  9:22am midwesternskirt:

this is some good eats
  9:26am Bad Ronald:

Saw EC with the Attractions touring Imperial Bedroom and then again for Useless Beauty and they rocked both shows! Wish I caught the Imposters' tour where they used a roulette wheel to determine the set though...
  9:26am midwesternskirt:

those incorrigable deal sisters! i used to live behind kim deal's house in dayton. never home. lots of unmarked packages on the porch, though!
  9:28am Bad Ronald:

I love the Breeders' cover of "Lord of The Thighs"!
  9:30am paulthepostman:

MWskirt - more than myjobsworth to leave pkgs on the porch.
  9:36am JJZ:

  9:39am Bad Ronald:

  9:46am Bad Ronald:

  9:47am paulthepostman:

...the sorting office.
  9:50am dc pat:

p the p: do you have the authority to "confiscate" suspicious packages?
  9:51am Bad Ronald:

The Snorting Orifice...
  9:53am dc pat:

  9:57am dc pot:

that was a pretty bitchin set.
  9:59am paulthepostman:

BR - more aromarajuana than any other.
  10:02am Bad Ronald:

Sgt. Stedenko: The only way to catch a doper is when you yourself become a smoker. The surest way to make them bleed is when you bust their ass and steal their weed.
  10:08am stingy d:

i'm wearing the shirt that i got the name stingy d from today OK!!!?
  10:10am Bad Ronald:

  10:11am paulthepostman:

...stigny d, thats cool son.
  10:13am stingy d:

yea dad i know.
  10:15am annie:

ok, stop me if you heard this one: i was stuck in traffic in scranton and i happened to locate the college station as i was siting there. the dj put on some of the best techno i had ever heard. my son was flabbergasted that i was thumping the wheel and shaking the car with the beat. he was so embarrassed, but that was some good music... and as i said, the car's speakers are the secret..
  10:16am stingy d:

what's brown and rhymes with snoop?
  10:18am Carmichael:

What's brown and sounds like a bell?
  10:19am uncle lonely:

dr dre?
  10:19am stingy d:

this elliot humberto kavee is great! got any info on this character?
  10:20am annie:

jason, this is great!!!
  10:21am Carmichael:

Hey Annie, I caught the Kottke reference as soon as I read it. I thought, "From the ice cream, from the ice cream, from the ..."

Great song. I have a VHS of him playing it on Austin City Limits about 20 years ago. It never gets old.
  10:23am Bad Ronac the Magnificent:

Bim Sala Bim

*Holds envelope to turban*

Sperm Bank!
  10:23am Bad Ronac the Magnificent:

*Opens envelope*

Build it and they will come.

  10:27am GP:

Stingy..get the archive for today...You missed Costes...although it was a much tamer version than the one we originally heard.
  10:29am uncle lonely:

thanks gp! i actually ended up getting a copy of "born in usa" and i listen to it a bit too much
  10:33am GP:

10-4 UL.....I think once would be enough for me.

Jason, this song is some haunting shiznit.
  10:33am golly:

it's so dark outside and this track is bumming me out, jason
  10:37am Parq:

An interesting take on "Born In" -- the music blog "Cover Me" occasionally does full albums - track by track covers of entire albums. Here's the one they did for the Boss's iconic 80s release.

  10:37am Kevin:

More Urinals!
  10:37am paulthepostman:

TRYING to get it together to cycle to the beach to catch sunset but will settle for view from window, again. Unless cacophony subsides, that is.
  10:38am GP:

Bad Ronac..in case you need some new material:

  10:39am Bad Ronald:

  10:40am uncle lonely:

did anyone go out and get that clyde borly record?
  10:41am Bad Ronald:

I snoozed...
  10:43am GP:

Parq, thanks for that link, definitely a keeper.
  10:45am uncle lonely:

clyde borly is not to be slept on and it is widely available for downlaod in the world of blogspots
  10:47am Bad Ronald:

I know, I know...
  10:50am dc pat:

ul: alright gimme a blog where I can get borly--cain't find one.
  10:53am uncle lonely:

not clyde:

  10:54am Parq:

Pat, herre's one. I searched the name on Google's blog search function (under "more" off the main page), and this was the first hit.

  10:57am Bad Ronald:

Got it - Thanks folks!
  10:59am dc pat:

jumping through hoops to get it...thanks.
  11:02am dc pat:

20 bricks on head, the precision is amazing
  11:08am Ironman:

Man Who Came To Kill Gets Knocked Out!
  11:14am Cecile:

I saw Elvis Costello in 1984 solo with my 13 year old sister. It was ok with the guitar, but when he moved to the piano, both of us were over him so fast it was unbelievable. We left at intermission and got ice cream. I keep trying, but except for the odd single here and there, and other people's covers, I'm not so into EC
  11:16am dc pat:

aaahh, thanks Cecile. I'm TOTAlly with you.
  11:16am dc pat:

that stupid car commercial didn't help...
  11:17am uncle lonely:

i saw that mope in chicago years ago and he was pathetic through and through.
  11:17am Cecile:

I have those first three albums in my DNA, and This Year's Model is a fantastic album that I could probably sing like Nick the Bard.

But cause I love all ya'll, I'll spare you.
  11:19am Cecile:

ahaha! DNA! this is a GOOD day!
  11:21am Bad Ronald:

No worries here. I am staunch! I even dug the Burt Bacharach deal...
  11:23am annie:

(whispering quietly) i like elvis costello. :(
  11:23am Cecile:

Bad Ron, you are the kind of fan any artist would be lucky to have.
  11:23am Cecile:

annie, I used to! really!
  11:25am annie:

i love his weird diversity... and that thing he did, the juliet series. it was great
  11:25am stingy d:

i like elvis costello more than jean grae
  11:25am Parq:

I saw Elvis in '77, just a little while before he did his infamous Sat Nite Live stand. The only album most Amers knew was "My Aim Is True" and folks in Boston thought him a pretender to the Graham Parker throne. Most of us had never even heard him with the Attractions. The set was heavy with "This Year's Model" and roared like thunder. Needless to say, it completely changed our perceptions of him.
  11:25am Bad Ronald:

Don't get me wrong. Everyone missteps, some more often than others. But I gotta say he has come back around. Momofuku was not stellar but it did not totally suck!
  11:27am Cecile:

Believe me, folks, Patti Smith has dragged me through some crap and yet I remain completely loyal...
  11:27am annie:

twelve was great!
  11:27am uncle lonley:

momfuku is a fancy restuarant... he named his record after expensive food.
  11:28am dc pat:

that's an interesting topic: who have you followed through thick and thin and why?
  11:28am Bad Ronald:

Parq - If you listen to any of the bootlegs from that era there is no doubt the Attractions were a force to be reckoned with.
  11:28am Parq:

Well, Declan's doing that Elder Statesman bit, same as Nick Lowe and Ray Davies. I dunno, I just don't think rock & roll is about old guys.
  11:29am UNCLE LONELY!!!:

me affi gwan killya pussyclot bottybwoy!
  11:29am Bad Ronald:

Momofuku is the guy who invented the instant noodles. The album was made rather quickly hence the title...
  11:29am Cam the Man:

Poochi, baba, buttah got the hardest shells, we the midwest gun cartel
  11:29am Parq:

10-4 BR. I still clutch jealously to my cassette recording of the radio-only "Live at El Macambo" album.
  11:30am annie:

i'm willing to give greg brown one more chance..
i've been a fan of his since dream cafe.
i love john prine and will listen to anything he has to sing or say. and laurie anderson, too..
  11:31am dc pat:

parq: 10-4 on old guys, I wish Sonic Youth would hang it up.
  11:31am Bad Ronald:

I often spin that one Parq. The guy screaming incessantly in the audience cracks me up!
  11:31am Cecile:

I like Nick Lowe's elder stateman music. I'm split on Ray Davies'. And I will also follow Fred and Toody Cole into hell as well.

Mark E. Smith and the Fall.
I used to be a diehard Megadeth fan until Dave finally lost it and became a nutjob wingnut.

I still kind of care about Metallica, even though I shouldn't.

I gave up on Sonic Youth around Sonic Nurse. I loved that weird mid 90s stuff. I must have been the only one.
  11:31am Shepherd:

Jason, this song is awesome.
  11:33am annie:

(to name a few) i'm pretty monogamous with band loyalty, will stick through anything... and you can't beat, with any stick, gordon bok
  11:33am Bad Ronald:

Yeah John Prine does it.

The Dickies have never let me down!
  11:33am north guinea hills:

dude, i miss aaron spectre since he moved to berlin. his dulcimer drum & bass pieces were deep....
  11:33am Cecile:

Speaking of LA, I even liked the Weirdo's later stuff. They always were interesting.
  11:34am Chad:

Yo -- can you PLEASE tell us more about Bloodclot Gangsta Youth? I can't find that track you played anywhere! Gotta have it, man! THANKS for playing it!
  11:34am dc pat:

I hate any album after a band's first one...just kiddin.

The Ex is the only band I stick with through it all.
  11:35am GP:

Lee "Scratch" Perry can do no wrong.
  11:35am uncle lonely:

yea i'm with chad
  11:35am dc pat:

yeah, bloodclat gangsta was right on.
  11:35am Cecile:

I just wish Captain Beefheart would make one more record. It could be frickin' TaTu covers, and I wouldn't care. Just one more record.

The Ex have a great track record.
  11:36am dc pat:

oh, and Billy Childish has NEVER let me down.
  11:36am uncle lonely:

i'm also with cecile
  11:36am annie:

yeah cecile i agree with you on the CB
  11:37am uncle lonely:

I wish the beastie boys would stop and I have never lost interest in wu-tang
  11:39am Jason:

Hey Chad, I just updated the playlist entry with all the info on the 7'', wish i knew more about it
  11:40am annie:

oh, bad ronald, i am just getting the last of the 78s listed today, the snow set me back a bit.
  11:41am dc pat:

so far I've never given up on Bloodclot Gangsta Youth
  11:41am Bad Ronald:

Cool Annie thanks for the update. Have you heard back from Joe M?
  11:42am Chad:

Thanks a ton, Jason!
  11:42am annie:

yes, we are in contact, i last heard from him friday..
  11:43am annie:

i'm hoping to send them sunday with my SO
  11:43am Bad Ronald:

cool thanks.
  11:46am annie:

i'm sitting here realizing that my head hasn't stopped bobbing to the beat for half an hour at least. yeah BR, he's already fussing about where and when to drop em off.
  11:47am uncle lonely:

any info you find abotu bloodclot ganster youth would be much oblgied chad... i'm struggling over here
  11:47am Swami:

Gotta love the kinski
  11:48am Parq:

I'm kind of Annie's flip side -- if you bore me, you're gone, no matter how much I still love your old stuff. Shrugged of recent mediocreties from Bowie, XTC (although they redeemed themselves with Wasp Star) and others. Don't get me started on the Stones or McCartney. And I would totally buy an album of Captain Beefheart taTu covers.
  11:50am uncle lonely:

bloodclot gangster youth's label lacksinfo on their website... despite being called do tinfo... odd

  11:50am Bad Ronald:

Did you hear the new Firemen Parq? It's pretty good...
  11:51am Carmichael:

I [heart] Beefheart.
  11:51am Bad Ronald:

I'm hoping Joe B has a track lined up for us today. He's usually good for it.
  11:52am annie:

great show jason, thanks for bringing me up to snuff today
  11:52am dc pat:

right on Parq, I don't have time for crappy albums when there's so much good stuff out there....ditto on Beefheart.
  11:54am Bad Ronald:

Yeah great show Jason, I dig this Sikhara track quite a bit. Thanks!
  11:54am Jason:

Hey thanks Annie, thanks for listening and/or commenting every1! Happy thanksgiving, stay tuned!
  11:55am annie:

purchssion purcussion purcussion. woohoo
  11:57am annie:

good thing i brought my airdrums with me
  11:58am Parq:

Super show, Jason. Bring it on, Joe.
  12:00pm north guinea hills:
