me Listener Colin, Ken, for that is my name.
  10:48am JFK:

Axe not what you can do...
  10:49am steplin:

maybe a commentary on humanity - but not SCARY in the least
  10:49am seang:

is Bardot sporting some armpit hair? ..Sexy
  10:50am schizflow:

zombies have become a commentary on the rise of alzheimer's
  10:50am OM:

The zombies aren't supposed to scare you, the people around you are.

Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster and all that jazz.
  10:52am Carmichael:

The zombies around this office don't scare me. I just wish they'd do some damn work.
  10:52am steplin:

OM - I hear ya. but when I watch zombie movies - I want to be scared. slow doesn't do it in 2011. Fast does.
  10:52am Mark:

http://www.capsulecomputers.com.au/2010/06/dj-hero-2-and-free-dj-hero-tracks/
  10:54am Anita:

We're on Day Three of our snow days down here in Atlanta. Every time they announce closures for the following day, including the college I work for, we do a shot.
  10:54am Karen in Sleepy Hollow:

Slow zombies are much more likely to sneak up and eat you. The fast ones are not the undead, its like rabies or something. When there is no more room in hell the dead will walk the earth!
  10:55am still b/p:

I'm thinkin "Zoombies!" ...and then I see it's an actual term.
  10:56am CJ The Great:

slow zombies in exceeding numbers can be scary. Fast zombies are medically impossible! They're dead! Their muscles have no proteins and such to produce faster body movement..
  10:56am mouse:

(thought i might hear the heidi cross-eyed opossum song here today)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8romj2KKZ0
  10:57am trrrs:

And without shells on their soft underbellies, I bet those zombies are pretty snappy dressers.
  10:57am OM:

Ken just started an argument that has divided the Internet since the early days
  10:59am PMD:

Welcome back Ken. Glad I can listen for a couple minutes... enjoy the snow!
  10:59am Cecile:

If you play Plants versus Zombies, you have fast and slow zombies for different games. And it doesn't matter how fast or slow they are, if you don't plan for the zombies with the buckets on their heads, you are toast.
  10:59am Dan B From Upstate:

I fear zombies, as I feel that will be how the world ends, but I prefer them slow. That way I have something resembling a chance of getting away from them. The Walking Dead is phoenominal television, but it's not really a zombie show. It's a character based drama with zombies as a back drop.
  11:02am still b/p:

Poll: Should Westboro Baptist Church members be swarmed and eaten by snapping turtles or zombies?
  11:03am schizflow:

what does any of this have to do with Franka?
  11:03am Cecile:

Dan B, so then Shaun of the Dead was more a zombie character comedy?
  11:04am steplin:

still b/p: neither. they should be forced to sit on a float in a gay pride parade
  11:04am Dan B From Upstate:

Exactly. See, Cecile gets it! :-D
  11:05am Carmichael:

Lavern's doing her best Screamin' Jay impression.
  11:06am ?:

still b/p
Now that's the kind of violent rhetoric you can believe in!
  11:06am Lizardner Dave:

still b/p: Fast-moving zombie snapping turtles, of course!
  11:07am Cecile:

Hey, some Jinx Lennon would be awesome right about now.
  11:07am still b/p:

Hello. My name is still b/p, and I'm....a vitriolic.
  11:07am Cecile:

Lizardner Dave, I must agree.

Another plus about Plants vs Zombies is that there are zombie dolphins.
  11:07am CJ The Great:

My she's quite rough on that banana! Hey there's Dolphin Guy!!
  11:07am steplin:

this sounds like malcom mcdowell
  11:08am Cecile:

YES.
  11:11am schizflow:

this is bowie to bowie
  11:12am Cecile:

Can you hear me up here man?
  11:12am Carmichael:

Wrong song there Schiz, although they're on the same album.
  11:13am jan:

what's with all the Korean Happy New Year imagery?
  11:13am Carmichael:

Oh wait, I get jokes ....
  11:13am CJ The Great:

It's always Business Time.
  11:14am Carmichael:

I only see 1 Korean banner. The bucket baby appears to be japanese, but I'm not sure.
  11:15am Cecile:

CJ, so it's always wednesday in your world?
  11:15am still b/p:

B-girl is Paulette Goddard and I love her. So did Chaplin.
  11:15am schizflow:

bucket baby is having deja vu
  11:15am Carmichael:

That's because Wednesday is Hump Day.
  11:15am teknoel:

I'm gonna call him queasy bee
  11:16am CJ The Great:

Cecile everyday is payday in my world. Bucket Babies grow up to be phenominal subway bucket drummers.
  11:17am Cecile:

I like your world.
  11:18am jan:

Nope- it's korean writing.
  11:18am Carmichael:

Damn those sandwich fishermen! Now I'm starving. I'm such a marketing tool ....
  11:19am cHERI pI:

Snorting at this mashup
  11:19am CJ The Great:

How long could their sandwich vessel last until the bread gets too soggy?
  11:20am steplin:

didnt you ready cloudy with a chance of meatballs?! it;s STALE bread!
  11:21am BSI:

Paulette Goddard, eh? oh hell.....
  11:22am Jamesie:

Reginald Bosenquet used toread the 10 O'CLock news on ITV and was usually pretty well-oiled before going to air...
  11:22am Goyim in the AM:

"des konnst glam" is Bavarian dialect, and means "you can think that".
  11:23am CJ The Great:

No bread can resist the sogginess invading its gaping porous caverns.
  11:24am steplin:

Thanks CJ. Now I can't read that book again.
  11:25am CJ The Great:

Glad to be of assistance. That's how I roll. HA! roll...but not as in bread.
  11:26am Cecile:

I'm picturing little donut life preservers now.
  11:29am Dan B From Upstate:

I'm picturing croissant water wings.
  11:29am CJ The Great:

COCKFIGHT! Two men enter!!! One man leaves!! THUNDERDOME!!!
  11:29am Cecile:

Dim sum dumpling floats.
  11:30am Goyim in the AM:

I have googled, Ken, and the girl who sings on "Junger Mann" is Carmen Thelen-Gaspar, who was one of the Marinas as in Andreas Dorau and the Marinas, who did "Fred vom Jupiter". Dorau also sings on the track (he's the boy who finally convinces the girl) and is in the movie.
  11:30am BSI:

nope, sorry. no bread products. still on a mental paulette goddard bender.
  11:33am Ken:

Goyim, you are the best! I will never google anything again!
  11:34am Dan B From Upstate:

Rearrange the letters in Goyim... and you get Google! That's how he knows!
  11:34am Cecile:

Hire Goyim as your intern, Ken.
  11:34am CJ The Great:

I use peanut butter to cover my tracks...the dogs lose my scent.
  11:35am Goyim in the AM:

It is helpful if you can google in more than one language. She had a solo album called "Puppe aus Glas" under the name Carmen -- pretty nice Neue Deutsche Welle Stuff -- I never made the connection before.
  11:35am schizflow:

i missed it, what do you do with dogs and peanut butter?
  11:36am Cecile:

I dunno, but dogs love peanut butter, even though it sticks their jaws together a little.
  11:36am CJ The Great:

Schiz be cool...THEY are watching...you know...THEM!!!
  11:38am schizflow:

you're wrong. they don't know about this place.
  11:39am Carmichael:

Ken, did you put up the toe-ring pic for Rex Ryan?
  11:39am CJ The Great:

I'm applying for an EZ-Pass for my Rascal Mobility Scooter. I'm hoping to get a discount at peak hour.
  11:41am schizflow:

it is unfortunately a popular misconception that rascals don't make good pets.
  11:41am annie:

soo sweet to have the sounds of SM Ken back on the air
  11:41am Ken:

Carmichael - Of COURSE I did! Why else would I post an animated toe ring image? I mean, really!
  11:42am Carmichael:

Ken, Pascal Pinon's Facebook site shows the song title as En Pu Varst ævintýr.
  11:42am still b/p:

Speaking of Thunderdome....I wanna to see remakes of the Mad Max pics with Rascal scooters!
  11:43am CJ The Great:

b/p that would be like watching slow zombie turtles.
  11:44am Rex Ryan:

Thanks Ken buddy, I got tons of foot fotos I could share with you if you want
  11:45am Ken:

Thanks Carmichael!!! I love it when people here fill in the gaps!! Hey, I just saw Thunderdome, and I couldn't BELIEVE how terrible it was! It made me ashamed for doing all those shows at The Thunderdome all those years.
  11:47am CJ The Great:

They really knew how to party in Thunderdome with all that methane gas around.
  11:48am CJ The Great:

Svetlana I'm in love!!!
  11:49am Ken:

That Thunderdome Party sucked. Too many kids around. It was like that Star Trek episode where they landed on the planet of the kids. Fuck that Shit.
  11:49am Carmichael:

This sounds like the guy watering the lettuce down at the supermarket when I was a kid.
  11:50am CJ The Great:

It's always ruined by those meddling kids and that DOG!
  11:52am maja NL:

wowie! Tank you Ken it is a great show! It will be listened to more often!
  11:55am Sigurjon:

Just because I'm the only Icelandic person listening today, I must point out that it's spelled "En þú varst ævintýr" and it means "but you were a adventure"...which doesn't make any sense to me.
