A show that kinda feels like Casey Kasem cookin’ up crockpot shortwave pirate radio, but with a lot more curbside cassette mixtapes, lost radio serials, French Canadian comedy… and zings, pings, and static. Or, well, maybe it doesn’t feel anything like that at all.

One of my best friends almost died while taking an inebriated piss into the local canal after the group parted for the night... and by local canal I mean four metre tall stone walls 😬 Thankfully the girl he was chatting up could get help and the ambulance later came to make sure he was okay.
Best part of the story, ambulance personnel asked him: "have you done any drugs?" A: "of course I have, I'm English!"

under related news, the murder of the 6 yr old, reminds me... when i was about4-5 yrs old was playing alley tag w/ some other children, and this man comes out of his house and yells get off my property, since i wasn't on his property i said, i'm not on your property, the other kids knew the guy and all ran away, but i tried to reason with him. he picked up a brick and threw it at me which hit me in the leg and caused a huge welt. the police were called, but nothing was done because the only witnesses were children. a short time later two girls were discovered in his basement who he had kidnapped.

Oh fascinating! I'm forever interested in the re-opening of cold cases as science and technology advances. It's been such a massive asset to law enforcement...

Forensic genealogy has been crazy successful tool in the UID cold case world recently and I'm really quite grateful we're closing cases we couldn't normally close with other biometrics alone

There is a classic case here in Sweden from the 90s called Fallet Kevin (Kevin's case, on wikipedia Death of Kevin Hjalmarsson). It is used as a textbook case of how NOT to interview children, specifically how investigators can unknowingly influence children's answers. Only in the last couple years have the two wrongly accused children received justice, it was really interesting to learn about.
