Options March 16, 2021: Devon with his Co-Host Rich Hazelton
"Devon E. Levins' SOUNDTRACKS IN 7 (1961-2016)," the new MORRICONE ISLAND 2-CD premium, is available for pledges of $75 or more only during WFMU's 2021 FUNDRAISING MARATHON NOW in its second week! In honor of the show's seventh year on WFMU, the premium is a compilation of 49 film, television, video game and library music themes and cues (150 minutes of music!) of septuple (7/4, 7/8) meter madness with a cover so generously designed by Rocket Rob Patton of TWO BLACK SOCKS DESIGNS! It's guaranteed to get you counting to 7 from the very first beat. DJ DEVON E. LEVINS hits the airwaves tonight with the Island's co-producing unsung hero, rarely heard on mic, RICH HAZELTON of INFLATABLE SQUIRREL CARCASS co-hosting to raise funds for the station and giveaway some special on air prizes donated by The Roundtable Records, Finders Keepers Records and Criterion. But there's no need to wait to support WFMU (91.1 FM / wfmu.org), the longest continuously running freeform radio station in the country now in its 63rd year - click here to support the show and get this instant classic now: http://pledge.wfmu.org/donate/PE

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm melinda:

howdy!
  7:08pm Seamus:

i love this. makes me feel the same as listening to Nico, solo
  7:08pm Glistener MW:

“I Start Counting”! I only heard of this film for the first time a couple of weeks ago when hearing Quentin Tarantino rave about it on a podcast
Avatar 7:09pm ReneTLevins:

my brain hurts
  7:10pm Glistener MW:

I chose your 7 premium as one of mine last week! Looking forward to hearing it!
Avatar 7:10pm ReneTLevins:

Soundtracks in 7!
  7:12pm Seamus:

@Glistener MW that song was good rainy day music :) (which is my favorite thing) :)
  7:14pm Seamus:

just sitting in your car with a good friend (or lover), is the best thing ever during a massive rain storm
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm Scott Williams:

Devon always makes amazing and exhaustive Marathon premium CDs, they are absolutely worth your pledge to this show!
  7:15pm headcleaner:

@seamus: ...only topped by sitting at home, listening to MI ...
  7:16pm rich:

hello ultradamno, richard, seamus, melinda, glistener mw, rene, scott, headcleaner
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm melinda:

more devil's music.
  7:17pm Seamus:

hi, rich!
Avatar 7:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Loving the Harryhausen presence tonight ! :)
  7:25pm rich:

$75 or more puts you in the running for the grand prize: Bruce Lee His Greatest Hits, a 7 blu-ray dvd set of Bruce Lee’s five films that he starred in with various extras including documentaries, alternative versions of film and audio soundtracks, and a whole lot more
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm Michael 98145:

coming off -mute- to say: avoid the crab fingers
  7:31pm Adam West Coaster:

Thank you, Devon, Rich, skeletons, and WFMU! I have a medical appointment later this week. I say, keep the scares coming!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33pm Cabbage:

'evening all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:33pm McGroovey:

Ooh. This botanical background would be freaking me out right now, if I did acid. No, I never have. For what it's worth.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm Michael 98145:

Invest in the station -- lasts longer than the trip
  7:43pm Seamus:

This is beautiful! thanks :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm Richard S:

Was there a Best Soundtrack winner at the Grammys?
  7:46pm ?:

Sounds great! I have yet to see a Bruce Lee movie though I've seen some amazing martial arts flicks from Taiwan and Hong Kong (on Criterion). I'm putting Bruce Lee at the top of my list
  7:46pm rich:

if you’ve never seen a Bruce Lee film and you’re wary after having watched one or two martial arts films don’t be because bruce lee was a star (and often badly dubbed and these blu-rays have original audio tracks with subtitles if you so choose) and well worth watching. chances of winning the grand prize are very good.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm ultradamno:

There's a music video/film category that Brown Skin Girl won
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm ultradamno:

And Best Music Film that went to that Linda Ronstadt doc
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm Michael 98145:

We live near Bruce and Brandon Lee's gravesite
  7:49pm ?=Marie:

@Michael--is that in LA somewhere?
  7:49pm Glistener MW:

Nerdy FYI for anyone who gets the Criterion blu-ray Bruce Lee set: if you have the existing WB blu-ray or DVD of Enter The Dragon, hang onto it! It contains two great feature-length docs on Bruce’s life and Bruce’s death which didn’t carry over to the Criterion set’s extras
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Michael 98145:

@Marie, here in Seattle ...
  7:55pm Seamus:

jesus, Seattle's not that good. Get over yourself :)
  7:55pm rich:

coming to the end of the show if you’re interested in the O Sidarta LP ($20 or more) or the Bruce Lee box ($75 or more) get your pledges in now. pledge.wfmu.org
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm Michael 98145:

Seattle -does- need to get over itself

:)
  7:59pm Marie:

@Michael--huh, interesting--it's reminding me of some of the things I have heard about Mr. Lee over the years. Very sad about him and his son.
  8:01pm Marie:

Thanks, Devon!!!
  8:01pm Seamus:

Nashville, Detroit, Chicago, Memphis, New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, New Orleans, all better than seattle :P
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54am Devon E. Levins:

Thanks All for listening and pledging! And to Scott for the kind words and skeletoning!
