Hmmm, not sure about Shock G co-writing of "Mama Said Knock You Out", no official writing credits on the label (only LL and Marley Marl).

Maybe that's from the Sly and the Family Stone drum sample with the tell-tale hit used in "Humpty Dance", which many other records sampled later on, including "Mama Said Knock You Out".

The Tina Turner documentary is good though it spends a lot of time on her trauma and maybe not enough time on her creativity. I would have liked to have seen a segment on her performance in Tommy, what was it like to work with eccentric filmmaker Ken Russell.

One of my favorite Richard Thompson songs is Drowned Dog Black Night, form the first French Frith Kaiser Thompson albums. That album tends to get overlooked; it's a little more out there than some of RTs other records.

I saw Richard Thompson in Prospect Park a few years back. It was pouring down rain and many people left though we hung in there, happily, hearing him perform "1952 Vincent Black Lightning" which the Del McCoury Band has made famous to a whole new audience.
