Greets all! Working hella late tonight but the tunes will get me through....on top of it, I forgot that they were shutting off the hot water in my building between 1-5, and I was stuck on the phone with Mom's Estate Stuff, so sitting in a cloud of my own funk until they re-hook up the boiler...

McGroovey:

A house on my street still had a functional outdoor privy until the mid-seventies. The woman who lived there was in her nineties, and she'd lived there her whole life, and never felt the need to install indoor plumbing.

The house I grew up in still had a useable privy until the eighties, but it hadn't been used since the thirties when indoor plumbing was installed. The privy itself was attached to the house. It was a two-holer. Classy! We used it as a closet. It was in the laundry room (formerly the wood shed). My parents took it off in the eighties when the decided to move the back door to that spot.

Equinox = 'equal night'
Solstice = 'sun stands still'
Equinox here is one of two days a year Day & Night are equal length - going by sunrise & sunset (not dawn & dusk)... Also - this is when the Sun rises & sets due East-West. So check that out where you are.
