hey, Feldpausch! I always giggle when i see your picture, it reminds me of Harry Nilsson
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am
Paper Kosmonaut:

Question on that Baccara song: according to the sound it is possibly mid-to-late eighties, so not the original duo any more, but either the blond one's new duo or the brunette's version of Baccara. Which one was it?

Jan, I enjoyed that Netherlands Xmas song you played on Saturday. I've bookmarked that for relistening.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 11:36am

@PK, it's a compilation, so it might contain music from several versions of Baccara. I'm not an expert on this :-)

me neither, I was just curious.

WR:

Sonovox sound caught my ear. some one on WFMU played the Sonovox recording of Sparky's talking piano this year, maybe on Double Dip Recess. I guess I could search.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm
chresti:

I don't think I've ever brushed my teeth while wearing a hat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Jan, I did a little dive in Baccara's record history, this Cd you linked is released in 1999 as 'Baccara 2000' and is linked to neither of the ladies' later solo efforts. Still no clue as of where that copacabana song originates. The Wiki says:"Despite a series of name and line-up changes, both Baccara duos continue to perform around Europe and have released new albums. Both have also made re-recordings of their hits for various minor record labels, which are regularly re-packaged and re-issued under the original Baccara name, occasionally with photos of the original duo, Mateos and Mendiola, on the album covers." funny stuff!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:35pm
Mx. Granny (e/em):

Feldpausch—Nilsson also gargled, as heard in the gargling solo on "The Most Beautiful World in the World"

Somehow people have become even less careful after this lockdown began. Idiots in supermarkets wearing their masks incorrectly with their noses sticking out.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:13pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Martinibomb!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm

Then it must be that darn Ziggo guy again. He says he's a cable provider but he acts like he cannot screw in a lightbulb.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:21pm
Jan Turkenburg:

The weird thing is that I never had any internet problems with Ziggo, while I know some people who have had...
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:22pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I am annoyed by the recurring ziggo voice-mail problem though
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:23pm
Paper Kosmonaut:

Sometimes Ziggo acts like he's Poltergeist himself. I don't trust him. But he has the monopoly here. While we can get power from 10 different electricity companies out of our sockets. Now how is that possible?
🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:23pm
WR:

Yum chresti, yum. When I was young tamales was 1am after a concert quick snack. Now later years it is brunch along with milk & rice drink or hot chocoate. Local taco lady is still active and in fact recently noticed she has lots of competitors: grocery carts with big pot of tamales on nearly every corner at each of the subway stations, there from 6 or 7 AM until all sold or noon, whichever comes first.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 1:26pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm

I might switch to KPN, they are working on their fibreoptic network now in Groningen. but I haven't been fond of them either. Ziggo has the monopoly on what used to be CAI, De Kabel.
