RIP Budd-y
  7:04pm headcleaner:

"Now here's a cult I'd be happy to join" thought I, when hearing this track... but ah, we're in Morricone Island already!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm Deborah:

Calming...

Micah has a way of hypnotizing us, and blurring all sense of time ....
  7:07pm headcleaner:

But as it is, I can't get enough of Harold Budd these days + am super-happy for this retro

Evening. Who has MilkDudds...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm joe mulligan:

ugh it appears Harold died of covid-19. so frustrating. his compositions are so tranquil, in my ears just as wonderful and unique as brian eno
Avatar 7:11pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Frippadocious
  7:12pm headcleaner:

@joe - yup - eno was great, be he seemed to peak... way back when. budd, however, continually grew in stature until the very end
Avatar 7:14pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

So angry & disgusted by the toll the incompetence of the outgoing Admin has wrought in the pandemic. Good news is that may change.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm Handy Haversack:

Hey, Devon, all.

As has been said, so say I.
  7:16pm headcleaner:

@RR - I am to but I prefer to focus on the moment + keeping healthy - budd's music greatly helps with that
  7:16pm Pat Sabbath:

Thank you so so much for playing this right now. The timing is absolutely perfect
  7:18pm headcleaner:

Your RIP is very apropos + quite welcome, Devon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm ultradamno:

By the time the pandemic happened anyone who would have told Trump there was a personal advantage to do it right was gone. He is not about delayed gratification or doing for anyone else, so he didn't have any interest in it aside from hanging the blame wherever else he could
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm joe mulligan:

@headcleaner I agree completely, and well put!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm melinda:

Dang, I remember reading and liking I Know This Much is True but I forgot the plot, will have to look it up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm ultradamno:

Mysterious Skin, with possibly the best performance of Billy Drago, who also died just a few years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm rita popova:

victorville is also home to a world renowned movie collection of respected film buff Gregg Turkington if I'm not mistaken
  7:23pm WM:

Harold Budd and Albert Ayler! Never heard of this before!
Avatar 7:24pm TDK60:

Hello.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm melinda:

@ultradamno I remember Billy Drago from The Untouchables, he was good n creepy in that. Will have to check out Mysterious Skin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm Yes:

hello all
Avatar 7:28pm Scott67:

G'day Devon & Islanders!
Avatar 7:29pm Devon E. Levins:

Hello, All. Yeah unfortunately one could have a weekly radio show just doing RIP tributes to Covid casualties.
  7:35pm wallybear:

Excellent tribute to Budd!
Avatar 7:38pm tak:

this was my most listened artist of 2020 by far and the track that always got me trapped in it was As Long As I Can Hold My Breath (By Night). I got into Budd after listening to Perhaps. rip
  7:40pm headcleaner:

yup - Budd has been helping me through the emotional blizzard of 2020-2021 big time
Avatar 7:46pm slugluv1313:

greetings, Devon and Skeletons and Castaways!
so beautiful, ethereal on this cold snowy, rainy night . . . i think i first became aware of Harold Budd through Eno? late 1970s?
was not aware of all his soundtrack work though!
and yes, a damn shame that he succumbed to COVID, when it probably could have been prevented (as so many other of the deaths)
THANK YOU, Devon, for this heartfelt (and heartbreaking) tribute to Mr. Harold Budd
Avatar 7:50pm slugluv1313:

@melinda -- right? i read "I Know This Much is True" too, quite the complicated-family-history plot! but i had not known about the HBO series until hearing Harold Budd's music here :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm melinda:

@slugluv I think maybe I was confusing it with Wally Lamb 's other novel and that's why I didn't remember it, looked it up and it rang no bells!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm melinda:

This is the first Harold Budd tribute I've heard and I've thoroughly enjoyed it, I'm a fan now. Thanks!
Avatar 7:59pm TDK60:

Thanks Devon.
Avatar 7:59pm tak:

thank you
  8:00pm headcleaner:

awesome, devon
