Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01pm medson:

  8:01pm Sissophonic Cheryl:

Sounds good boo!
Avatar 8:02pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Medson! What are you drinking tonight?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm Chop Scott:

Tuesday's are super--Pow Pow Pow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03pm medson:

Had a fruit smoothie tonight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03pm Woo:

This is Hour 14 of listening to WFMU today. It's my life and I'll do what I want.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:03pm patrick321:

Hey Todd, sounds like you're all shoveled out and ready to go.
Avatar 8:04pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Thanks Scott! Woo...we might have to plan an intervention!
  8:04pm Andres:

Hey Todd and all! Tom Tall provides an opening to discuss the dangers of stacking records, both to the vinyl itself and the innocent passerby.
Avatar 8:05pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@patrick321: I haven't owned a shovel in years. There's one plus for city living.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05pm Listener Wolfgang:

Cheers Todd and Chop Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm Chop Scott:

Cheers Wolfgang!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm Pauly from Clifton:

Avatar 8:07pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

How is Clifton doing tonight Pauly?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:07pm medson:

I imagine there are lots of aching backs from shoveling
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm Chop Scott:

I'll raise you a Banker's Note Wolfgang--perpetually!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm Pauly from Clifton:

@TOPT, a winter wonderland that's great to look at but a drag to navigate...and shovel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm Chili Pagoda:

@TOPT A ways to go yet, maybe another 90min. The traffic is thicker than Billy Gibbons’ beard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm Scott67:

G'day Todd & Yesterday's People! 😎✌❤☀️ from tomorrow!
  8:10pm sufferwords:

what me worry? remod on the FMU app fookin’ slays- Todd spinning wax- Clippers/Nets boobing fore my eyes- feels like the last Thursday in November
Avatar 8:10pm Joe B:

super tuesday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:10pm Candy-O'67:

Hey Todd and all!
Avatar 8:11pm Creature Boy:

I'm guessing that the 80s or perhaps the 90s had a band called Shovel. Yeah I came to F olding Money through Carl Belew ( co writer I think ) & then the Falll and then finally the original. And then there's the Falls cover of the great Pinball Machine by Lonnie Irving
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm medson:

Hey Joe B and Candy O
  8:12pm Andres:

30 second break to check out The Fall version. Nice!
Avatar 8:12pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@sufferwords: If you can play D maybe you can join The Nets!
Avatar 8:13pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Creature Boy: Wow, I never knew The Fall covered "Pinball Machine"! Not going to be this time though!
Avatar 8:13pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Howdy Candy and Mr. Belock!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:17pm patrick321:

I keep a steel shovel in the trunk for parking space improvement and also to lend an occasional hand to people trapped on the sidewalk who can't get to the bus—a new JC problem since the bike lanes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm medson:

Who knew so many weren’t really from Canada ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm ike p:

good evening todd-o-phonic-todd! thanks for a great show
Avatar 8:18pm HyperDose:

Is that what steel trunk shovels are for? I always assumed my dad moonlit as a hitman.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:18pm Gaylord Fields:

Hi, Todd-o-phonic Todd! What you said about Billy Miller and his heightened sense of perception on idiotic subjects that others would never notice is making me laugh!
Avatar 8:19pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@patrick321: Those bike lanes are a total nightmare on many different levels.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm Chili Pagoda:

Oklahoma teens bringing it with the Move cover. They might as well have been some Goldhawk Road mods. 👍👍
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm Candy-O'67:

Hey, medson!
  8:20pm Andres:

Guy Lombardo And His Royal Canadians are an exception to the rule, although I don’t expect to be hearing them on Yesterday’s Numbers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm Candy-O'67:

That Mood song was awesome!!
Avatar 8:20pm Creature Boy:

My mind got tripped & flipped just like the Mood guy said. I had my doubts but...
Avatar 8:21pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Andres: Maybe on New Year's Eve.
Avatar 8:21pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

You're welcome @ike p!
  8:21pm Andres:

I will chill the champagne!
  8:22pm Lu:

  8:28pm Andres:

The Afex - Early contender for number of the night, so great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:28pm Gaylord Fields:

That Petula Clark sure could write a garage rock classic!
Avatar 8:29pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Andres: So incredibly catchy, right?
Avatar 8:30pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Gaylord Fields: Not to spoil the suspense of the back announce, but the crazy thing is Kenny Chandler has two different songs called "Heart" on two different labels.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm WR:

busy cooking here but you made me pause with the Kaleidoscope not just for Monday nights comment call out to Big Planet Noise.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm Gaylord Fields:

@Todd-o-phonic Todd: Heh! Maybe his A&R man didn't know which song Kenny wanted to do and brought him both.
  8:33pm zoelpw:

Hey Todd-O & groovy people!
Avatar 8:34pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Hi Zoe!!! Can't wait for Friday night!
  8:38pm jackie m:

topt, you're meltin' the snow with all this heat you're providing tonight!

  8:41pm zoelpw:

Avatar 8:42pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Thanks @jackie m...I'm trying!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm Matt Clarke:

Avatar 8:43pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Matt Clarke: You and Mike did a nice one tonight. Wish we didn't have to do 'em!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm medson:

Too many god damn tributes lately.

Avatar 8:47pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Congrats Chili!
  8:47pm MOM WHIG:

Hey all - thanks for Tribute to Animals
Avatar 8:48pm Creature Boy:

I'm wondering if Hilton Valentine was still w the Animals when they played Don't Bring Me Down on Ed Sullivan . cool dude playin that fuzz pedal guitar in a black greek fisherman's cap
Avatar 8:49pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

You're welcome MOM WHIG...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:50pm Matt Clarke:

Avatar 9:04pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Matt Clarke: Be careful what you wish for!
Avatar 9:04pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

"And all them chicks..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05pm Gaylord Fields:

@Matt: I'm sure that was 39¢ well spent on that Spartas 45.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:06pm Matt Clarke:

@King Of The Beat, Gaylord Fields: Worth every penny
Avatar 9:11pm Creature Boy:

This record i only discovered recently ( outcast) its so good and I suspect it wasn't released in the US idk . Guess I'll give er a google
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm Candy-O'67:

Hilton's guitar is so fine in Outcast!
Avatar 9:11pm Nutley Sam:

Late to the chat but enjoying the great tribute Todd-O!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11pm Candy-O'67:

This is one of my favorites of theirs
Avatar 9:12pm Hackensack Slim:

Great Tribute Todd. This is such an incredible band. I guess they kinda got lost in the shuffle with all the Brit Bands at the time. RIP Hilton.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:12pm Matt Clarke:

@Creature Boy: It's on the 66 MGM album, Animalism. But not this version!
Avatar 9:13pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Thanks Sam!
Avatar 9:13pm Nutley Sam:

Loudest show I ever saw was the Animals in 1983 on the Ark tour.
  9:13pm CC:

Nice cuts!!!...:)
Avatar 9:14pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Hackensack Slim: Very much like The Yardbirds they were an r'n'b band with a pop producer. I think The Animals actually fared better on record though.
  9:18pm johnk77:

great work selecter
newcastle struck me as a
hard-core part of the uk
the only time i went there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18pm Candy-O'67:

Another fave, Inside Looking Out
Avatar 9:20pm Creature Boy:

Thx matt. The Animals r more found then lost id say . House of The Rising Sun & We Gotta Get Out of This Place are firmly placed in the foreground
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:21pm Matt Clarke:

@Creature Boy: Their discography is also a bit confusing with similar titles to different albums. It's hard to keep it straight!
  9:22pm CC:

I kind of like the cover version of I'm Mad?!?...:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23pm Matt Clarke:

Great selections, Todd
Avatar 9:24pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@CC: That's a great one too...
Avatar 9:24pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Thanks Matt!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24pm Chili Pagoda:

That was a fantastic tribute set, TOTP. Going to replay it again later tonight. And probably tmrw too.
  9:25pm sufferwords:

couldn’t agree more about the live set
Avatar 9:25pm Nutley Sam:

Improvised Eric Burdon lyric when I saw them in '83: "It's a hard world to get a break in, with Ronald Reagan and Menachem Begin"
Avatar 9:26pm Nutley Sam:

^ true story
  9:26pm johnk77:

animals totally huge influence
on music explosion, sir timothy & the royals and many others
Avatar 9:26pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Nutley Sam: Oh man, that is genius...
  9:26pm Andres:

Lots of love and respect shown on the many tributes here on WFMU. Thanks for adding yours, Todd.
Avatar 9:27pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

You're welcome Andres...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27pm Matt Clarke:

@Nutley Sam: Was it the original line-up with Alan Price n crew at that show?
Avatar 9:27pm Creature Boy:

Yeah Matt. I guess I was wondering if the single was released here but I'll check out that different LP version for sure
  9:28pm CC:

Happy Valentine's Day!!!...:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29pm Chili Pagoda:

Joe Hill Louis & Dr. Ross, kings of the one man blues bands.
Avatar 9:30pm Nutley Sam:

@Matt -- yeah, the 5 originals "augmented" by: synth player, another guitarist, sax player and percussionist (gongs, vibraslap and such)
Avatar 9:31pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Nutley Sam: I saw them a few years previous to that..imagine the show was about the same.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32pm medson:

Nice segue. Sing it Wolf
Avatar 9:33pm Nutley Sam:

@Todd that being said, it was still great. Where was the show you saw? Mine was the Auditorium Theater in Rochester.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36pm Chili Pagoda:

The Wolf feared no other man, with the exception of Willie Dixon. Imagine the guy that made The Wolf say, no thanks!
Avatar 9:36pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Nutley Sam: It was either Central Park or the Pier by the West Side Highway where they did shows for a bit...I know I saw The Kinks and Neil Young and The International Harvesters at that pier around that time. Here's the thing...a day or two before the gig me, Billy & Miriam and The Hound were among the only people who attended a press conference for The Animals. I'm talking to one of them and asked them if they were going to do "Club A-GoGo". I know...but I was a teenager! And they said it was a good idea and they probably would. I think you know how the story ends.
Avatar 9:38pm Nutley Sam:

@Todd HAHA! Excellent!
  9:40pm CC:

Sometimes words out of the mouths of babes can sway!!!...:)
Avatar 9:40pm Joe B:

basically the animals sharing the stage with burdon's current solo band. I guess similar to the 1989 Who tour
  9:41pm Tinley Park Randy:

I love when Todd goes blue!👍
Avatar 9:41pm Hackensack Slim:

Nice to know I'm not the only one that curses out the Robot.
  9:42pm CC:

The Bunny usually sticks to a rigorous routine!!!...:)
  9:42pm Dash The Dog:

LMAO fuck that robot. The Stork is playing 5 hour sets over on Give the Drummer
Avatar 9:43pm Nutley Sam:

@Joe the Who '89 played stadiums just to accommodate all the people on stage.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43pm Matt Clarke:

Did you see the 89 Who tour, Sam or Joe?
Avatar 9:44pm Nutley Sam:

@Matt yeah, it was underwhelming but I knew they would never tour again!
Avatar 9:45pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Dash The Dog: Are you sure it doesn't just seem like Stork's shows are 5 hours?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45pm Matt Clarke:

@Sam: Ha!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45pm bill hanke:

lets be clear. are you saying you're not a robot?
Avatar 9:46pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@bill hanke: There is a difference between doing The Robot and being a robot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:46pm medson:

It’s almost time to hear the chiffons sing about great shakes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50pm Candy-O'67:

Haha, medson! Ain't that the truth!
Avatar 9:52pm Joe B:

@Matt, I saw the 89 Who tour in Philly. pretty boring.
Avatar 9:52pm Nutley Sam:

I wish the robot would give Pepsi equal time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53pm Matt Clarke:

@Nutley: Will no one think of RC?
  9:54pm CC:

Let's not forget Dr Pepper at 10, 2 and 4!!!...:)
Avatar 9:54pm Nutley Sam:

@Matt I've never had RC! Always wanted to. Too busy with Mr. Pibb I guess.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm Chop Scott:
