There's something about Zoey Beatrice's show that gives me that "you're almost there, it's Thursday" feeling. It's that feeling before you finish something, when the anticipation of finishing it and the rest to follow begins to set in, and then, because of that good feeling, work somehow, miraculously, becomes a really fun thing, as if by magic.

And then, like, it's the end of the day on Thursday, and I began my day (I'm an early, early riser, as it's when I write) with Zoey Beatrice who warmed me up for Clay Pigeon, and now I'm driving home, and I'm like, I'm gonna walk the dogs, have dinner with my wife, give her a footrub, go to sleep, and then it'll be Friday morning, and the weekend is just about here, and this time it's Cat Bomb Radio before Clay Pigeon.

But that's tomorrow. Right now, there's the anticipation of the weekend. Naomi Shamble got us through Hump Day. Thursday morning belongs to Zoey Beatrice. Submit. Let go.

Wow. What a breakthrough.

I was tardy with seeing original Blade Runner.
Musta 1st been a second run screening re-release (late 80s?) perhaps with the silly H.Ford voice over exposition removed. As I recall Ridley Scott had felt that marred the original 1982 release. Seen it on the big screen in various re-jiggered versions. It’s so much better as seen on a larger darkened room screening.
- that soundtrack had haunted me for years - patience was rewarded once a more complete version arrived amidst the CD remastering & extended complete versions boom (mid-90s thru 2000’s)?

I had the distinct pleasure of seeing the original "Director's Cut" version at the Nuart in Los Angeles in 1991. It was a rough, rough cut, and there was this glorious excitement; that week, the Nuart Theater was the highest grossing single theater west of the Hudson River (I still remember that in L.A. Weekly...west of the Hudson).

Anyway, just good, good memories...the kind of thing you expect when listening to WFMU at 4 AM Eastern Standard Time.

How long has it been? 👁️went thru very 1st tussle w/ covid December’23 and it took 3 long weeks to feel even near miss to “normal” again - whatever that means.
More like 5 weeks before I felt vigorous again. These new strains are no joke! -Ugh🙄

ha - The Fall Guy - as far as poopcorn (💩🌽=🍿) movies go, my partner & eye both thought it was stellar entertainment. Often the action genre weighs-in on the too dumb and overloaded with mindless violence. We thought this had a playfulness & at least some heat from Ryan & Emily (pretty darn rare in films these days). Anyway, positive vibes from us. Maybe it assisted seeing it with 200 other film-attending types = a College Town.

Erik/VT:

Talking film: much grimmer but also🔥, we finally caught ‘Love Lies Bleeding’🩸, a woman’s take on a Thelma & Louise reboot concept. It’s intense & tough, but pretty thrilling & memorable.

Same, saw them live around that time and it was a great show

Erik/VT:

Folks are referring to it as The Mullet Movie - total 80s vibe immersion (which was simultaneously fun & tortuous to relive). The flinty and often stellar Ed Harris pulls off one heck of a ‘SKULLET’ - his scary mode in this. K-Stew is great as usual, with her method chops on view. & the newbies provide much eye opening worthiness. Thats my 2cents. It’s intense (did I mention that already…😉).

Naomi was playing trax from that soundtrack “I Saw TV Glow” new film … has anybody listening seen that yet?
