Ahhh...I get it now. The "last segment" for tonight? I misunderstood I thought this was the last-ever ST, hence the frown! I feel much better now.

Good evening, Todd and all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12pm Pauly from Clifton:

Scott67, what a pleasant surprise! 🍻
  8:13pm Gerry from Miami:

Todd-o-Phonic Todd, if you get a chance, I placed a post at the tail end of Daisy's show tonight at 7:58. There was scant time for listeners to read it, but I think you would really get a kick out of it. It involves the work of two American record companies in Vietnam during the war.
Avatar 8:13pm Hackensack Slim:

Groovy Joe Rudi?
Avatar 8:13pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

I'll check it out Gerry!
Avatar 8:15pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Hackensack Slim: Damn...that's good. Better than Billy North To Alaska I have to admit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm Chili Pagoda:

Heya Gina!
  8:15pm Gerry from Miami:

Love this stuff, TOPT! Irresistible beats and dance rhythms from a bygone era.

  8:19pm Gina Bacon:

Hey, Chili!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm Chili Pagoda:

This is a super cool show, TOPT. Reminds me of growing up in Pittsburgh and hearing replays of Porky Chedwick’s shows. Love it.
Avatar 8:21pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Chili Pagoda: Oh man, that is one of the finest compliments you could ever pay. THANK YOU!!!
  8:22pm Gerry from Miami:

Just learned of Jimmy Rodgers's death today. I can remember boppin' out to "Honeycomb" and "Uh Oh, I'm Fallin' in Love Again" at junior high sock hops. Listeners should read the Rodgers bio in Wikipedia. His career crossed paths with the freakin' Mafia, for God's sake!
Avatar 8:25pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Gerry from Miami: Dave The Spazz paid homage to Jimmy on his show this past Thursday.
  8:26pm Gerry from Miami:

Thanks, Todd. I'll check the archives.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm marpay:

HA Todd! I like to see everybody rockin while I listen♥
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm medson:

Really rockin the house tonight Todd.

SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT JIMMY RODGERS - HONECOMB 1957 ED SULLIVAN TV SHOW
Avatar 8:30pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Thanks @medson. The next round of Cape May mini-golf is on me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm medson:

Let’s do it.
Avatar 8:31pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@medson: We're on. I got the golf, you get the hot dogs at Tommy's.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm medson:

Done.
  8:37pm Gerry from Miami:

Chili Pagoda, my sophomore roommate in college was from Clairton, a tough steel mill town near Pittsburgh. So I received a complete education in Pittsburgh culture--KDKA, the Pirates and Steelers, Tommy James and the Shondells, the Vogues and yes, his beloved fave DJ, Mr. Porky Chedwick. He told me to forget Wolfman Jack, Jerry Blavat, Kasey Kasem and Cousin Brucie. Porky was the real deal!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm Candy-O'67:

Been tuning in, Todd. Sounding good!
Avatar 8:41pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Thanks Candy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm Chili Pagoda:

@GerryFromMiami Right on! My dad and Uncle John turned me on to Pork The Tork, there was a local am station that used to replay his shows and I just totally got into them. Your roommate from Clairton knew the score - Porky, the ayatollah of rocknrollah was the greatest(along with Cleveland’s finest, The Mad Daddy Pete Myers).
  8:43pm Andres:

Lots of hot ones tonight! Particularly dug (Dance) Any Way You Wanta!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm medson:

Not that it was an ape. But you made me think of the time a monkey ripped the antenna of my parents car as kid at Jungle Habitat.
Avatar 8:44pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Let's not forget the great Mad Mike!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm Chili Pagoda:

@TOPT Yes!!! One of the best lp’s I ever picked up at the WFMU record fair was a Mad Mike comp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:46pm Dominick:

mighty fine pickin' there
  8:48pm bigplanetnoise:

There it is!!!
Avatar 8:49pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@bigplanetnoise: I think The Merseybeats can supplant Tony Ray!
  8:50pm Gerry from Miami:

Is that the "Slow Down" that Beatle John Lennon heard and brought to the band for a stirring cover version?
Avatar 8:51pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Gerry from Miami: Same song and artist, though the version I played tonight was probably recorded after The Beatles cut it. Like Little Richard, Larry Williams redid a lot of his stuff in the sixties.
  8:52pm Gerry from Miami:

That's what I suspected, Todd.
Avatar 8:55pm HyperDose:

"The Washington football team" nice save haha
  9:08pm bigplanetnoise:

Super great set, Todd!!!
Avatar 9:11pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Thanks Bob!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm Daisy Lacy:

This is the perfect TCB soundtrack Todd
  9:12pm Gerry from Miami:

A shole set of jingle-jangle Byrds-like records from bands no one has ever heard of. Todd, how do you do it?
Avatar 9:12pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

TCB Daisy!
  9:13pm Gerry from Miami:

I meant a "whole" set. Fat fingers strike again. LOL!
Avatar 9:15pm HyperDose:

Yes! The Perfumed Garden is THE place to be on Friday nights!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15pm Gaylord Fields:

Thanks, Todd! Got the VG+ $6 copy of the Shillings 45! Take that, Tony Ray fans!
Avatar 9:16pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Gaylord Fields: Glad to hear...I guess there has been some inflation, however.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19pm Gaylord Fields:

@Todd-o-phonic Todd: I just figured the extra $1 was tacked on by the seller as your finder's fee.
  9:20pm bigplanetnoise:

Jimē lePage?!?
  9:24pm Gerry from Miami:

Gaylord and Todd, I know you guys remember the character played by Daniel Stern in "Diner." When he freaks out because his wife refiled a James Brown 45 in the wrong place in his treasured record collection, I saw myself and collectors like you two reflected on the silver screen. Crazy hobby, obsessive record collecting, but so much fun!
Avatar 9:26pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Gerry from Miami: Didn't he have his records filed by label?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26pm Gaylord Fields:

Damn, I love this song, Todd! Beverly will cut a guy — and dead even!
Avatar 9:27pm Hackensack Slim:

Beverly sounds like she means business!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27pm Gaylord Fields:

@Gerry: My being a record collector must be some sort of penance for living one or several lives as a very bad person. But at least my records are filed randomly instead of in any sensible order.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm Gaylord Fields:

@Hackensack Slim: Do not — and I mean DO NOT — mention your ex if you're dating Beverly, or out comes the shiv!
Avatar 9:30pm Hackensack Slim:

Sage Advice, Gaylord.
  9:31pm Gerry from Miami:

No Todd, he had them sorted by genre. He was pissed at his wife for putting the record back in his soul section instead of R&B. (Or vice versa, my memory is fuzzy).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm patrick321:

That Beverly Jones "cut" can be found on Sheila B's premium of last year BTW
Avatar 9:33pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Gerry from Miami: Ah, that's how I have mine sorted too. Though for the 45's I have the soul and r&b sections as one so I would at least avoid that pitfall.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38pm Gaylord Fields:

Todd, I play that record as a warning to any potential suitors of Beverly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm Chop Scott:

This is my fave of the program tonight!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42pm Alex of Chicago:

I can relate.
  9:42pm Gina Bacon:

His rhyming game is strong
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43pm Alex of Chicago:

Just don't let anyone else know how pathetic I am.
  9:46pm bigplanetnoise:

Top top 45.
Avatar 9:46pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Alex of Chicago: One man's floor is another man's ceiling.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47pm Alex of Chicago:

Thanks, Todd. Just feeling in the moment.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:54pm Chili Pagoda:

Such a dynamite show, TOPT. Got a bookmark for this one. Thank you!
  9:57pm bigplanetnoise:

Todd - great, great show! Thanks!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm Gina Bacon:

Thanks, Todd!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm Candy-O'67:

Thx, Todd! Fabulous, as always!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm marpay:

Hey Todd , thank you, I love your show!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57pm Pauly from Clifton:

Thanks, TOPT!
Avatar 9:58pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Thanks for listening everyone...it doesn't matter how long the show is...it will always get cut off! I guess it's really important to get back to the robot!
  10:11pm Gerry from Miami:

Todd, don''t forget to check out my comment right near the end of Daisy's show from earlier this evening. Thanks! Great show!
