  8:33pm Listener Robert:

Am I the only one cracks up at the scene in "Z" where the lame guy sneaks around the corner, not lame? Cartoonish villainy always makes me laugh. Like when the guy in "Twin Peaks" goes behind someone's back to cosh him on the head, hiding the weapon. But I often bother people in theaters when I laugh at stuff like that.

It's like if I saw someone being killed in a normal manner, that's tragic. But BEHEADED demonstratively, that's funny if it's done quickly enough. And if someone is dismembered even more spectacularly such that the body parts get spread around, like by a bomb, that's hilarious. Nothing as funny as someone's head flying loose while rotating thru the air, whether the victim deserved it or not.

I first noticed opinion on such things was not unanimous when I found the passage in The Once And Future King about wild boar running up a sword to the hilt and eating the sword wielder wasn't considered funny by my schoolmates.

Thank you Devon! And Thank You Theodorakis!
  9:12pm Mahall:

Theodorakisn"ffell out of favor" with the Greek military government in '66, and all performance of his works, wether private or public, were prohibited. He was arrested, imprisoned for 5 months, and released in '68. He went into exile, only coming home when the military government was driven out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:45pm Michael 98145:

Fine tribute. Thank you. ευχαριστώ
