totally fair! I won't do any activity outside if the AQI is 100 or higher. That's a new acronym for you New Yorkers! the biggest one I was in was a 6.1, epicenter about 60 miles away. Book shelves came down, and the interior windows in the classroom cracked, but, that was about it. It lasted almost 3 minutes, but that was it...

Not much you take for granted more than the earth beneath you not shifting cataclysmically. Got used to tremors when in SoCal - like a big truck going by your door... You just hope they pass & don't keep going ...tho there are also different 'flavors' ...waves that pass from one horizon to the other ...sudden vertical shifts like a Bang...

i can imagine.
the only tremor i was aware of ...i just looked at my partner who was on the other side of the car we'd just emerged from. she said "yes that was a tremor".
i'm used to the feeling from trucks or trains nearby, but i noted the quiet instantly after.

I am reading a book where everyone is trapped in the basement of a building after an earthquake and probably not getting rescued. It’ss the last chapter. I was just re- watching that market street footage from right before the earthquake
