I learned from the VU movie, that one of the reasons, it seems, that a lot of NY rockers/punks hated hippies was because they felt like, if you don't like the system or want to help people, DO something about it--don't just drop acid and talk about love

@Marie - I'm really interested in hearing that part of the film. I remember reading in Please Kill Me that the NYC vibe of the Velvets was a bridge too far for conventional West Coast hippies. The NYC crew were real freaks whereas the the West Coast hippies were really conventional when it came down to it (re: gayness, gender roles, lifestyles ewt al).

He told me he was driving late at night across the country and listening to the VU and *that* part of "Heroin" came on and one of the other guys woke up and said, "What the hell is *this*?!" @Candy-O respect for seeing The Bellfuries! I saw Luna supporting Matthew Sweet (with the opener/3rd band being Low) in 1994. Decent bill.

This is total fantasyland territory but I'd love to hear early 90s Crazy Horse jammin out on some Dead Moon songs.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:57pm
Handy Haversack:

Saw someone in very cool Dead Moon shirt at the Sweeping Promises show Friday night. Not that that helps with the plan, tim, but I hadn't said anything in a while. Stupid work!

Hey Joe, Another Kick Ass show. Looking forward to the Neilage on Friday.

Candy-O'67:

Cool, Bill! They played a show in Austin and one in San Antonio this weekend and had all original members in SA show. Joey now lives in LA. So, first time I've seen them in a while. A few Austin musicians were at the show, including Marti Brom, Rosey Flores, and Joe Emery and Jeanine Attaway from the Ugly Beats. The Ugly Beats are my friends and Marti is an acquaintance. It was so great to see so many out! They had a great turnout!
