“great soundtracks to bad movies“ ha! I had the misfortune of seeing that stinker, and I don’t even remember about the music. I’m sure it was the only redeeming quality of it.

There is Richie Ramone solo stuff?! I thought I was pretty up-to-date on all the former/solo Ramones recordings. Another one to add to the list, thanks!

Just the other night, my wife, who is a fan of Chelsea Handler, was reading these really horrible, mean things that Joan Rivers said about her. Joan was a giant, but awfully cranky sometimes!

Erik-O-Vert:

re B-B-B-Bennie Folds: Heard a semi-brilliant (room ta grow?) newer song from him titled “Kristine from the 7th Grade” ! (released 6/2/23). 2 versions: a stripped down piano alive version ! & an orchestrated studio version. Listen & Have fun and perhaps shed a nostalgic single tear💧.

Erik-O-Vert:

Wait - since yer son is a film study-er, I wanted to ask: what did your son think of “TRIANGLE OF SADNESS” ?

…. Licorice Pizza ? PTA seems to have his fingers on a particular aspect of “west coast vibes” - (I wouldn’t know, since I’ve only visited the west). Yes ?
Avatar 11:54pm
Bob Barth:

↳ Erik-O-Vert @11:49
YES!! We both dug it. I grew up on the east coast, but Jackson is a West Coast boy. PT is fantastic.
  11:57pm
Erik-O-Vert:

I know it’s cheesy, yet I found the soundtrack to the 1st season (& beyond) of White Lotus infectious.
Mike White is a hero for some. Ever since I saw him
In the jaw-dropper film “Chuck & Buck” = Whoa.
I was so darn frustrated when HBO prematurely cancelled “Enlightened” before the story arc could wrap-up !

re Licorice Pizza: delighted by the entire aesthetic, but particularly surprised how strong the performance by Alana Haim / musician was. Thought the interaction between Cooper Hoffman and Alana was wonderful.

↳ Song: "December 1963 (Oh What A Night)" by "Four Seasons"
Frankie Valli is like Jekyll and Hyde: his high-pitched screechy voice with early four seasons jabs me in the ears like an ice pick , but songs like this and other songs where he keeps his voice down I just love.
Avatar 12:25am

re 1884:Oh yea, now i know what chew speak of. Faith Hill was always easy on my eyes.
btw: i thought the film "BARDO..." got really short shrift'ed! - considering that directors already respected career! It was just as great as his prior films. I saw an early cut via Telluride (i believe prior to a slightly edited version? for semi-evil Netflix?). Anyway, for Bowie-fans-freaks like moiself, there is an acapella 'Let's Dance' moment that gave me freakin chills! So great.
