Tir Chonaill Abu:

Love this show Monica, great music and the start tonight is creating a great soundscape. Even if I can't always listen live here in Donegal due to the lateness always enjoy the chance to listen to it later. Loved last week's tribute to Solomon Burke on your show. Such sad news to hear of his passing.
  7:11pm
Don (trip dub):

Hey Mo. how's the Butter. Steinski - a variation of Starsky and Hutch or the 'ski' appendage was the thing to do back then or none of the above.

Ah yes - Luv Bug Starski. Thx for clearing that up. Bamboo Kids who played at Dean's drug front records birthday at Trash Bar (a great set on FMU 3 Chord Monte show w/ Blelock in April) smoked. Dash Rip Rock did 'P-o-t' in place of Danny & Juniors 'at the hop' - a real hoot!

Mo, I am SO cooking, which is what Bill and I do on Sundays - make a meal not just for the eve, but also to get us through the week, what with our hideous commutes. Making several seasonal dishes tonight involving pumpkin and chicken!
  7:36pm
Parq:

Well it's not exactly dinner, but one of the Union Square Greenmarket vendors introduced a new juice this summer, a blend of apple and lemonade (no sugar added). I've been wondering how it would go with vodka, and I think the time to find out has arrived. Cheers!
  7:37pm
Liz B.:

Mo is the best dinner DJ! Cooking some spinach and portabella lasagna, plus a salad with tomatoes and hearts of palm!

Tir Chonaill Abu:

@Parq- Hope you enjoyed your visit to Donegal, If you were in Killybegs did you head out to beautiful Teelin. Has a great bay and tiny harbour that lies between some mountains. Great place to dive and swim. Has a great rock formation that is called the Giant's desk, coz that's what it looks like. Great pub as well called the Rusty Mackerel, it has connections to a family of musicians. Used to have great music sessions and you meet loads of characters. If there is no live music they play crazy mix tapes, once spent a sozzled afternoon where the tape went from the theme to the A Team straight to Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd, it kinda worked, then again maybe it was the drink.
  8:05pm
aido:

Tir Chon. It was in Sept. '85, on our honeymoon. (The rest of you, excuse the mushy stuff). Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" and Baltimora's "Tarzan Boy" were on the radio. Saw a glorious rainbow in Ardara one afternoon, just as the schoolkids were heading home. Didn't make it to Teelan, but drove through Glenties (tee hee) and all the way up through the Glenesh (?) pass to Glencolomkille, and came all the way home in the dark. Whew!
  8:27pm
jtp cronyn:

Great to hear the Whipporwills! Don't be afraid to play more of them; they were also great singers. thanks!
  8:28pm
listener gary:

Hello dj monica. You caught me on an off sunday night. I usually am cooking up a storm during the first hour and chowing down to superb food during the second. But tonight I just wasn't into it and so I had microwaved sessame chicken left over from last nihgt. Ok but the rice was a little crunchy.
Best!!!
  8:29pm

Tir Chonaill Abu:

@Parq- Sounds good- The Glengesh pass is something else, won't ask how you ended up spending your honeymoon in Ireland but hope it's all good memories. And make sure you make it back sometime. "Running Up That Hill", great track and apt for here. Anyways I best head off as it's heading to 1-30am over here. Good night or good morning to all. listeners. I will catch the rest of the show tamara Monica. Great tunes and great start to the week ahead.

  8:58pm
Jeff M:

After dropping some knockwurst and weisswurst in our bellies at a Brooklyn biergarten, we drank the rest of our dinner. Oh, and we totally recognized the hostess at the hotel lounge from some season of America's Next Top Model. She seemed as tall as me, and that's pretty tall.
  8:58pm
monica:

Jeff, no apologies ever necessary. Sounds like a swellegant evening...CB1, and likewise!!!
  9:00pm
Ronzoni Sonobuoni:
